Please make sure you view my photos & Screen Shots…read more I came in and asked VERY clearly that I wanted platinum blond hair (my hair was already light blond, just had root growth). I said I wanted my under hair all back to my natural color, no highlights. I wanted it to be this way so I wouldn't have to touch it moving forward. My plan was only to do 1/2 head of highlights in the future. The "blond specialist" told me I would see the dark. I said YES that is what I want. I told her not once but 3 times I did not want it natural or blended. When I do braid tails I want to see the difference. So she puts my hair in foils and I'm thinking ok she's doing highlights on top and dark low lights on the bottom. NO she was putting highlights on the under parts too and a few lowlights that didn't even go to my ends. Completely dismissed what I asked for and did her own thing. Aswell she put in a 10 developer which DARKENED my blond hair. I didn't get anything close to platinum or what I asked for. Furthermore my haircut was completely uneven. I had so much gold in my hair. She also didn't do the highlights close to my scalp... they were uneven in many parts so of course I would have to come in sooner and spend more. It's a dirty trick some places do. I had an inch of roots by my part. Also the very few lowlights she did she didn't even put in evenly. I have panels and the ends didn't get any of the color. I have spent everyday hating my hair and felt ripped off spending almost $700 on a hair that wasn't close to what I asked for. On top of this they are jacking up product prices a lot. I got R&Co which they added an extra $20 more than the the company sells it for. After a few uses the cap became clogged to I contacted R&Co with a video showing the faulty product. The product is supposed to be a fine mist and as you can see it come out thick and not a mist. The company emailed me back telling me it is their policy that all salons that buy from them must either refund or replace the product and it would be MY choice which I preferred. I contacted Ari & Blair letting them know I contacted the company and what their policy states. I copied and pasted the email. I asked for a refund to be put on my credit card which they have on file. They refused and told me I could come in and get a replacement. I responded with no, I asked for a refund. It also costs me more money to hop in an uber as I do not drive. Again they are very dismissive and do what they want. Since they ignored AGAIN what I requested I decided to contact R&CO and tell them they are not following policy. This bring me to this negative review which I was on the fence about writing but after their dismissive email I decided no this experience is beyond bad. They are over charging, jacking up product prices, don't listen to what you ask and you will pay more than Vancouver prices for awful looking hair. Good thing Calgary has other places and I have already booked somewhere else to fix the awful hair they gave me. To be honest this has to be the worst hair color and cut I have ever had and the most expensive. I'm actually on the fence about contacting bbb about this. And slapped on a shit load of bleach ! I asked for a couple of streaks and she put bleach on my whole head . She booked us an appointment with her regular stylist (not from Pure Form) for up-dos more than 2 months in advance because we knew it would be hard to get someone on a long weekend Sunday. The plan was to go to the stylist's house because her salon wasn't going to be open on July 1, and we could save a bit of money. It all sounded perfect, until the stylist cancelled on us the day before our appointment!!! After phoning a few mall salons and finding out they didn't open until 11 or 12 am, my friend tried Pure Form, a salon that she used to go to but hadn't been in over a year. The receptionist remembered her and was very sympathetic to our situation. She asked around the salon and luckily a stylist volunteered to come in on her day off. We arrived at the salon and met Lindsay at 8 am on Sunday morning because we needed to be out of there by 10 am for wedding stuff. She was in a great mood and very friendly, especially considering the time :) Lindsay listened to what we wanted and encouraged us to speak up if the style was going somewhere we did not want it to go. She did an amazing job and we both left feeling fantastic. The styles stayed put for over 16 hours, through photos in the heat and lots of dancing. They always call to confirm appointments a few days before your scheduled appointment which I really enjoy because when my schedule fluctuates it gives me an opportunity to reschedule. So far all the staff I've dealt with have been friendly and personable and I haven't had any unpleasant experiences, overall I would definitely recommend stopping by and giving this place a try!

I'm super vain about my hair, so getting it cut is a big deal for me. I was super pleased with Stacey, my stylist, and with the whole salon. First of all, I came in early and they were super polite and talked about getting me in ASAP. I got hooked up with some delicious tea in the small waiting area, enjoying the atmosphere. It was very open concept, chic and open, and it didn't feel crowded at all. Love, love loved how gorgeous the interior was, which is exactly what I want in a salon. Loved getting my hair washed, although I was a little disappointed with the lack of scalp massage :( Stacey asked what I wanted, and totally consulted with me the whole time. She also listened to me chatter along the whole time. I love my one-inch shorter hair (I also like it when people listen to me when I explain that I'm growing my hair out). The Ginger Group was the first salon to pop up on Google and the receptionist was happy to get us in that afternoon (which came to a surprise quite frankly, because it was a Saturday, after all). Once we arrived we were kindly greeted and met by our stylists right away. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the gentleman who tended to my messy locks... but he did have a station right next to another gentleman who, to our excitement, frequently had his bow-tie-wearing weiner dog roam the salon. That was a cute touch. The space itself, was perfect also, with its lofty vibe and industrialized pieces. I, personally love a laid-back environment without the snobbery that comes with certain uptight salons. My girlfriend showed up with her hair drenched in coconut oil from the night before, and was extremely worried about being judged by her stylist due to the fact she too, had worked in a salon with women who were umempathetic toward clients behind their backs. Our stylists were phenomenal. The female who worked on my friend was super understanding about the oil and casually chatted her up about our plans for the evening. As did my stylist. My initial question upon entry was, "How much for a trim?" I was surprised to hear that it was only $25, but since it was my first visit I would receive 10% off. Awesome, I thought, let's do it. I was immediately seated at a stylists chair, since I was the only customer at the time, and promptly introduced to Sashi, my stylist for the day. It wa great friendly service from the two ladies working that day. My stylist, Sashi, really understood what I meant when I said I wanted to keep the length. She said she would only take off what was necessary to get rid of the dead ends. I loved her! She took maybe a centimetre off my ends, and fixed up my bangs for me. Once I was done I inquired about waxing, since many places are extremely over-priced. They told me I could have a full Brazilian done for only $40... I think that's pretty amazing. I decided to skip the invasive waxing for the day and just get my brows threaded instead. Now, I've never had the threading done, only the waxing. I've got to say, after experiencing threading of the brow, I don't think I'll ever go back to waxing! The overall experience at Trends was fabulous. I was in and out with a splendid trim and my eyebrows done in under 40 minutes... and it cost me under $40! That's a winner in my books!
