After two plumbers and talking to the manufacturer of my water heater, Raul stepped in and saved the day! First, I have to give kudos to Morgan and her excellent customer service. My current (now cancelled) HVAC maintenance company just paid me a visit and told me I had to replace my capacitor on my outside unit at a cost of $430. I did a little research and the part cost around $60, so $370 in labor seemed excessive. I asked ME Flow to give me a second opinion. They came out, at no charge, and advised me there was nothing wrong with the capacitor. I am planning to set up my new maintenance plan with ME Flow. After several years of noticing deteriorating client service, I ended my relationship with them. The straw that broke the camel's back happened recently related to an HVAC inspection that I prepaid as part of a membership agreement. They gave me a 5 hour window for the service call and nobody showed up or gave me a call to let me know. When I called them to inquire why this happened I was told that they were overcome by service calls and clearly concluded to chase after the new revenue rather than honor a commitment they had to an existing client on a prepaid call. They offered me a new appointment but I would have to wait 3-4 weeks to reschedule. I demanded a refund of my membership agreement outlay and I'm still waiting for it two weeks later. Scheduled an appointment, was told someone would be there same day. 4PM I finally got a call that someone would be coming after their next job. 5PM nobody is here so I called and they said they just finished their job and are on the way. 5:30PM and I get a call that they're cancelling all the appointments because of a thunderstorm that already passed through the area an hour ago, and he was trying to reschedule me for the next day. First i like to say Charlie for the commercial hvac is amazing! Everytime i would email her or speak to her on the phone she was always so nice and responsive. Us being a business and having students anytime our a/c isnt working properly is alwayd an emergency because otherwise we have to close down for the day so Charlie always made sure she would get someone out as soon as possible. M.E. Flow recently replaced both my hot water heater and AC system. I highly recommend them. Without exception, their technicians, Pete LoBello, Gerson De Loza, Melvin Alexander, Kevin Rivas, and Brayan Gamero were very impressive; they were easy to communicate with and highly skilled. The new First Co air handler (with the new National Comfort AC through wall) is smaller in dimensions and supposed to be more efficient than the First Co model that it replaced. This required considerable carpentry and drywall skills (thanks Gerson) to close up the wider opening for the air handler from the previous install (roughly ten years ago). The end result with the smaller air handler and its cover looks perfect. I just need to get the wall painted. There were other challenges along the way and a few issues, but in each case, M.E. Flow addressed them quickly and corrected the problems. As to the contract itself, I was especially impressed with Pete's diligence in ensuring that I received the best one possible, including all-important two, new water safety devices to the air handler, hard start kit, surge protector, and very good warranties on both systems. As the new system is tested over the coming months, I am confident M.E. Flow will make any adjustments or corrections necessary to the new system all under warranty. Notes to anyone considering a similar install: While M.E. Flow will use drop cloths to protect your floors, I had Ram Board already in place as an extra protection. And if you have drywall and sanding involved, M.E. Flow will put plastic from floor-to-ceiling around the area and technician to cut down considerably on the construction dust that would otherwise spread around your home and be potentially a health hazard. M.E. Flow also has a heavy duty commercial vac for cleaning up even the small particles. Couldn't ask for more. read more

These guys cut corners and you have to watch them like a hawk. That's not out of line with the HVAC install and repair industry in general, but protect yourself and inspect the work. I had an install of heating and cooling American Standard system in our house. The American Standard system is a solid system, but the installation was not solid. There's a twice a year inspection and the technician is done in 15 minutes with supposedly 35 things checked and reviewed, so you know the work isn't being done properly. That leads to bigger problems down the road. If you flag known problems and they say they can't reproduce as we did, then you know the problem is getting kicked to the next contract, without being fixed. The labor and parts for that will fall on you regardless of the warranty. In our case, the things I specified that needing looking at weren't even recorded in the paperwork. I was told it would have to wait until next time. So I know that's not an "oversight". It's the regular way of doing business. I've also experienced long wait times to schedule with M.E. FLOW. Such is the business when you prepay contracts and then want to schedule in September and can't actually get the inspection done until late November. When you do this across hundreds of customers, you can make pretty good coin by rounding the edges and cramming in promises. You own Leesburg, so you can do that. Finally, when you go on a sales call for a new HVAC system, it helps if you do a Manual J. You don't. You just eyeball it and tell the customer what they want to hear. Whether you can deliver on that after the paperwork is signed is another story. I had to have you out twice to fix install problems and frankly, your staff seemed perplexed by the problem. That doesn't give me confidence in this system years down the road. I'm not happy, but I'm finished with you also. I'll take my chances somewhere else. Disappointing, but it's common for the industry. Buyer beware. read more

Trust Yelp! I've been using Yelp for service reviews for more than a year now. Real or not, with enough sampling, Yelp has given me good insights on service providers. I found out about M. E. Flow because of an HVAC replacement estimate in Leesburg. Although I decided to fix the AC instead, the M. E. Flow representative was by far the most professional and sincere. Fast forward six months, I called them to replace a garden faucet. I didn't get multiple estimates because of their good reputation on Yelp. The plumber (Tom) arrived on time, provided an estimate that was just slightly higher that I had expected, but the work was done very professionally (quality of the work was bette than I'd expected). A fair trade-off. Overall I'm happy with the experience and I'd use them again. read more

Very disappointed in the price. My water heater was leaking water and they told me I needed a new water heater and said I had to do it right away to avoid water leaking all over. He also told me that their prices were fair and that I was getting an additional discount. I felt I had no choice but to resolve the problem right away to avoid more water damage. I trusted that their prices would be competitive based on what the person told me. Once installed, my friend told me I had overpaid and when I checked Home Depot, the price (+labor and installation) was considerably low. ME Flow charged me close to $4k, and Home Depot had similar models with the same capacity and type at no more than $1,300 (including labor, no more than $2k total). I take responsibility for not taking the time to research prices and rushing through this, but I really trusted that they would be fair and competitive on pricing. When the home warranty company contractor failed to show for an appointment for an air conditioning repair on a 100 degree day. I called my neighbor Pete who works for M.E. Flow and who I have a service agreement with to provide maintenance. Although they couldn't send a technician that day, they sent Troung the next day. We he arrived, my neighbor Pete also came over to assist with the call. They both took great care with COVID precautions and were friendly and professional. Troung quickly diagnosed the issue and ordered of course the hard to find part. The M.E. Flow team worked quickly to locate the part and had me up running the next day. They went above and beyond to make sure I was kept up-to-date on the status of my repair...I even received a call from the service manager letting me know they'd located the part and would be delivering it to Troung in the field to save time. They were responsive and able to schedule me an appointment quick for a heating system inspection. The tech was pretty thorough in checking my system and he seemed knowledgeable. However, the recommended work was unnecessary and overpriced. He suggested I have the furnace ignitor replaced with a quote for over $300 but it's a $30 part that takes less than 5 minutes to easily replace. I ordered the part off Amazon and replaced it in only a few minutes. He also said the system was dirty and gave a quote of $1,000 to dismantle and clean the whole furnace. I took a closer look and it wasn't as bad as he made it out to be. It also looked like it could be easily cleaned and it seemed completely unnecessary to dismantle everything for $1,000. read more

This company is unprofessional and dishonest!!! I was asked information on my water heater which I gave and specifically told the person who answered that I needed someone familiar with the water heater model. They sent a supposed tech out who had just started working for them this week and was completely clueless as to how to even reset the water heater that I had already reset by following the instructions in the front of the water heater. I stepped into my back yard for a moment and when I came back in no more than 2-3 min later, found the tech was waiting on the phone for a tech from the manufacturer and asked if I wanted him to stay on hold and said I was paying by the hour. Are you kidding me??? I will be notifying the entire board of the HOA in my next committee meeting about your dishonesty. You will never advertise in our community again!! Upon calling a second company and letting them know the exact same information, the second company notified me that if I already tried a reset for that particular model, that I should first contact the manufacturer and Home Depot because that type of unit had to be serviced by either the manufacturer or Home Depot only. That's what honesty looks like. You will be well known in our entire community as crooks! How dare you even charge for lying and sending an unqualified person. In July, I received a service replacing a control board for the furnace after checking by the technician. After he replaced the control board, he recommended to replace a fan. For the best service, I would recommend to replace the whole furnace instead of replacing parts one by one. The parts are expensive. I called other company and they replaced the whole furnace instantly. Of course, I didn't get money refund for the control board from M.E. Flow, but I'm so glad that I didn't have maintenance service contract with M.E. Flow. I had a Heating/Air rep come out to do a diagnostic on the system two months ago - and he said the fan compressor that was making some noise was out of balance and needed to be re-balanced for $300. After he balanced it, the noise persisted and I when I asked him what it was, he said "A loose piece that I can't do anything about without taking the whole thing apart." And recommended a new unit. The noise only got worse so I called a different company to take a look today. The new rep found two meter cords wrapped around the fan causing the noise! Left there by the ME Flow guy! I feel cheated and taken advantage of - I will never call ME Flow again. read more

After driving 25 miles and waiting one hour for the plumber to arrive, I called the office to ask where they're serviceman was. It turns they never even put the appointment in their system, and that it would take another 4 hours for their man to be able to see my kitchen. I told them I'd take my business elsewhere. Full disclosure - I never received service from this company. They are the preferred hvac company for my building so when the AC went out, I called. The one star is because a few hours later, they called back and said the building had been doing maintenance so check with the building manager and he may be able to save me a service call. Turns out they were right and it was a simple fix. Thinking any company that is willing to do this must be more trustworthy than usual, awesome, let's set up a service appointment for yearly maintenance. Fast forward - they set me up for a Thursday then called me on Tuesday "the tech is in your building and finishing with his last call, he'll be at your unit soon" WAIT. It's Tuesday?! Bob on the phone said something about mixed up communication and could I still make it, well, okay. Last minute work rearranging but made it here in 10 minutes -- no tech waiting. Called 10 minutes later and the rep said the tech was already in another unit but she could put me on tomorrow's schedule. Wait, I was already on the schedule but due to your mixup, I rushed home, now you want me to take up more time? There was someone knocking on the wrong unit, the same phone they called me on 24 (yes, 24) minutes ago now magically doesn't work? Yet I'm the one that has to accommodate AGAIN. Not once did anyone apologize (I guess there are no apologies when they won't acknowledge that they did anything wrong). Do. Not. Call. This. Company. read more

I called ME Flow to report that my hot water heater was not working. No hot water, no sound of heating, nothing. The tech arrived and was focused on finding a way to repair it, not replace it. Pretty quickly, he found a relatively minor problem and repaired it for a very reasonable cost. The hot water heater is 16 years old. Over the past few years, I have had other HVAC/plumbing folks doing other work in the house. They have seen the hot water heater and tried to sell me a new one "because it won't last much longer". At those times, the hot water heater was working perfectly. Needless to say, I did not call on them again. I really appreciate ME Flow's interest in servicing the product and customer and not just selling another item. June 2014, my AC finally bit the dust. The unit was a Carrier.It was in the house when I purchased 10 years ago. Never had an issue until that June. It was old an needed replacement. I contacted 4 vendors and decided to go with ME Flow. All the staff was friendly and helpful. New unit was installed within the week. First issue, I notice a lot of water under the unit and in the housing. I called my original tech, and was told this was normal. OK, I know nothing about this stuff so I rolled with it. Winter arrived. I switched over to heat. No initial problems, that I noticed. The unit seemed to run endlessly, but it was the first year, so I assumed this was normal. My electric bills actually want up instead of down. I would sometimes here a tapping noise, but like I said, I just assumed this was normal. Thank goodness this was not a bad winter. The coldest air seem to come in the beginning of 2015. The first big snow is when I actually heard the noise, I was shoveling the walk next to the outside unit. I looked inside and it was a block of ice. I called ME Flow. I was told to turn the unit off, and that it would have to be thawed before they would even look at it. That took a couple of days. Finally it did thaw, tech came and confirmed I had a leak, go figure. But, it was still under covered. Repair was done. Weather turned warm. Then, two weeks ago I came home and my hard wood floors were buckling in the basement. I discovered the inside unit had been leaking. The filter was soaked. I called ME Flow. Tech came out and told me this is normal. Cost me $95. Last night I switched the heat on for the first time since last winter, this morning, the unit it sitting in water and is wet underneath. Tech is supposed to be out today. I paid a lot of money for this and can not believe I have had this many issues. I will update after I find out how much this is going to cost me. At this point, I am not totally unhappy, (with the exception of my floors), but do not believe I should be having this many issues either. UPDATE: My tech David just called me from Fairfax and told me here would be in Leesburg in 10 minutes... So clever, he diagnosed the issue over the phone. I have no issues. My system is supposed to leak water like this. I guess I will just have to live with wet floors and no heat. No need for a service call. Does anyone know a good HVAC person? read more

When we bought our house in Sterling, it had a M.E. Flow contract/agreement for service. After being super accommodating for the last remaining inspection, we chose to renew our service agreement. Then everything went down hill. In order to save our AC unit which had a Freon leak, they shut off the condenser unit, which sounds great until you realize that their will be no heat. Rather than preform the repairs on the spot, they asked to reschedule the maintenance (heck a simple call and they would have been given authorization to fix it). That was well over a month ago. I have called, filled out online forms, and have even tried to reach a Supervisor/Manager to inform them of my woes with their scheduling. I just wanted to re-schedule a return so they could refill the Freon, preform a leak test, and any other maintenance needed. However actually getting someone to return a call or schedule an appointment is generally an impossible task. Not only do they fail to respond but every time I ask to talk to a manager they are conveniently out of the office. I have figuratively bent over backwards in an attempt to give them chance to fix the issue, but it looks like they missed this opportunity. And my future business as well, which I guess is okay since they can't be bothered to actually come and do any work. read more

So I needed to have my HVAC system replaced in the summer of 2020. It was a very expensive unit to replace because I live in a condo, where only a very specific heat pump system will fit. I decided to go with ME FLOW because they had installed my water heater (for the previous owner) which sat in the outdoor closet in front of the outdoor HVAC system. You would have to move the water heater to access the HVAC system and I wanted to maintain my warranty on the heater. Despite ME Flow charging me to move the water heater in the initial quote ($800), when the techs arrived to install the system, they were not aware that they had to do that and damaged the bottom of the unit and the tray it sat in as I assume they did not have the proper tools. After several hours, the techs told me that the heating element of the HVAC system was broken ( I guess from the manufacturer?) and that ME FLOW would call me later to schedule a time for that to be fixed. I was just happy the AC part was fixed as it was mid-July. I waited two weeks or so for the call about the heating element. I then called them but the person who I called asked if she could call back to set back the time. I had to call again after a few days and we finally figured out an appointment. On the day of the appointment, the techs arrived but soon realized they had the wrong heating element. I was a little upset by this and the team had the manager (Mr. Dunn) call me to explain the situation. He told me that he would call back to provide some sort of adjustment, but he never did and when I called back, the receptionist told me he had left for the day. So on the morning of the third appointment to get this HVAC system finally installed, I was called by the ME FLOW team and told that the team was very busy, they might possibly get to me by 4pm but they might have to reschedule. I asked the team how I was not a priority at this point. The entire HVAC system cost $7000 (plus the $800 to move the water heater) which I had to take out a loan to pay for and after three appointments which I had had to take three days off of work for, I still did not have a workable system. After I cried on the phone, and the receptionist called the owner for me, the HVAC team finally sent someone with the proper element and installed the system. To make up for the hassle, they offered me a $200 refund and an extended warranty on the parts. HOWEVER, it has been less than two years and the indoor evaporator coil has a leak and I do not have refrigerant and the AC does not cool. I have reached out to ME FLOW to see if they will follow through and standby their warranty. I will update this review once I hear back from them. I am not surprised that someone else experienced the same issue about their guys cutting corners. I contacted them because my HOA has an agreement at a special price with them. I guess since they already have a large contract, they can be lazy. I was told that they flush the drain during their visits but the older guy who was assigned to my building in the last couple of visits has never once gotten water to flush the drain nor have I heard any air blowing (if he had used an air gun which I hear is not as effective as water). In every single visit, they tried to sell me a new HVAC unit because the sky is falling and R22 will no longer be available. Maybe they cut corners so that your unit will not function properly and THEN they can eventually sell you a new HVAC... read more
