M Salon exceeded my expectations and I would go here if I was local. We booked online ahead to get a timeslots and they were flexible with us having a later timeslots than our assigned time. I was visiting Toronto, my friend and I was looking to get our nails done. I knew I wanted Japanese gel and that how we stumbled on M salon. Getting to the Salon was not too bad. Note it is on the 2nd floor. They have 2 tiers of monthly designs if you don't know what you want, so make sure to check the Instagram to see them. Or bring a a Pinterest design and they can make it happen. Also to prep have a shape in mind as you can change the shape and color. They also have plenty of charms. I had Kazumi and I was HIGHLY recommended her, she is so energetic and such a sweet heart. She check in the whole time, so don't shy away from giving them feedback. I did pick a monthly special with a lite custom design for an extra add on. If you get a monthly special it takes about 2 hours. *quick update - Since this review seems so unfair to people affiliated with the store, rather than send messages trying to make things better, they have been sending me private hateful, verbally abusive messages, from persons such as 'Nhu L. and Lena J.' I think it's hilarious that people go out of their way to do this, grown up people. What has the world become ? *sigh* * I have been here a few times and I was pleased until this morning. Last thursday the 28th of August I went in the a shellac manicure, it looked great and I was super pleased. The following day I had a chip on my right index, I thought that it was super unfortunate as I was doing a very high end job with celebrities and wanted to make sure my nails looked perfect. I called the following monday (due to an extremely busy work weekend) and spoke to a man and explained the situation, he was understanding and wrote my name down, then asked me when I could come it to get it fixed , I told them this saturday (the 6th of September) and he said it was fine and that they would see me then. When I walked in today he told me to pick a colour, so I went and started looking at colours. The lady who did those nails was there and saw them and she thought it was curious as well that they had chipped so quickly. Then the lady who seemed in charge came and told me that Shellac only lasts for 10 days, and that they could only fix my two index fingers (I also had chips on my left thumb and pinkie finger which they ignored). The man I spoke to said I would get a new one done, and now this lady told me they would only fix 2 fingers. They asked me who did my nails and I pointed out which lady, they then started telling me that that lady wasn't there that day I got my nails done, that I was basically lying. I have never seen such bad customer service. Just telling the customer out loud that you are lying? If they looked up video footage they would very well see that she did my nails, and why go through the drama of accusing your customer? It was VERY inappropriate, especially because I had called in and made sure it was okay to get it fixed. This kind of abuse is inappropriate in a work place. I hope they can cheer up and learn better social skills, this left my friend and I leaving without them fixing anything. I am a fan of M Nails. Nice to have a good spot in my "hood". They do a mani/pedi combo for $35. The place is well equipped with the whirlpool baths for your feet and the staff takes their time over doing a scrub, clipping, filing and getting your tootsies in order. All the while, another nail technician is doing your fingernails. Great selection of polish --- most of which is OPI, some others. I do like my Sugar Daddy Essie polish for my nails, so took my own. They will keep a box with your file etc, and number it and give you a card for next time. I am already a regular. Parking is either behind Shoppers Drug Mart, near Loblaws on Broadview or on the street. It takes about 90 minutes for the combo with drying time. This is my go to manicure/pedicure place. Mila knows myself and my friend by name and always makes us feel welcomed. Mila and her girls always try to remember everyone's name, actually. Most of the clients there when I go are regulars, and that says a lot about this shop! I always get a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure when I go. They have a huge selection of shellac brands and colours, and regular nail polish as well. My nails get stronger with shellac and not weaker because of the technique of these girls. They don't damage my nails when they take off the previous shellac application. THIS IS KEY TO HAVING A GOOD SHELLAC MANICURE! Their prices are comparable to other shops in the area but their service and quality of work outshines the others. I've taken off one star because the store isn't a fancy spa like place, and for some people, that is important to them. For me, as long as it's clean and the quality is amazing, I'm more than happy. $15 manicures, $35 mani-pedis. A small little space which is certainly maximized by their team. I stopped by without an appointment for a manicure - within 10 minutes I was sitting with Mila who was very kind and friendly. She did a great job on my nails; didn't miss a spot with the polish, cleaned my cuticles well. Hand massage was a little dry on account of her not using enough lotion. Mila had another customer who came in 10 minutes after we began and was happy to wait while she finished up with me. Saying "hi" on my way out, this customer said she'd been seeing Mila for over 8-years and following her to whichever salon she was working in. That's high praise. Cleanliness was pretty good - lots of sweeping and sanitizing of the pedicure bins, although the place is a bit rough around the edges. Customer service is friendly and they seemed to be very very busy despite several other salons around the area. You get the vibe that this is a real community spot. They didn't seem very familiar with their Point of Sale system (or at least with English, and following the instructions) so I had to help. Not a huge wrinkle for me, but perhaps a bit of a liability (potentially) for them. If you look them up on BodySafe TO (Public Health website - https://www.toronto.ca/community-people/health-wellness-care/health-programs-advice/bodysafe/), they didn't pass the inspection b/c they were not sterilizing their instruments properly. I went to get a mani/pedi and the customer service was ridiculous. They rushed me, pulling my hand in one direction, and my feet in the other direction, like I was silly putty. They would also periodically leave me to go to the cash register to cash someone out, and then came back without washing their hands. Made an appointment to get my nails done here before heading to B.C. for a wedding. They were prompt and started my appointment on time, doing both the manicure and pedicure simultaneously. They did a great job, and gave massages to both my hands and feet. (I've noticed a lot of places have stopped doing that, which always disappoints me). I've been to M Nails several times now, it's my new go-to place for "cheap and cheerful" pedicures. The staff is incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make the experience wonderful - offering green tea and bottled water, bringing magazines to you, and of course the massaging chairs. I have had some gnarly toenails from running and they don't comment or snicker about them, which I really appreciate. They have a good selection of polish brands and colours and as others have noted they keep a box with your own file and pumice. The one time I had a small issue with the polish application (very uneven on one big toe), they were very apologetic and went so far as redoing all of the nails (which I totally wasn't expecting). I'm leaving a two star review because although my pedi was average, my shellac mani, which was done at the same time, was HORRID. I've never had a worse manicure in my life. As an esthetician, I'm embarrassed of my nails right now. My nails are crooked, the cuticles are dry, ripped and not cut properly, and the "new polish line that just came in yesterday" looks streaky, patchy, and the polish spills over into my cuticles, which could have been cleaned up prior to placing my hand in the lamp. It literally looks like a 5 year old did my nails. The worst part of the entire experience was 3, yes, THREE employees came over to check my nails, and I could tell they weren't happy with it themselves, YET NOT ONE OF THEM OFFERED TO FIX IT. I am looking for a new nail salon now that Silvertips has closed. I went in o M Nails last Thursday afternoon and there was one other regular customer just leaving. Clean salon. Owner friendly and staff fastidiously sweeping and cleaning while no customers. Offered me green tea and new magazines to read in the massage chair. The chair isn't as aggressive as Silvertips' but comfy. Had one girl do my feet while the other did my hands. Good job overall. I brought my own polishes, buffer and file because my nails are so thin. They accommodated my wishes despite me being picky. I always pay cash $35 for mani/pedi and I give a $5 tip. I will try Urban Nails next since there have been good reviews there as well. I'll update to let you know which one will become my local. read more

I just came home from getting a mani pedi here and I can honestly say that this will be my new nail salon from now on. I showed up half an hour before closing (I kind of felt like a jackass) but they were more than happy to take me on. Once seated I was offered magazines and tea/water and they got to work. I basically sprawled on the massage chair and went into a blissful state as they were so attentive to detail and so gentle. The hand and foot massages were some of the best I've ever received, and they really took their time with everything. Once the polish was on and drying I told them I didn't mind biking home in the disposable flip flops since it was pretty late and I felt bad that they were still there on a saturday night but they sweetly insisted I stay until everything dried. Unlike other nail salons I've been to I didn't feel like another customer on the assembly line, they really seemed to care about me having a good experience. A million stars! read more

My expectations were raised so high by these reviews that my visit was a big disappointment. It was quite busy (good sign) except everyone was so disorganized. I had shellac polish on my fingernails that I needed removed. My gil put the acetone/foil wrap on, and proceeded to remove polish from three nails before asking me to move to the pedicure station. She clearly forgot about my hands because It took me asking how long the acetone should be left on before they proceeded to remove the rest - even giving another woman a crash course in removing it so that I could have someone on each hand to get it off faster. Even that was sub par. I needed to continuously point out bits of polish and I'm not talking about some soft pink, I'm talking deep red here. I gave it a three star rating because the place was clean, the staff were nice and they were open when no one else seemed to be but in all honesty, my experience was a solid two. Update.... This place is a SCAM!!! I've only ever done basic mani pedi there and decided I wanted gel nails instead this time. I went in with some questions about gel vs acrylic and was given a shotty answer, but I had acrylic nails in the past and decided to pay more and get gel. As he starts doing my nails I know he's giving me acrylic nails so I ask him about it and he says "this gel! This gel!" So I assume gel and acrylic appear to be the same thing but are different. Really close to the TTC station. The place was pretty clean. I got greeted as soon as I walked in. They had many colours to choose from. One thing that was weird, they asked me if I had "box number". I had no idea what they were talking about. The guy repeated himself like 5 times before I told him I had no idea what he was asking me. Basically, it looks like they keep the tools they use on you so that they can reuse them the next time you come. They had me write my name on my box at the end of the appointment. Don't know how I feel about that. Hopefully they still sanitize them somehow....weird. Wonder where they store them all. I got a Shellac mani-pedi; it cost 79$ (not including tip). I thought it would cost 35$. But it was my mistake, that price was for a regular mani-pedi. Must be some gold in the Shellac they used. If you just want a nice colour on your hands and feet, go for the regular mani-pedi. I had Tina working on my feel and Amy working on my nails. They were both really nice. I preferred Tina because she took her time and gave me a little massage (which she did after the nails were dry). Overall it was fairly quick as they worked on my hands and feet at the same time. I just moved here from out of town and went out on a limb picking a new nail salon to go to, and I was not disappointed. I got a bio gel fill and a pedicure. As soon as I arrived I was addressed and was told to pick a colour and my experience was beginning. Although the front room was full I was brought into the back for my pedicure. As soon as I sat in the chair I was offered a beverage, the remote to the tv and offered additional treatments by Ann. She did a great job on my feet and was preventative and vocal. Asking a lot of questions about what I wanted and if it was okay. She also did not scrape my feet because she didn't want them to go rough, she told me they didn't need it as they were in great condition. As soon as my feet were completed she led me to the gentleman who was doing my fill. He was delightful and efficient. Asked me what I wanted and checked to make sure my shape was to my standard. I arrived late so my experience had gone over their close but there was not at any point a moment where I felt rushed to leave. Ann helped me put my shoes on while my nails were drying and once they were dry I made my way to the front. Pricing was great, and not as much as I had expected. Overall great experience and environment. The slight mess did not effect me because I wouldn't expect such a busy place to be in perfect order by the end of a busy day. My friend got me a gift certificate for Christmas in which she paid for mani and pedi shellac. She paid $55. When I went to pay, they said it'll be extra $5 for shellac. I tried to explain what was on the certificate, they said you should of showed us this before getting your nails done. I ended up paying $16 because it didn't include tax. Overall, $70 for basic plain shellac nails. Would not recommend this place. read more
