I really wanted to love this place after reading some great reviews!…read more However, we felt it was overrated and disappointing. First, we showed up on a Friday evening around 7pm, and was told there was a 25 min wait. We said no problem and went for a little walk. We even walked all the way to another restaurant called The Shore to see the menu and then decided to try the pizza place. It is a huge restaurant with an inside bar and outdoor patio with lots of seating. The outside looks amazing, but the inside was cramped and super stuffy and hot. We tried to order some drinks inside but the bartender was super busy and then a server came up and basically told us to wait until we got seated before ordering drinks. After another 10-15 min, we finally got seated. I looked around, and there were a lot of people sitting and waiting for food at tables. The waitress was nice, and we ordered our food right away. After waiting an extraordinarily long time with no food or service, we waved the waitress over and she went to check on our order. Came back and said it would be 10 more minutes. Can she offer us some nuts and olives? We were starving so we ate all that was given to us. Finally, our food came out! We only ordered marinara pasta with chicken&mushrooms (since the meatballs were already gone) and one Cherrypicker pizza. The homemade pasta tasted good, but chicken and mushroom was skimpy. Then the pizza had great crust, but the middle was soggy and wet probably from the cherry tomatoes. It took us about 2 hours to get fed that night. I think many other people had the same level of service that night. The place has potential, but I think they need more staff.

When you walk into the restaurant you walk down the center of the building between two dining areas which makes it feel more like a takeout place rather than formal dining. I also agree with another review I read that said this Italian food didn't taste particularly special. Everything we tried tasted like something that your standard grocery store/home cook could make. Even the chicken Parmesan was disappointing! I was especially disappointed because we came to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and the waiter didn't even have any recommendations of wine pairings to go with the different entrées. The bread that was served at the table had little burnt pieces of garlic and was flavorless. The oil and balsamic blend provided had little balsamic in it and every time I dipped my bread I usually got only oil and no balsamic. The outdoor patio was nice until the loud noise from a car wash(?) turned in every 5-10minutes. In short, lesson learned, never try a new restaurant for a special occasion even if it's rumored to be related to a restaurant you love.

We had a nice interior seat away from the casino entrance and the decor and ambiance were very warm and inviting. We took advantage of the early bird special, which is a pretty good deal. The entree is a bit pricey, but the food is made with care and it's really delicious, and the special allows you to get a starter and dessert free. I had the creamy mushroom ravioli starter and my wife had the minestrone. I'm not big on creamy pasta, but the ravioli was prepared very well and was very flavorful. For our main course we had the linguini with clams (so many clams) and the risotto with scallops--both very good. The best part was actually the dessert. Very good pistachio gelato and the best tiramisu I've ever had. They could have skimped and just offered a slice of tiramisu but they added a scoop of coffee gelato sitting atop a cookie crumble base and a streak of chocolate-espresso cream. Every aspect was amazing, not to mention the value. The real star of the evening though was our waiter, Christina, who had a great lively personality, was very well informed about the menu, and made us feel personally cared for. Probably the best restaurant service experience we've ever had. Can't wait to return and try some of the other great items in their menu.

Having worked in many kitchens, the kitchen staff was extremely professional (open kitchen)... and WOW! They cranked out, quite literally, the best pasta I've ever had in my life! Our wait staff - Brianna and Ivan - were incredibly wonderful as well. Super professional, made sure everything was timed perfectly (we were talking quite a bit and it was taking us a long time to finish each course; they were incredibly patient), and lastly, they were so friendly with bright smiles. La Strada - Please, please, please keep them around forever!! I was grateful to be able to thank the kitchen for their art I was fortunate enough to consume. I really, truly can't wait to come back very, very soon! Thank you to all! (Next time I'll promise to take pics and update this review.)

We made reservations for a Sunday at 5:00 pm and I am glad we did because the space is on the smaller side so reservations are strongly recommended. We had Jenna helping us that night and she was amazing, we loved her. I started with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, the Salt Seared Calamari and the Hamachi Crudo. The wine was great and the appetizers were so good! The calamari wasn't breaded which I liked and served on an eggplant spread which was interesting. I'm not a fan of eggplant but I did enjoy that. The Hamachi Crudo was my favorite dish out of everything we tasted. The hamachi was delicate and almost melted in your mouth and the mint and tangerine just added the perfect splash of acidity. I could have eaten 6 of them. For entrees my sister orders the octopus risotto which was rich and creamy and delicious. The octopus was cooked well and not slimy. I tried the catch of the day and it was swordfish and absolutely amazing! It was light and well seasoned. I also tried the truffle mashed potatoes and loved how subtle the truffle was. For dessert she got an affogato with coffee ice cream and I tried the panna cotta. That's my favorite dessert and it was the best I have ever tried. It wasn't overly sweet and the berries added a little extra sweetness. We were both very impressed and will be returning. There is parking for the restaurant, one bathroom, and outdoor seating with overhead heaters.

We arrived at 5 pm as soon as they opened, and three people were there waiting outside..they headed to the bar, we headed inside the restaurant. They gave us a nice table of two in the back and the music was amazing with a serious old school feel...I think finding a restaurant that still embraces the past is getting harder to find these days. Our waitress brought some fresh bread to the table as we ordered two beers from the menu. I noticed that this Yelp does not have wine listings anywhere, so I snapped some photos for wine lovers to get an idea on selection and price point. I admit that I looked at the actual menu and already knew what I wanted before I stepped foot in the restaurant....ricotta filled ravioli in a butter sage sauce....yes please! Hub thought he was going to get the fettuccini, but at the last moment went for the spaghetti bolognese. Both our dishes arrived and they looked amazing...Hub was taken by surprise that two meatballs were on his dish...I guess we didn't read the details, but the sauce was still heartily filled with meat...and he ended up eating the meatballs anyway. Both of us cleaned our dishes. As we got the final bill, we applauded the waitress with how much we liked it, and she informed us that the owner was back there doing all the cooking. By the time we left, nearly the whole restaurant was full by 6pm....on a Tuesday...Wow!

Very comfortable and classic upper level interior decorating makes one feel right at home as if you were in Italy. The service was very attentive without being overbearing or irritating. We had four at our party and started off with the garlic bread as a appetizers while we perused the menu. A Italian red blend bottle of wine was ordered for all 4 of use to share. Typically when eating clams I normally would have gone with a white but it wasn't too big and bold and paired well with my dish. I ordered one of my favorite dishes, (assuming its done right!) Spaghetti alle Vongole: House-made spaghetti, Manila Clams, EVOO, garlic, red pepper, white wine. It was delicious and I truly need to mention I am supper picky about my pasta and clams dishes. This one was done to perfection. My dining partner ordered the Vitello con Funghi: Medallions of Provimi veal tenderloin with mushrooms, demi-glace, & white truffle oil with creamy polenta. she was quite pleased with the tenderness of the meat as it melted inher mouth. The polenta was perfectly cooked. The other couple at our dinner this evening ordered the same dish each: Pollo all' Adriano: Boneless breast of chicken with mozzarella, prosciutto, breaded, sautéed, marinara sauce & cheese with penne marinara. They also were very plese and this dish is huge! they both grabbed a doggy bag for at least half the meal each. After a nice dinner we were too stuffed to order dessert but it looked amazing.

The reason they didnt knock it out of the park tonight was a weird one. The prompt service, almost came across as rushing us a few times. Turn times are important, but there are empty tables nearby. What seals the deal for losing a star was they are capping the breadbaskets at 2 per table. It is understandable to a degree...but If people are abusing complementary items just use discretion and cut them off. Thanks for dinner Zozo's! We will be back

The starter minestrone was too salty, beany, and garlicky; the garlic bread was way too buttery and salty; and the main courses (polenta with prawns--more like shrimp--and linguine with clams--seemingly canned clams) were both overly garlicky, salty or otherwise problematic: not enough pasta, huge wedges of garlicky polenta, etc. Happy to give them another try and update my review, as the menu had some really good variety, including some nice healthy-sounding dishes like grilled eggplant and cioppino, and the desert menu had some nice -sounding options.

While my food was absolutely wonderful here, being in a larger party led to some longer wait times. I would definitely come back to give this place another go. I came in on a Tuesday night for dinner with a large party - maybe 10 people. This place was requested by another in our party, as we wanted to show some people from out of town a good Italian meal. We were seated pretty quickly, and I was surprised how big this restaurant is. From the outside- it appears like a more intimate feel, but once inside, it is spread out and feels a bit more open and separated. While it was nice to have some privacy, I would appreciate a more intimate/ warm environment. If I recall correctly, someone mentioned that the owners had changed hands overtime, so maybe this might have something to do with it. We waited awhile for our full party to arrive, although we were still able to be seated for some drinks and light appetizers which was nice. From the time that everyone had arrived and our orders had been placed, it was quite awhile. I found our table went a few times with wanting some drinks refills and couldn't locate a server. Maybe this is where the traditional Italian ways come in and you're not rushed for things and have to ask for what you need. To eat, I had the lasagna Bolognese and wowwee talk about a meal. I probably got 4 meals out of the one dish! It was compact but very flavorful and delicious. I couldn't try to finish this if I wanted to, although it was tasty enough to tempt me. Paired with some red wine, this would be a wonderful meal to eat, and possibly share. Looking back on my experience, I would love to try some other options and see if being in a smaller party would enhance our time here. It appears they have rooftop seating which could be nice to see the downtown lights at night.
