I had a leak in the spa of my pool with visible cracks. While I had a leak inspection M. Preciado could have easily taken advantage and said the pool required an entire replastering. Instead they heard me out and gave me options to work within my budget. The company always made themselves available for questions and coordinating the repairs. They were conscious about doing the work properly but also quickly. All the staff and various service people I encountered were very professional. Marciano, the owner, also came out to inspect this work. He's been in the business for 50 years! Bottom line is that M. Preciado is a very professional, reliable pool plastering company that helps you get the work done within your budget. read more

I had an amazing experience with M. Preciado Pool Plastering and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and professional pool company. Marco was extremely helpful from the very beginning. He took the time to answer all of my questions, explain the process clearly, and make sure I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. I have used M. Preciado Pool Plastering for both of my homes, and they did an amazing job on both pools. The quality of their work and the attention they gave to the entire process really stood out to me. Having work done on your pool can feel overwhelming because there are so many questions and decisions to make, but Marco made the experience much easier by always being available to answer my questions and guide me through the process. What I appreciated most was feeling like I was taken care of from beginning to end. They didn't just come out, do the job, and leave. They made sure I understood what was happening throughout the project and that I was happy with the results. After having such a positive experience with them on not just one, but two of my homes, I can confidently recommend M. Preciado Pool Plastering. If you're looking for a company that provides quality work, great customer service, clear communication, and truly takes care of its customers from A to Z, this is the company to call. Thank you, Marco and the entire team, for the amazing work on both of my pools! read more

Very disappointed in this company. Eight years ago I paid them $26,000 for work on my pool which included installing new ceramic tile. That ceramic tile is still intact, but in an approximate 5 foot of length the GROUT has come loose. The tiles are affixed, only a small amount of grout has chipped off, affecting the pool's aesthetic. Preciado Pools came out to provide an estimate to re-grout this 5 linear feet. Their subsequent quote to me was $600! Just highway robbery. I emailed the company, offering them a chance to provide a reasonable estimate before I resorted to Yelp and received no response from them. read more

Could not be happier with my recent PebbleSheen replaster of my pool. M. Preciado Pool Plastering was fantastic! Every single group that showed up for the various stages was super efficient, extremely courteous and the job site was always impeccably clean. Also, everyone in the office was most helpful, informative and friendly. I highly recommend M. Preciado!! read more

I recently had my pool, spa, and tile completely redone with Pebble Sheen, and I could not be happier with Preciado Pool and Plastering. I'm not someone who gives out high marks easily, so this five-star review is well earned. I got four different quotes before deciding, as I was very concerned about both cost and quality. From the start, Andy--who I initially thought was just a salesman--proved to be much more. He consistently followed up, made sure I was comfortable with the process, and quickly addressed any concerns I had. On a job of this size, issues are bound to come up, but every single one of my concerns was handled promptly and professionally. The quality of the work speaks for itself, and the customer service was outstanding. I highly recommend Preciado Pool and Plastering to anyone considering pool or spa work. They earned my trust and my business, and I would absolutely hire them again. Lloyd M, Laguna Beach My review... read more

Left with a pool that looks like it needs serious repair... Cost escalation was over 100%. We had problems after the resurfacing... They had to go back and cut out portions of the pool's surface, repair the cracks, then left big rectangular patches in our pool - but the best part is... they charged us for the problems that we believed they didn't address! Construction Defect litigation is blatant... read more

From the start speaking with David to the demo, the replastering and tiling to finishing off with Robert on Start Up, everyone was so nice and so professional and they all took such pride in their work, it was a pleasure. M Preciado rebuilt our aging pool that had deteriorated to the point it was unusable. They put in new plumbing, electrical, lighting, equipment, tile, plaster and deck-o-seal and they repaired several serious cracks in the shell. We are back up and running with a gorgeous pool and spa that adds beauty to our back yard. Their team was always on time and got each phase completed on or ahead of schedule. We enjoyed working with them and can recommend them without hesitation. We give them an A+. I've told them if a prospective client wants to talk to someone about the quality and value of their work that I'd be more than happy to. read more

David and his team did a great job from start to finish. We are very happy with our new Pebblesheen pool.

I highly recommend Preciado Pool Plastering. Andy was conscientious and was easy to work with--no pressure. The crews were highly skilled from plaster removal, tile replacement, Pebble Sheen application, and startup. Robert was extremely knowledgeable and conscientious with the start up. The payment system and contracts signing was customer friendly. read more

M Preciado resurfaced out pool last month. The quality of the work seems good, but hard to tell at this point. What really stood out to us, negatively, was the very poor customer communication throughout the process (after we signed the contract, of course), an unwillingness to treat customers with basic courtesy and an unwillingness to respond to feedback. I heard M Preciado is normally a subcontractor that doesn't work directly with customers and I can see why. A schedule was provided up front and then not adhered to. After the resurfacing was done, and only after, I was told we couldn't heat the pool or hot tub for 28 days. This was the first I was ever told of this -- we had plans to use the pool and would have scheduled around that. When I provided the feedback that it would be good to let a customer know this up front, I got an abrupt response about "well, you have to let the plaster cure". Of course you do, but you don't have to surprise your customer with information like this after the fact. And you can also say, "oh whoops, I'm sorry!" when a customer points out something you could have done better. A quick "I'm sorry" costs you nothing. At one point right after the resurfacing was done, I received several urgent phone calls and an abrupt and rude email letting me know that a service person had shown up to service the pool and I hadn't been home, despite the fact that I had previously been instructed to fill the pool and let them know as soon as it was done. A week of "startup service" was included in the contract. The dates of the startup service kept changing and no one ever informed me it had actually been completed. Maybe it never was. We went out of town for a few days around the end of the theoretical startup service period and when I returned home, I was greeted with an aggressive letter threatening legal action if I didn't immediately remit the final $500 owed (the check was actually already in the mail). Legal action! Never once did anyone tell me the project was DONE, thank me for my business or ask for my feedback. I could have been a happy customer sharing referrals with my friends. Now I am just a mild grump posting a 3 star review on yelp. Sad. read more

We've used M Preciado for a couple new pools over the last few years. The current pool had the autofill running 24/7. Jose came out and told me to hire a leak detection company. If the root cause of the leak was due to their workmanship, they would fix the leak and reimburse the leak detection cost. Leak detection cost $400. They identified the leak at one of the skimmers due to a bad plaster job. Photos attached. The report also indicated areas of tile that are NOT the cause of the leak but could be a problem in the future. They also provided a video that shows the dye going into the leak at the plaster/skimmer. Jose came out and fixed the leak by applying epoxy to the bad plaster job. The autofill no longer runs 24/7. Been trying to get reimbursed my $400 leak detection fee for 6 months now. read more

Our regular pool maintenance person has been telling us that we needed the pool resurfaced for years. We received multiple bids and we're happy that we went with M Preciado!. They were on time and on budget! I can't recommend Preciado Pools enough. They did such a great job on our new pool. It looks amazing and everyone loves it. We are very proud of the way it turned out and can't wait for the summer to really fully enjoy it. I definitely recommend this company to anyone needing to finish their pool. You won't regret it. read more

Preciado did an excellent job of re-plastering our pool. The crews were professional and efficient. They arrived on time, worked quickly, did a job that appears (at this early stage) to be well done, cleaned up thoroughly when they were finished, and met the agreed budget. There were glitches with scheduling because the re-plastering took place during the rainy season and was delayed a few times, but they always followed up. Our only criticism: they could have been more helpful to us in choosing the plaster color and the type (quality) of surface. They sent sample chips when we asked, but weren't proactive and made no recommendations, so we went to our pool cleaning company for advice. Other than this wrinkle, all in all, a great experience. read more

Wow, what a great experience! Our pool needed to be repaired, it had a rust stain from old rebar, and the glass tile was cracked and the pool bottom was stained and discolored. From the initial estimate (we had 4 different contractors bid) they were fair and guide us through the entire process. They helped pick tile and pebble sheen finish. The ENTIRE crew, from demolition to tile, to finishers to acid wash and startup crew were all kind and respectful of the property. We ended up with cobalt blue tile, Blue blue pebble sheen and Pentair LED lighting. Pool looks amazing! Big thanks to Millie in the office, Andy as our point guy, Chuy and Ramon...all great people to work with. Great customer service, quality work. I highly recommend!! read more

Preciado provided 2 different bids for the same pool within a matter of days (they work with different pool maintenance companies who pose as their reps). The bids were $450 apart. When asked to honor the lower price, they refused and were adament about charging the 3% CC fee which amounted to less than the $450. While it is ethically questionable to bid the same project on behalf of competing pool maintenance companies, the ultimate question is why Preciado is bidding different amounts for the same pool within days of each other and not honoring the lower bid. When we called them to address this over the phone, the person on the phone was very aggressive and refused to help address this matter. read more

We can't say enough about the service and the results we achieved with M Preciado Pool Plastering. Andy was a pleasure to work with and he was patient as we went through the decision-making process on the color and the product for our pool / plaster remodel. The front office kept in touch with us, making sure we knew what was happening next. On the day of the installation, the crew was courteous, professional, and highly capable. Follow-up service by Robert - who led the start-up of the pool - was incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. He was a pleasure to work with and a wealth of knowledge and information. Robert also alerted Andy to some cement grinding that was being done in our backyard and Andy proactively arranged for Robert to come back and give the pool a thorough cleaning. He also identified some plumbing and equipment issues and helped us get to a resolution. Just a great experience and we would not hesitate to recommend this company, Andy, and Robert. read more

We had a great experience with M Preciado Pool Plastering. Every step in the process was completed on time and correct and the end result looks great. We are very happy with the final product and would definitely recommend them for pool replastering and retiling. The only things to note that could have been better are communication about what day and time the teams would arrive. The first day was confirmed in the contract, but each of the other steps I had to email/call to find out what to expect next. The day of the tile I had not heard back on when to expect them - they just showed up. I think they could be a little better about their follow up with clients on scheduling, but this was not a big deal and would not keep us from recommending or working with them again. Also, be aware. When you get a bid, it only includes a tile from a level 1-3 at the tile store they work with. When we went, there were no tile options that we would have considered in that category (they are all the most basic in color, material and shape) and very few to choose from. I would imagine that most customers would choose something above that grade, so keep in mind when you get the bid that most likely there will be a higher charge for tile. read more

We had a huge crack in our pool that we had patched up for a couple years. When it was time to properly fix it, we went with Preciado Pools. Not only was the estimate great, but the ended up finishing a bit early. They were easy to work with, relatable, and professional. Highly recommended for any pool/spa services. We did pebble sheen and are so incredibly happy and the pool was better than expected. We also added a second drain to bring it up to code, retiled, and added a vacuum specific line. Preciado Pools 09/10. The only issue was commutation when they would come to do any work. Tile guys just showed up one day, and I'd have to call or email to find out what time they'd be coming. Luckily, I work from home so it wasn't a huge issue, but it was still inconvenient. Fortunately, they finished a couple weeks before the original estimate, which was a big win. read more

We were waiting a long time for another pool contractor to re-do our pool when I saw a Preciado Pool truck at my neighbor's house. I thought I'd take a chance to see if he would take a look at my pool. He did and we had a date to start within 3 weeks! I couldn't believe it. They came and gave me an estimate that was very reasonable and helped us pick out colors and trim tile that was included with the price and got the job done! Run, do not walk away from this company. I spent over $23,000 getting my pool redone with nothing but mistakes and sloppy craftsmanship consistently. I paid for an upgraded pool plaster only to have huge white blotches and streaking appearing all over the pool after 3 weeks!!!!!! They claim I signed the discoloration disclosure and have no interest in repairing it. Do yourself a big favor and find another pool contractor. There are plenty of legitimate companies out there that do good quality work and stand behind their workmanship. Steve read more

This is my first time writing a negative review for a company on Yelp so use this as a barometer. DO NOT HIRE M PRECIADO POOL PLASTERING. They are an absolute nightmare. After over a dozen emails trying to get them to fix their poorly installed tile work, they decided not to remedy a fix that would have cost them less than $400. My contract with M PRECIADO POOL PLASTERING was for 10 years for a watertight seal and no mention of a 2 year tile warranty that they subsequently used as their excuse for not fixing the problem. What this means for people that might be considering working with them is that they WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR WORKMANSHIP - warranty or not. If you're ok with tiles falling off your pool, they are the company for you. read more

My pool was completely redone in Aqua Blue Pebble Sheen with with a brand new 7" spa and Omaha Tan stampled two tone floor all around my backyard and I could not be any happier. These guys are professional and everyone who sees our pool is amazed by how beautiful it looks. It looks amazing and the finished product is much, much better than what we expected it to be. Even though the rain delayed the completion of the project longer than expected, I was ok with it, because the project manager (Angel) always kept me informed when each phase of the project would be completed. Our original plan was to only re-plaster our pool in Pebble Sheen, but then we added the spa, then the concrete floor, then the two tone, and I'm glad we did, because everything came out just perfect. I am a homeowner in Beverly Hills. My pool contractor hired M Preciado Pool Plastering to install a PebbleFina plaster finish; the owners name is Marciano Preciado. M Preciado was also hired to do the start up following the plaster installation. The plaster job was horrible. The plaster is uneven and rough. There are swirl marks throughout the entire plaster finish. In the shallow area of the pool, there are unusual and unacceptable black marks. There is a large white section in the deep end of the pool. The surface in the Jacuzzi is rough with pieces of plaster sticking out. Here are some example photos of what the plaster looks like. To date, M Preciado has only offered to drain the pool and acid wash, which will only darken the plaster and expose the aggregate or sparkles in the plaster. I have told M Preciado that acid wash is unacceptable and will destroy the plaster finish. Pebble Technologies (Ron Soto), so far, has also been extremely unhelpful. M Preciado needs to remove and replace the plaster. I would not recommend M Peciado. read more
