The new roof looks beautiful and is performing well. We had 3-contractors estimate the roofing project. To ensure fair bidding, we had the contractors bid using the same material and scope of work. Parkhill's cost was right in the middle. We are extremely pleased with our entire experience with the company from start to finish. The owner and salesman were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The office staff was very pleasant when they called to update me on the roof work schedule. The roofing crew worked well with each other, and their workmanship quality was excellent. The crew took extra precautions to protect my house and landscaping by covering them with tarps. Horrible company. Would give negative stars if possible…read more Due to space limitations we can't give full details or list all the problems, lies, or unprofessional business practices encountered but we'll give the highlights. Contracted with Hinckley Roofing to do tear off and roof replacement on small house. Subcontracted crew only tarped front of house and left other sides exposed. Majority of shingles and debris were thrown off sides and back, not front. Left excessive black marks on vinyl siding and large scratches/gouges on aluminum window trim where shingles hit. Only the front looked mostly okay because of tarp. Siding in very good condition prior to damage they caused. Showed us picture of front with tarp and lied about the rest being tarped until we shared video from security cameras showing shingles raining down against the siding. Their solution was to scrub each streak and power wash the siding, destroying the surface so there were glaring shiny and dull patches alternating across sides and back of house. This was unacceptable to us. Met with them again and were told if we gave it 6 months we wouldn't be able to tell; it would even out. Gave it 6 months and it looks worse. Roof cost just over $9,200. Bids from siding companies were all higher than that amount but Hinckley would only offer half the cost in credit for damages. Said anything more would be unfair to them. When we didn't accept their offer, we were told they'd put lien on house and we could work it out with their insurance company then. Deadline for filing valid lien had passed after so much time but they would file anyway. The only way we could get lien removed then would be to hire attorney and file a lawsuit to have lien invalidated. We opted to take their low offer and be done with them.

They were able to do the full roof replacement on my little house and some work on the detached garage all in one day (faster than expected). They replaced the chimney and vents with pieces that look a million times better. They went above and beyond in their work (craftsmanship, scope, and quality), and I can't spot one flaw. The team was so friendly and professional, and they get bonus points for being extra nice to my dog (they made her day). All that and they managed to stay in budget, and left the entire property spotless. You don't get that sort of performance without a great leader, so extra points for Eric and his management of both the work getting done and the clients. When I complimented him on this, he gave all the credit to the great crew, which is just another sign that he's a good leader. I was so nervous because I've heard so many roofer horror stories, but my experience is that there is at least one great one out there (Benedict). I'll be using them again in a few years for the garage and definitely will be recommending them in the meantime to anyone that I hear needs a good roofer!

We immediately fell in love with the professionalism of Bob at the meeting and wanted to schedule him and his crew right away. Bob and his Wife were very communicative, and very easy to work with! They were VERY close if not spot on with (maybe even early) with our scheduled estimated date of install!! WOW. Bob and his team were very organized and clean during the installation. You really had no idea roofers were there when they left for the evening accept for the organized materials left to resume the next day. When the job was completed, Bob made sure we were happy with the installation, and his team cleaned up SO WELL. I could not believe how clean everything was when they were done, and Bob took the time to look it over with us before he was the last one to leave the site. Also, Bob was able to inspect the whole roof for leaks and found a soft spot for us before it was a problem and replaced the wood. UPDATE January 2021: Somehow, Barnes Roofing managed to pull off a second miracle for me. I recently had a high-efficiency furnace installed, and the exhaust pipe from the old furnace needed removed. The HVAC team doesn't do that, as it involves roofing repairs. (I probably should have thought of this, but didn't. Lessons learned.) Anyhow - one call to Barnes Roofing, and my situation was resolved just over a week later. I can hardly believe they got this done in flipping January. Very grateful for companies like this!! They did not account for the 3-story height of the home as they threw shingles off and they landed on my newly powder coated (offsite) front steps all the way to my front door, and on a brand new deck and new patio table and chairs. I'm writing today because I noticed my painted metal patio table and chairs that were all scratched as a result of flying metal and shingles (as was my newly painted front railing) are showing premature wear as a result. My sandstone steps also had black marks from landing shingles. When I spoke to them about all the debris and damage they all but suggested it wasn't their fault. They asked me to email photos which I did and never heard back. I was too upset to pursue any further action at the time. One thing they did do was show up the next day unannounced and started sanding the black marks off my front sandstone steps. When you see the photos keep in mind they were working next door not at my home!!
