    Mango sago dessert

Amazing service! It's been years since I have received excellent service at a restaurant. The servers were very attentive making sure your hotpot flame was filled, and your soup was filled and topped off so they often check on you for your needs. Food was decent and lots of options for food that will meet everyone's taste buds and preferences. They open until midnight on weekdays so definitely pop by for some food, snacks, bubble tea, desserts or mini individual hotpot. I personally enjoyed coming here and hanging out. This is inside the First Markham Place so be sure to come early for a parking spot as it can get full and busy during weekends and Friday nights.

We were here for the dinner. I was so happy with the seafood hotpot and rice. That's a personal style that enough for 2 ppl. We got a pork rice as well. But the size was not as much as the hotpot one. The price was reasonable for both. And I like the dining environment. Now new App member will get a free soya milk pudding. That's so good. That's a must try item.

It's such a cute spot if you want a hot pot place in a pinch. They do those individual hot pot servings. You don't get overwhelmed with all the food. They have great popcorn chicken too. I didn't get to try their other food but I'm sure it's all delicious. I just wish they'd be more attentive to their bathrooms. Found surprises in a few of them. I'm sure this was just an oversight but it wills be helpful if they were more vigilant about keeping the stalls as clean as possible.

I've always loved Taiwanese food so I had to come here. I came with a friend on a weekday because they are offering lunch specials for $15.99 with a choice of drink. You would need to scan the QR code to place the food orders. We both ordered Taiwanese salt and pepper popcorn chicken with rice. The portion was pretty decent. The popcorn chicken was good, it satisfied my cravings. They also came out with a rewards program, if you download the app you can get a free coconut pudding as first time users. Will definitely return for their specials.

Disappointing experience. After waiting for a while in the queue we were seated at a small table between two tables of diners having screaming conversations with decibels that were louder than jackhammers. The food was underwhelming and undercooked. The Beef with Rice on Sizzling Hot Plate was stirred at our table by our server. The raw egg on top was not cooked despite our server stirring and mixing the food. Perhaps the redeeming part of the meal was the Mango Slush. I've been to other locations of Mabu Generation in downtown Toronto and Mississauga and had better experiences. Next time I know to only go to Mabu Generation for drinks or dessert.

Sweet & spicy deep fried tofu. So tasty.

Awesome looking dessert Mango Honey Cube Toast. Crunchy toast and fully loaded with mango. Very filling though. So, leave room for this when you decide making the order. Great place for hanging out with friends. Recommended.

Black Pepper/Teriyaki Beef with Cheese and Garlic on Rice

Came to Mabu Generation after hearing that the Flaming Kitchen in the same plaza closed down. Mabu is your typical Chinese cafe/diner that serves everything from quick snacks, bubble tea, entrees, and dessert. The place itself is decorated like a Chinese street food place, which definitely adds to the atmosphere. You place your order on your phone, so service is mostly them delivering your food, but servers are overall nice. One thing I will always do is order a Sizzling Plate if it's available. I ordered the Black Pepper/Teriyaki Beef with Cheese and Garlic. Honestly wasn't as good as Flaming Kitchen (which closed down sadly in the plaza), as the sauce was a tad watery. There was also a bit too much sauce so there was a visible pool on the bottom. It prevented the rice from getting crispy, which is the best part sadly. I also wish they added more cheese. However, it was still yummy nonetheless. I also ordered the Mango Smoothie with Mango Chunks and it was delicious! Definitely a popular item. We stayed here for nearly 3 hours and they didn't kick us out which we were grateful for! This is a great place for catching up with friends and getting a quick bite. Will have to find my perfect sizzling plate elsewhere though!

First visit to Mabu Generation since the pandemic, and the cozy, old-school vibe was a welcome surprise. Tried Chilled Mango Sago, Brick Toast with Condensed Milk and Ovaltine, and HK Lemon Tea with Bear Ice. The crispy toast filled with condensed milk was amazing, and the bear-shaped ice kept my tea perfectly chilled with dense presence of lemon black tea, though I spent half the time wondering why I couldn't stop breaking the bear with my spoon... Will definitely return to try more of their menu!

I celebrated my birthday here on a weekday with my family. We tried their: - Taiwanese Style Popcorn Chicken $10.99 - Taiwanese Style Grilled Angus Beef Steak Egg Pancake $13.99 - Japanese Style Suiyaki Hot Pot w/ Udon $21.99 - Grilled Assorted Cutlet (Pork Chop, Chicken Cutlet, AAA Striploin Steak, Sausage) $24.99 - Matcha Honey Cube Toast w/ Matcha Ice Cream & Red Bean $21.99 - Strawberry Milk Snow Shake $7.99 - Pineapple Freeze $6.99 As a huge matcha fan, the matcha toast tower was my favourite item and I would highly recommend it to other matcha fans. Apart from that, I also liked how big the portion sizes were here. We struggled as a group of 3 people to finish any of the items. The grilled hot plates, hot pot, and dessert could each be split amongst 2-3 people, making it a lot more cost effective than going to an all you can eat bbq or hot pot spot. Service was also very fast as well. Overall, I would recommend visiting with a group of people. I took one star off as they have very limited options for vegetarians, as almost all of the dishes are very meat heavy.

Has a good variety of food including desserts. A nice fast casual place with quick service. You can order via a QR code on the table. Hot pot is a good amount of food.

I was not in the mood to cook, so I decided to surprise mr. Tran and I something different. I got the popcorn chicken with rice and the Taiwanese sausage and minced pork with rice. I also got the tofu with garlic sauce. Portion wise, was very generous. The popcorn chicken was your standard fare of bubble tea popcorn chicken with a side of spicy mayo. The Taiwanese sausage was good, but the minced pork was the main star. The tofu with garlic sauce was decent, but I think it would have been amazing if I ate it fresh, as I had ordered for take out. Nonetheless, I would order again when I don't feel like cooking.

I recommend this place for the food and atmosphere especially if you go with friends. I went with my friend and we ordered the popcorn chicken for appetizer. It's crispy and hot when served, just we were expecting for. We both loved it! The stinky Tofu hotpot is plenty for 2 person. I was skeptical at first but it turns out to be a good adventurous choice. Lots of different ingredients. It's not that stinky if you don't eat the tofu itself. Overall experience was pretty good. When the fuel for hotpot ran out, the server spotted it and replaced it immediately. We got the bill and split it like around $25 per person.

Category: Taiwanese Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value: 4/5 What a great little restaurant this is. It serves mostly Taiwanese/Japanese pub-style food. There is a strong emphasis on sizzling plates, hot pots, noddle and rice bowls. There are also some specialty drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) as well as Taiwanese deserts. The food is comfort Taiwanese greasy spoon (or perhaps chopsticks?). The kind of food that goes well with a cold beer. The service is super prompt. You order the dish online, and it magically appears at your table within a few minutes. The ambiance is hip, think of a gastro pub in downtown Taipei. The value is also very good. Most rice dishes and sizzling plates are $16-$18 while hot pots are $25.

Service is abysmal, food is bland and just edible, not worth the prices charged. Even the teas offered are just okay without much flavour.

The restaurant was pretty small, so you'll need to go to the common space to eat. To get to this store: take the escalators to the 2nd floor, turn left and go all the way to the end of the hall, turn right and go all the way down. It is the 3rd last store on the left side. Ambiance: 4/5. It is a 1 person store. The owner has another store across but it's really just a storage unit. She's usually deep within the store making food so you'll have to wait to catch her attention. There is a large menu outside along with 3 breakfast combos near the cash register. I missed those because I wasn't looking up. Service: 3.75/5 - we were the first one to order. More people came after us. She told us 10 minutes so we walked around while we waited. When we got back, there were more waiting but she gave an order to someone that ordered well after us. After we spoke with her, she realized she forgot our order. It took another 10-15 minutes to make. Food: 4.5/5 - we ordered the traditional rice roll ($8) with soy milk ($3). On first glance, it looked small. It has some weight to it and it felt very hot. When you bite into it, it's warm. There is a very crispy fried dough fritter in the middle. It also came with preserved/picked vegetables and a Tawianese sausage. Definitely don't unroll the cling film wrap all the way or it'll be an even messier eat. I liked that there was a lot of filling and the rice around it was a thin layer. It is small but mighty! I'm surprisingly full from it. The soy milk is fine, it tastes unsweetened. Overall: 4/5 - I don't mind coming back and trying the other options (more varieties of rice rolls, appetizers, desserts, baos). I just hope she doesn't forget our order next time.

Apparently this is a very famous restaurant in Taiwan so it's great that we can try it here in Toronto! My Taiwanese friend did the ordering as she was familiar with the popular dishes to try. She ordered two lunch specials. One lunch set was a little pricier for about $25 but if you pay cash there is 10% off on this item. This lunch set was really worth it as this combo included 6 side dishes, a main dish with a soup or milk tea...and for the main dish, you could choose Danmi noodles or Minced pork rice and we picked the noodles since we got the Pork Hock & Minced pork rice for our 2nd lunch set. The two of us shared all the items except my friend insisted that I have the marinated abalone side dish and this was so good! I will definitely be coming back because of this dish! I also liked the Danmi noodles and Pork Hock. Although the food was amazing but the service was lacking. It wasn't busy when we got there just before noon on a Wednesday and we had to wave the staff for help several times and the staff didn't even take our order correctly as we had asked for two tea and they only brought one. I will still be back as the food was really good and I love Taiwanese food!
