We saw this spot and decided to give them a try-a stretch as we are so used to our local Ethiopian restaurants in the DMV. A smaller interior with traditional decor and furniture which was a nice touch.
We arrived around 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon a little after they opened. We were the only customers although it picked up as we were finishing up.
We found out some of the items (I.e Kitfo, some Wots) needed to be pre-ordered (day before) given lower volumes. We ordered Tibs Fir Fir and shortly after our server came back to tell us it wasn't available (reason-Injera had just been made). So we went with Tibs and veggie combo.
The Tibs had good flavor and beef was tender although mild when it came to spices. The veggie combo had most of the usual options with the Red Messir and Beet salad standing out. Shiro was missing and was one of the dishes that needed to be pre-ordered.
Service was okay and our Server was doing his best given many of the items we wanted weren't available. Overall, ok if you're craving Ethiopian food after Tapas, Tapas, Tapas-call ahead to find out what's available and to pre-order. read more
