Jade, dissected my hair and accessed each area with a different cut, and then visualizing how the end product would look. I know an expert when I see one, she is the real thing. Will trust her with my hair from now on. The happiest in many years.

I'm from Toronto and being in a new city trying to find not a good but a great salon was worrisome,…read moreI'm very fussy when it comes to my hair. I needed a full head of blonde highlights. I asked a friend who asked their friend who is from Calgary where to go. She highly recommend Shag and to ask for Niki. Only learning during my appointment the friend just started going there herself. As long as I'm in Calgary I will always go to this salon, the search has ended. I feel so lucky that I had the opportunity to experience this salon and meet Niki. The atmosphere ( chic, positive, upbeat vibe), the customer service, the products, the prices but most important the manner and ability Niki applies her technical ability is top notch. She explained in detail how she was going to process my hair and showed me different pictures of blondes, making sure I felt confident and understood the color I decided on. The outcome was bang on! My hair looks great, I feel great. Life is great!

Tease me, twirl me, and just SHAG ME!!! Yes I've started a…read morenew love affair and Shag has gotten me all hot in the head. Well hair. This posh lil spot is absolutely dynamite. Parking is available to the side of the building and back, few spots in the front but I believe those are for expecting mothers. They offer a bevvie at the door, and smiles galore. Ever had long hour hair appointments where you find yourself staring into void space and dozing off? Shag is upbeat, the atmosphere is sleek with lots of eye candy, art on the walls and good beats. Magazines galore and WIFI to boot! There's also a communal table in the center of the work area which is great for socializing, and not having to be confined to your chair. I love it! More importantly is the craft that's going on in this busy hive. I have dark hard-to-dye hair, and if you have dark hair, you'll know where I'm coming from. Keeping a lighter shade of hair is an absolute nightmare, having to lift the roots and then color, and then match up the two over laps. I came in to have my roots colored, and expecting to have over dyed ends AGAIN, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need the rest of my hair dyed. Karissa is a master of her craft, and checked on me very frequently just to get the color right. I haven't gotten a cut yet, but that'll be my anticipated visit. The color set me back $60 and came with conditioning and style - just right as I was heading out that night. Reasonable, and moreso because I was so delighted with how well it turned out. Definately making this my go to salon, and recommending this place. You shag, I shag, we all should shag!

She's patient and beyond amazing. She created what I could only think of in my head and couldn't describe well. I was a little anxious since the stylist in California really messed up on my hair a year ago, but I'm SO glad I went to Lather salon!! It's just going to be one heck of a commute for a redo! I want to thank my sister for the gift certificate to receive a facial at Kolor Twist…read more I saw Krista for a facial on Wednesday, and I've been obsessed with the amazing results ever since. I've been to Krista for facials a couple of times and am always impressed with the results she is able to create. I've promised myself to go back far more often. Krista is also an amazing source of information and advice specific to your skin type and issues. The entire experience is wonderful, from the cleansing, specific treatments, facial and upper back/neck massage while waiting for treatments, and the final finish is perfect! I seriously didn't want to put make up on for days afterwards just so I could feel the amazing texture of my actual skin Krista was able to produce! Do yourself a favor and book in with Krista for a facial. You'll definitely be thankful you did!

Fantastic salon in SE Calgary. Very modern and good amount of hair products…read more Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They always call two days prior to remind you of appointment. Been going here for 6 years now and very satisfied. Complimentary drinks of Italian soda and spring water too. Hair stylist are very friendly and lots of room to sit and wait too. It's on the pricy side for a hair salon but well worth it. Overall this is the best to get haircut for south Calgary.

I understand the concept of highlights but this... my strands are all SEVERAL different colours from root to tip. I dont know how im going to fix this. Ive been so happy with my hair for years and now im basically in tears. My hair is ony of my most treasured features and now i think ill have to just get it completely corrected. Staff were lovely but for what i got i was incredibly over charged. If you plan to spend 300+ on what essentially equated to highlight and toner go somewhere else. I am really unhappy with the results. My hair is a multicolored frizzy mess. Im from out of town but i would not return if i were local.

WHO KNEW A LITTLE BANG SWITCH-UP COULD CHANGE MY DATING LIFE?!…read more Tivona was on holidays this weekend (lucky her!), so I booked a blowout with Sarah instead, and we tried something a little different with my bangs. I LOVED them. I left the salon feeling so beautiful, walked around the corner to head home, and a man literally got out of a van, started chatting with me, asked for my number... AND NOW WE HAVE A DATE NEXT WEEK?! Mind you, I was wearing sweatpants and a giant hoodie. No fancy outfit, no getting dolled up... just me and my new bangs apparently out here attracting men. Sarah, thank you for making me feel so beautiful and for accidentally giving me a whole new life experience I've never had before. You switched up my bangs, sent me off feeling myself, and LOOK WHAT HAPPENED! I absolutely adore my girl Tivona, but Sarah, you're officially my girl too! I feel so lucky to have TWO amazing stylists helping me reach my hair goals. Moral of the story: never underestimate the power of a good blowout, a little bang switch-up, and feeling yourself on the walk home.

I had highlights/lowlights done last summer which darkened the overall look of my hair and I decided I liked being lighter. He did tell me at the start of the appointment that it would take two visits to get me as light as I want, but he could've done a lot more for me in one appointment. He put a "full head" of foils on my roots, but did not put any highlight in the body of my hair. He also over-toned it to a very boring and blah shade of beige. During the visit he asked if I could help put his foils together which is not really a huge deal, but if I'm paying close to 200$ for my hair I would like to feel pampered not doing work. He also got one of his students to wash my colour out, and she was quite awful at it as half of my foundation on my face was gone afterwards. I seen no change in my hair after the appointment, was a complete waste.
