    Marinated egg rice roll
    Vivian C.

Was out running errands in the area, and needed lunch. I remembered that I had Good Morning on my list to try for the longest time. And because I've read reviews that if they're busy the wait for food can get long, I've avoided coming with the kids. After shopping at T&T, I tried to find Good Morning. For some reason I thought it was one of the outdoor shops. But they're on the second floor above T&T. All these years, I had no idea there were shops above T&T! My husband and I ordered the Marinated Egg Rice Roll, the Taiwan Sausage Rice Roll, and the Taiwanese Egg Pancake (2 for 1 special). Out of the rice rolls, i only tried the marinated egg one. Inside had fried dough stick (a bit too crispy, I usually like slightly crispy with some chew on the inside of the dough stick), preserved veggies, pork floss all wrapped with glutinous rice. Very tasty and definitely hit the spot. I tried a piece of the egg pancake, and it was good, but note that it's spicy, so might not be good for kids. Unless maybe you can request without the spicy sauce used. Even though we were the only ones ordering, it did take 10 mins for our order to be made. It looks like it was a one woman shop. So be mindful of how much time you have it you decide to come.

Great grab-and-go meal. You order, pay with cash (maybe debit) and it's made then so it takes about 5-10 mins. It's filling since it's packed with Chinese fried dough stick, pork floss, and preserved mustard vegetables. I chose the Sausage option, but there's other proteins like egg or bacon.

A super hidden nook inside a building! Each item was delicious! It is a one person place and the wait time is super long....so order, go shopping at T and T, then go back for your order! Attaching the menu!

Small food vendor on the 2nd floor in Langham Plaza. They are located on the left side, near the back. There's only one staff on hand but she's kind and quick. I ordered the Taiwanese sausage rice roll. It had a good amount of filling to rice ratio and was stuffed with crispy dough, pork floss, pickled cabbage, and taiwanese sausage. The flavours blended well and tasted great. One thing it does do is fall apart towards your last bites. It's $8 for a rice roll, a little steep for what it is as it's not a big rice roll. They do have a many items on their menu, so might come back to try something else.

Food 4.5/5 Service 5/5 Vibe: NA Lovely little spot for authentic Chinese/taiwanese rice balls~ and they are DELICIOUS! They don't really have any spots to eat at so it's more like a takeout joint. Everything is made fresh, so the wait could be 15-30minutes depending on how many people are lining up outside. My only thing is that I wish it's slightly less oily, but overall it taste great!

I was looking for that traditional Taiwanese rice ball / burrito. There really aren't too many places that make this (some Shanghainese or dumpling restaurants do have it as well) but I had a craving and it was recommended to me. It was initially hard to find. It is upstairs at Langham Square tucked in the last row of small businesses on the left side after you get up the escalator. It's a take out place and they only make it upon order (meaning you have to wait at least 10 mins). Basically it's a kind of like a sushi burrito except it's Taiwanese style. They stuff it with a fried super crispy donut, pickled veg, egg, pork floss and then you can choose a meat like the Taiwanese sausage or pork chop etc). They're generally $8 tax included if paid by cash. They also do these wraps with a traditional pan fried onion pancake on the outside and then some sort of filling (I had egg with pickled veg). I will try to get a photo when I go back but I was sooooo mesmerized by it that I devoured it in no time and forgot to take a pic. Absolutely recommend for a quick bite!!

The decor is full of colourful lanterns and simple furniture. However, the metal chairs are not comfy at all. That could be changed. The service was quick for lunch. I got the business lunch set which the vermicelli noodle soup came quickly. I wish it was hotter in temperature and that it had more coriander. I also had to ask for the black vinegar to go with it which it should have been given. The spicy sauce was already at the table. The pickled cabbage was a nice crunchy side. The winter melon tea was nice, but not enough tapioca since I paid extra for that. The popcorn chicken was amazing. They nailed that one and also, the deep fried tofu. It reminded me of my trips to Taiwan. The boiled veggies were a nice touch to the meal. To end it off, we shared a hot tofu dessert dish. Overall, it was a great experience. There could be some changes to the restaurant, but I know their focus is on two main traditional Taiwanese dishes.

Got the mixed noodles and mixed chicken and pork rice. Also got the sweet potato fries to start, very sweet. It's similar to the honey butter chips. The noodles had a Smokey flavour, very different than any noodles I've had. Loved the intestines and beef, tender and flavourful. The space was nicely decorated. Order via app and pay at the counter. Food came out quickly, everyone looked cooked already on the hot table.

My gosh, the sauce and the favour of the lamb hot pot is so authentic. The noodles that came with the lamb hot pot is a must order, texture, taste, smell just wow!!! The crispy shrimp was such a great appetizer. The clams were also so tasty! The stinky tofu was the biggest let down because the tofu was not cooked long enough for the flavour to seep through. We also ordered the green bean icy dessert at the end which brought us back to the old days. This is such an authentic Taiwanese restaurant with super warm and friendly service. The server even bent down at our table so she can be eye level with us along with the little things to show she cared. Space is much bigger than the OG Hoja with so many more dishes to choose from. Great for a group or solo dining. I loved the lunch combos too, the chicken cutlet combo looked big and crunchy! I can't wait to go back to try this!

Hoja means delicious in Hokkien which is a dialect commonly spoken in Taiwan and parts I China…read more I've heard mixed reviews about the First Markham Place location, never been because of it, so I found myself at the Times Square location on a weekday lunch. This Hoja location specialises in lamb stew. As the years gone by, I got progressively less accepting of lamb. Maybe because I seldom eat lamb or goat. So I didn't end up getting the lamb stew special, but ended up ordering the karaage and braised minced pork belly bento instead. I've was very impressed by the portions, variety and value. In the bento, you get a steamed egg, stir fried cauliflower, black fungus with dried tofu, a spring roll, karaage, and a healthy portion of rice with braised minced pork belly on top and a few slices of orange. The flavours of the side dishes were good, but unfortunately cold by the time the bento arrived. They really should consider dishing out the side dishes when the meat is finally ready. The egg was also lukewarm in temperature. But it did tasted right and I was surprised that they actually put a shrimp in it. The karaage however was disappointing. The batter was crunchy, but it was a stiff, hard type of crunch. The chicken was quite salty. One would expect fried chicken to be salty, but the taste was very one dimensional. The braised minced pork belly was solid with a good soy taste. There was a decent balance of lean and fatty meat. In terms of service, the younger server is a little bit clueless. When I told her that I had trouble loading the ordering QR code, her response was, it's probably bad signal. She didn't bother to offer me the store wifi or to give me a physical menu. The owner on the other hand was very pleasant, friendly and enthusiastic. She proactively went to all the table to check in on everyone. If I'm coming the next time as a larger group, perhaps I would give their lamb stew a try.

The C05 Baked Cheese Pork Cutlet is a must-try -- I had it over tomato rice and the melted cheese and tender pork cutlet combo was delicious. There were booths throughout the restaurant and it was quite casual with it being a popular spot for families on the weekend. Food: The house special Taiwanese style minced pork on rice was okay, but more savoury and not at all like the dish in Taiwan (which is more balanced and slightly sweeter). The portion for the three cup chicken was also quite small, and didn't have much flavour other than soy sauce. The mixed meat on instant noodles was very disappointing, with very few slices of pork and a Western-style sausage rather than Taiwanese sausage, and only a single piece of brocolli (similar to the minced pork dish). The flavours of all these dishes missed the mark and were quite disappointing. The desserts tasted okay, but also could've been better, with the pudding being quite bland and the toast being too powdery. Service: The staff were helpful in trying to help us use the app to order and get the free milk pudding. They were attentive and quick to provide us with lemon water and food was served quite fast as well. Might visit in the future for desserts, but probably not for a full meal
