This place was unexpectedly good. We had the osso bucco and the bolognese. Fantastic food! My husband had the smoked old fashioned which was a great presentation. Nice atmosphere and good service.

    1. Wait time: we waited at least 30 minutes probably more after our reservation time. Not sure why they enforce such a strict reservation policy (with late/cancel charges) yet cannot seat everyone on time in a timely manner. When we were finally brought to our seat, we all many many empty tables so that made us even more confused about the extra wait. 2. Service: lackluster. Our server kept forgetting orders, coming back and forth, others were forgetting things we requested such as bread, and overall service was overall extremely slow. They were all very nice and polite, but they really need to work on efficiency. Food also took awhile for each dish, check took forever to come. Our entire meal took 2 hours! 3. Food was alright, nothing to write home about. I got their famous mushroom ravioli (7 pieces) but there wasn't much flavor. The one thing that stood out was the pizza; it was fantastic with plenty of topping; we all thoroughly enjoyed this one! Drinks while expensive was just alright as was the tirimisu. Oh yeah, one of our glasses had a fresh lipstick stain on it (see image) Unfortunately I would not recommend eating here unless you have lots of time for your entire meal. It is also very expensive!

First time in Reno and first restaurant! Atmosphere: The restaurant is located inside of the casino, so it's a fun walk to get there! The restaurant is very classic-looking, dimly lit - definitely a romantic vibe for date night. It's quiet and seems a but upscale (as Italian restaurants tend to me be), but you can dress casual. There's no dress code. Customer Service: Everyone was very nice. I noticed that a number of staff were older gentlemen, which I found pretty endearing. They have that grandpa vibe to them that others might find a bit awkward, but it didn't bother us. They're sweet. Parking: We stayed at the hotel and parked in the self-parking. There's a parking garage, but I'm not sure how much that cost (perks of being a passenger princess). Pricing: It can feel overpriced for what you get, but for a restaurant inside the casino, an uncharge is expected. It costs more than your regular Italian restaurant, but less than fine dining. For 2 people, we paid $200 for 1 appetizer, 2 pastas, and 2 drinks. Food & Drinks: The Smoked Old-Fashioned is fun to get because they bring the cart over and make it in front of you. The price ranges from $25 using Maker's Mark whiskey, or up to a special whiskey that is $65. I think this was more expensive than the drink is worth - it was fun and smoky, but I wouldn't pay $65 for it. That's just me. Mike was very pleasant in making our drinks. The Raspberry Martini was really good. They do not go light on sugar here though, so something to be aware of. For appetizers, we had the Bacon-wrapped Prawns. For Pasta, we had the Mushroom Ravioli and the Seafood Linguine with red sauce (which was what was recommended by our waiter, Christopher). My personally favorite was the Mushroom Ravioli. I don't think I'll be back to try anything else on the menu. It was a nice restaurant to try for a more serious dinner. You should try it at least one - get the Mushroom Ravioli!

Had a lovely dinner at La Strada last night. Wanted to take mom out before jingle bell rock show, and this was right in the hotel! Mom had an espresso martini, and the mushroom ravioli. I had the early bird special with the shrimp risotto. Food was good, our server was great, we shared my tiramisu dessert. We enjoyed the meal in the lovely restaurant setting!

My special treat place always satisfies. Enjoyed dinner here recently with friends/family and was so excited to go and enjoy La Strada once again. I've come to love and appreciate how well they execute Veal Osso Buco. So yummy and with the Risotto Milanese I can't think of a more decadent dish! I brought a nice bottle of wine to enjoy and I love that they do a corkage fee for that opportunity. Sometimes you just want a special bottle to pair that happens to be in your private stash! Service was awesome and our meal was coursed out at a lovely pace. La Strada drips in northern Italian elegance and give me more please? I'm reminded of many trips to Italy and my last visit just happened to begin and end in Milano! Beautiful restaurant!

It was my sister's pre- early birthday celebration. She wanted this place for dinner. I made a reservation First of all, upon seated on our table. Everyone was greeting us warm and kindly. Then our server and bussing our table was also attentive to every detail on table etiquette. I ordered there famous raviolli, my sister had lasagna, my brother in-law alfredo pasta, my niece had her spaghetti, my mom had marinara seafood pasta, and my had a chicken. Surprisingly, everything was really good. All top it off with fresh cheese. Oh they gave us, warm bowl of different kinds of bread. It was so good! I was eating the whole time. We ordered a ceasar salad, the server portioned the 2 orders for all of us.. Ambiance was nice, even if the place is a little smaller it actually pretty quiet and barely hear other people's conversation. The place seem to capture the vibe of Italy. We all agreed the food was sumptuous, my mom finished her plate and said this is her first she really liked her pasta. We all shared a bits and pieces, everything was delicious! The server gave us a Tiramisu cake, they pulled out one of team members to sing happy birthday in Italian, that was a phenomenal experience. Beyond our wildest expectations! The downside was my nephew wants more of that strawberries on that Tiramisu cake. Tiramisu cake was moist, melts in your mouth and doesn't taste much of a coffee. We loved it so much! Thank you everyone for making our exceptional. Our tummy was so happy, that we all ended up smiling and giggling after our dinner. I would recommend this place if you have special occasions, or maybe if you are craving for a good pa

Went to la strada solo and sat at the bar. I ordered the mushroom ravioli for an appetizer as I was told that's what they were known for. I also ordered the seafood linguine for dinner. The mushroom ravioli was good, the sauce was slightly under seasoned and needed something else to complete the dish though. The ravioli were cooked perfect and they were STUFFED with a lot of mushroom. The seafood linguine (pictured) was ordered in the red basil sauce. When it came out it was so hot I could hardly eat it, typically a great thing but with seafood not so much. When it first came out the seafood was cooked perfect, however, after it was cooked enough to eat the seafood was like rubber unfortunately. The noodles were slightly under cooked as well, I understand al dente pasta but this was borderline el raw pasta. The savior was the bartender Briann. She was absolutely amazing.

A perfect spot for date night or any special occasion! We had such a wonderful experience here. The service was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything--though our appetizer plate disappeared a bit too soon (we weren't quite done snacking!). They definitely keep things moving, so be ready for a brisk pace. The food? Absolutely delicious. We started with the Fritto Misto--a crispy, flavorful mix of calamari, shrimp, and artichokes with pomodoro sauce and lemon pepper aioli. The Uncle Willie's Meat Ravioli was classic comfort, with rich, perfectly seasoned sauce. The Seafood Linguine was a total win--loaded with clams, mussels, calamari, and shrimp in a dreamy white wine sauce. And the Steak Fiorentina? Grilled to perfection and bursting with flavor. We wrapped it up with Sicilian cannoli--sweet, crunchy, and the perfect finish. The wine list was impressive, and the champagne flight was such a fun touch. The ambiance tied it all together: cozy Italian vibes, live music, and a relaxed but elevated feel. Overall: Fantastic food, great energy, and the kind of place that makes dinner feel like a celebration.

La Strada, tucked inside the Eldorado Resort Casino in Reno, delivers a reliably enjoyable Italian dinner with some standout dishes and friendly service. While it earns a solid four stars from me, there are a few areas where it feels like it's coasting on nostalgia rather than pushing forward. The vibe is classic Italian trattoria--think warm lighting and Italian music playing throughout. The music fits the theme but can get a bit loud, making conversation a little challenging at times. The space feels dated; it could really use a facelift to feel fresh again. The old salad bar station is still there, now filled in with decorations, which comes off as slightly cheesy and reminds you how long the place has been around. No complaints here. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and quick with drink refills and orders. Everything moved at a good pace, which made the evening pleasant. Garlic Bread Starter (complimentary) was really good. Crispy edges but still soft inside, with a strong, well-balanced garlic flavor. A great way to start the meal. The Focaccia Amalfi was ordered as an appetizer and extremely fresh and tasty overall, but the topping ratio is off--way too much tomato and not enough bread. At $20 for just three small pieces, it feels a touch overpriced. We ordered Chicken Parmigiana and mushroom ravioli for entrees. The chicken itself was outstanding--perfectly crispy exterior, juicy inside, and an ideal ratio of marinara sauce to melted cheese. Unfortunately, the included sides (roasted potatoes and asparagus) were disappointing: both arrived only lukewarm and the asparagus was soggy, the potatoes overcooked. I ended up ordering a side of pasta (which I'd recommend doing from the start), and it was very good--interesting hand-rolled-style noodles that held the sauce beautifully. The Mushroom Ravioli is a nostalgic throwback for anyone who remembers the old Eldorado buffet days (this dish was always the standout there). The ravioli are fresh, and the sauce is rich and incredible--easily one of the best items on the menu. Overall La Strada delivered a very good, enjoyable dinner with some truly excellent dishes that make it worth a visit, especially if you're staying at the Eldorado or craving classic Italian comfort food.

This restaurant is excellent! The table bread is garlic bread and it was soooo good! Can't believe they give this for free! My pasta dish that had prawns and vodka sauce was delicious! So flavorful! My husband had the seafood pasta with red sauce as it was highly recommended. He is always a white sauce guy but went with the recommendation and it didn't disappoint! We both agreed our meals were exceptional! Don't miss eating here!

Food tasted really good. Service was great, fast, and friendly. Ambiance was nice, and quiet. For the price this place was good. Very busy, but good service. 5 stars Seafood Linguine. Lots of seafood. Linguine was nicely cooked. White wine sauce had a nice flavor that complimented the seafood well. The bread basket that comes with this was pretty good also.

For a casino restaurant in Reno this place is definitely a departure from the usual. We had a reservation for 24 people and due to unexpected circumstances we were running late, yet the restaurant was very understanding and accommodating. We called and kept them advised and we really appreciated their assistance. Placed at three tables of eight my group was placed in a private dining room and it was delightful. The ambiance is very Tuscan Mediterranean and it's quite large. It's a higher level tablecloth type restaurant. Seated comfortably we perused the very well thought out menu, obviously Italian. It's also pricier, but worth the cost for the value. We ordered bottles of red wine and the array of choices was quite good, albeit on the pricier side again. Toasted garlic bread was brought to the table, and for my meal I ordered the Ceasar salad and the special and widely acclaimed mushroom ravioli. All of it was excellent. The salad was fresh and very well dressed. I'm not a huge fan of a Ceasar but this really hit the spot. The ravioli was exceptional and delicious. The pasta was freshly made and the mushroom filling was just right. Topping it off with a sauce and herbs fit the dish perfectly. It wasn't over sauced or overembellished. Some freshly ground pepper added some to the flavors. We ended the meal with a dessert and coffee. The service was outstanding. They are professional, personable and on top of their game. Our waiter even sang Happy Birthday in Italian to one of our party celebrating it. LaStrada is a good find and I'd definitely go back. I was quite impressed.

Wow! The potential that this place could have to be the #1 Italian restaurant destination in the Reno area is limitless. Unfortunately, the reality is quite a distance away from this marker. A fairly busy Friday evening we expected to watch bit for a table and we did. Once seated it took a good 15 mins for someone to acknowledge us and bring water. Finally, the bartender came over to ask if anyone had helped us yet. We let her know that we were ready to order. She didn't have a pen or anything to write on so she said she would remember. We ordered and she repeated it back. We waited another 15 mins and the assistant brought some bread. We wolfed down the bread and our waters were empty. We again did not have anyone check on us for another 15/20 mins. Our waters were refilled and we asked for more bread. The bartender came over again to ask how the appetizers were. We hadn't been served any yet. So she went back to check on them. She returned immediately with the plate of frito misto and our shared caeaser salad. Clearly the appetizer had been sitting under the warmer as it was obvious that it didn't just come out of the fryer. The Calamari was over cooked. The salad was looking a bit old. The dressing looked dry on the romaine and was also clearly sitting for awhile. Service was so S L O W! At this point we had finished our salad and appetizer. She came back to let us know that there was a "mix-up" in the kitchen and wanted us to repeat our entree orders. (Was this truly the case or did she forget our orders since she didn't write anything down? I'm not sure but...) Other customer's orders were brought out way before ours who arrived significantly later than us. Once we got our food the Entrees looked like they had also sat under the warmer for a bit. We Had to ask for bread for the third time. By now our wine glasses were empty but not once did they ask if we wanted another glass. The shrimp ala vodka sauce was decent. I ordered the Orcchicette with broccolini and Italian sausage. While eating I found a shrimp shell in my food! That's kinda weird eh? Overall, it was a huge disappointment. I realize that they were short handed but the service was horrible. The food delayed and it affected the taste and visual presentation. I probably won't return for awhile especially unless I get feedback that big changes have happened. I hate to hold this against them but they need to step up the game for the prices that they are asking.

The food came really quickly, and I loved the vibe of the interior. There's something so casual and chill about the place that gives laid-back vibes. I've been a server before, and I legitimately cannot justify a time where a server can say that to a customer. Aside from that the food was really good and would like to come back and given another shot. Hopefully this waiter does not work there anymore.

This time she had duck breast and for me the fettuccini carbonara. Fresh bread and a glass of Barbera Vietti completed the main course. Each item is made with such care that the meal will seem like a special occasion. Apparently each day is a special occasion in the kitchen at TKT. The fettuccini was the best I ever had. The carbonara was rich and meaty and the Parmesan set it off perfectly. Her duck breast was a large appetizer with a rich sauce. Then there were the desserts, panna cotta with berries and mocha bliss, a brownie with ice cream. Both fantastic! The small restaurant foot print adds a feeling of an intimate experience. But the flavors are huge. Try it you will love it as we do.

It's like a San Francisco bistro. I will say however, they do have a lot of seating in a very small space so it gets a bit noisy. We split a house salad, which was quite tasty. The lettuce was quite fresh as were the vegetables. For dinner, I had the papparadelle & burrata brisket in a spicy tomato sauce. The pasta seemed to be homemade and the brisket had a nice heat to it. It was flavorful and delicious. The service was also very good. Our server checked back on us several times to see if we needed anything and to make sure our water glasses were filled. It was a very nice meal. I will certainly go back!

They don't open till 5 PM and although it was a last minute call for reservations, the stars aligned & they were able to accommodate us for an early dinner time slot on a Saturday, Johnny's is definitely a favorite among our native reno Italian family who appreciates good Italian food. The usuals were ordered by most of the table - the calamari appetizer and garlic bread, then the special lasagna. The Lasagna hold a special place in my family's heart & is usually only what's ordered as it's considered the best in Reno by my family. It did not disappoint this night. I opted for a lighter dish and went with the brown butter, sage ravioli -it was just as I expected and the Petrale soul was another lighter dish that was ordered and it came out fresh and delicious. The Caesar salad as well as their house salad with the Gorgonzola and Italian dressing, minestrone soup we also had- all fresh and homemade flavors. The only Con to this trip was that we didn't get the extra plain bread that we ordered or asked for a few times and I'm a little uncertain if they give bread with the meal or you have to order the garlic bread -either way it was not a downfall. The sundae desserts were wonderful and they recognized the birthday in our party. We love this place and like to frequent it. Can't wait for the next great meal there.

We ordered a glass of the house chianti and it was amazing! I had the mushroom ravioli's and a house salad for an extra $3 which was well worth it! My favorite part is the homemade bread!! Absolutely delicious and Rebecca brought us more straight out of the oven. I love hot bubbly bread!!! The service is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect especially after traveling all day with delays! The prices are good and plenty of parking! Next time you're thinking Italian think Zozo's, you'll be glad you did.

Today's appetizers, all of which were really good: Meatballs - Huge, more than enough to share! Even with 7 of us. We all got a bite. Calamari - Fried well, decent portions. I think I ate most of this dish. Love me some calamari! Toasted Focaccia Bruschetta - Hit for our group. I enjoyed it also, but the calamari was still my favorite. Complimentary Bread - So good!! Always a favorite. We always have to get seconds. If you want 3rds, it comes with a $4 upcharge, but that is still worth it in my book. House Salads - Nothing special, but also not bad. Fresh, decent quantity, and with dressing on the side. Two Cesar Salads - Our guests enjoyed this. $5 upcharge each. Cups of Minestrone Soups - Good. Cup of Egg Drop Soup - One of our guests wanted to try this; $5 upcharge. Linguine & Clams - Both in white and red sauce. My choice was the red sauce. I kept forgetting that this comes with BABY clams as I prefer larger clams, and actually if it was still in the shell, that would be an extra plus. NOTE to self, do not keep getting this... Eggplant Parmigiana - Home run, both ladies that got this loved it! Huge slices of eggplant. Baked and fried well. Eggplant Parmigiana with Grilled Chicken - WOW, generous portions. I think my wife took ¾ of her dish home... She got another two meals out of it. Sauteed Calamari Steak - This looked good, I might get it next time. Our newest addition to our group. She also took half her entree home. Grilled Prawn Picatta - Not a large quantity, but because all of us (except one) are light eaters, our guest still took half home. Another good entree. I will also add this to my list for next time. Special Chicken Pomodoro - Decent portions, my buddy devoured this. He is a good eater. One of the few in our group, lol. Dessert, Tiramisu - This was really good. We should have ordered a second one... And to wash it all down, I got a glass of Italian white wine which I really did not enjoy... Atmosphere - Double storefront. We seemed to always end up sitting in the second room but not today! I liked that they had a bar in each room. Table, booth, or bar seating. Two unisex restrooms. Plenty of parking. See pictures for business hours. Open 6 days a week; closed Mondays. Service - Good. We had a leisurely 2 hour dinner and never felt rushed. We were catching up with our good friends and new friends. Price - $323 + generous tips. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1990 as Davos; we have been customers for a very long time. Glad we are back and introducing our friends to your restaurant. Mid 1990 - Coco Pazzo, then renamed to Panevino. 2000 - Zozo's.

It was our 1st time eating there however it had been on our list for some time. We started with the PULL-APART GARLIC CHEESE BREAD which is Focaccia, mozzarella, marinara, parmesan, frico crust and also ordered the WOOD FIRED OCTOPUS with crispy gnocchi, tomatoes, red onion, basil, arugula and topped with a Calabrian chili aioli. Both were fantastic, seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect temperature!! For our entree we hate the BEE STING pizza. Make with a 72 Hour Fermented Organic Dough topped with Salami, red onion, basil, serranos, mozzarella and honey. The crust was delicious, crunchy, thin and when combined with the sauce, seasoning and toppings, an excellent pizza. Additionally we ordered two of the in-house, housemaid pasta. The ARRABBIATA , a roasted red pepper campanelle, with Calabrese sausage, garlic, chilis, broccolini and topped with Parmesan, pecorino. The other pasta we tried was the BLACK SPAGHETTI, mixed with clams, scallops, shrimp, hot chopped peppers, white wine, butter and lemon. It was fantastic!! Cooked al dente and packed with flavor. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. The service was great, food was yummy and we definitely look forward to going back again soon!

The cauliflower was one of my favorites, roasted perfectly with great flavor, Fondue was creamy, hot and delicious, meatballs were super moist and bursting with flavor. The olives were dry and tiny and hard to enjoy due to pit. The backpack was ok but not great. Now, the pizza! It was absolutely perfect. Thin crust, perfect amount of cheese and toppings. I enjoyed the bee sting pizza, hot and sweet, and I love the combination. When I go back it will definitely be pizza, salad and cauliflower. The sever was a sweet young man. He was attentive to our needs and patient with all our questions. The restaurant is a good size, the bar area was busy and filled with conversation and laughter, the booths looked cozy, we chose a table near windows for outside lighting. The outside tables looked great for getting some warmth and fresh air. Many options and different settings. Sorry, I forgot to take pics.

But we were randomly in the area again early one evening, and it was a perfect time to try out their restaurant. Have been searching for a go-to Italian restaurant (Reno has so many Italian options, but it's been surprisingly hard to find well done pasta), and this is it. Their homemade pasta, perfectly cooked (not mushy or too chewy) with juicy shrimp (tagliatelle agli scampi) was exactly right. Portion size was generous, and it came with complimentary bread (oil and balsamic). Unfortunately, not enough room for dessert, but will definitely be back either here or at their new downtown location! TIP: Definitely worth calling ahead. The table seating is somewhat limited, but well spaced, clean, and comfortable. Parking outside at the onsite lot for this small shopping center can also get crowded. Also, you can find them on Sundays at the Riverside farmer's market and pick up some convenient and delicious frozen pasta!
