I've used M.E. Flow on and off for about 8 years now, and when the technicians arrive on time their services are more than reasonable in terms of rates, professionalism, competence (with technicians only), and personable. If fact, with number of rental properties I own, I've even gotten to know some of the technicians. Unfortunately, the home office in dispatchers in connecting with customers is about 50/50 chance they'll get this right. I'd say out of the last 6 jobs, within the past two years, the dispatchers have screwed up improperly relaying my work (or cell) phone# to the technician. In the Washington metro area, there are many people that work in a secure environment so it's important that M.E. Flow call the right numbers (cell or office). Today was the last draw, I called at 7AM with a heating issue and they said a technician (one that I had requested specifically) was available in the afternoon. At 1030 the the dispatcher notified me at work letting me know the technician is available and will be on site in 30 minutes. I left immediately and waited expecting a call on my cell until 2PM. After waiting almost 4 hours I deciding to call the main office. The dispatcher tells me that the technician could not reach me because they had called my office. I was so furious (I wasn't the first time nor the second) I called another company. Again, technicians at M.E. Flow are great but the office dispatch workers can't function if you give them more than 1 phone number. DONE. read more

DO NOT use this company Poor customer service and the yearly maintenance contract is a total money maker for them. You will be sad you chose them!! read more

I called the Alexandria, VA, Penn Daw-Beacon Hill Office on August 5, 2015 @ 7:30 pm for an Emergency Service Call to an elderly person's home. They were very prompt and courteous to return my call right away. Communication is awesome from office, dispatch, technician to you. The technician was knowledgeable in diagnosing the problem, thorough, and patient in getting the job done. He fixed the problem with the ac unit and made a 93 year old comfortable in her home again. I can't thank them enough. I have used this company in the past. It is a great company to do business with. They are an old family traditional company. You can trust them. Again, many thanks. read more

I had to call M.E. Flow on one of the hottest days this year. Not only did a technician show up in within 30 minutes of my call, but they had the air conditioner up and running within another 30 minutes. Dean, aka Big Country, is polite, neat and explains all he has done and what should be done in the future. I couldn't be happier. Having a contract with them is worth every penny!! read more

We had ME Flow out to replace our HVAC and do an upgrade to a tankless water heater 3 years ago, to the tune of $14k. The install was not straight forward but Justin and the other guys who were out did a really great job. Three years and a month later, I found water leaking from the bottom of my Navien unit on Saturday. I called them and was told there wasn't anyone who knew those units available to come out right away. No problem, I had the leak under control and could wait until Monday. I called back about 20 minutes later because I had found the source of the leak, an air valve which screwed on the top of the pump, and gave the rep the part number. I was thanked for being so complete in letting them know the problem and was told the tech would call before arriving. At just after 9 this morning, the tech was banging on my door - no prior call as promised. I had left the access panel off the unit, ready for the repair. The tech's first step was to dismantle the ductwork from my humidifier because he said he couldn't access the water heater....ok, I was able to see what was wrong and wouldn't have had a problem changing the valve, but he's the expert. He removed the valve and screwed around with it for quite some time (cleaning it and moving its parts around) before reinstalling it. It was still leaking after putting it back together and testing it. [I wasn't surprised, not sure why we're wasting this time....] The tech then tells me that he doesn't have the part (!!!! So much for my telling them to make sure they bring the part !!!!) and he has to go get one. Two and a half hours after he initially arrived, he had installed the new part and everything was dry. He then tells me that the part is covered under warranty (a $7.50 part) but he's charging me $284 for an hour of labor. Good thing I didn't want them to put the ductwork back or put the cover back on the unit - they would have charged me for another 30 minutes. Guess I should have asked what the hourly rate was before I asked them to come out, but $284 to replace valve that should have taken AT MOST 15-20 min? The office manager tried to tell me that their rates are some of the lowest in the area, that what I'm paying for is their expertise, and they're doing me a huge favor in not charging me for the time it took the tech to go back to their shop to get the replacement part. This is no way to treat a customer. I work on nearly everything in my house myself so I have a pretty good idea of the level of effort needed to fix things. If i had needed them to diagnose the problem and fix it, I could see a charge like that. This was just highway robbery. read more

At one time I actually wrote a commendation for M.E. Flow's service for which I received a $25 off service coupon. I never anticipated that I'd change my mind after receiving poor service, communication, and billing situations. Now, I strongly recommend that you do NOT use M.E. Flow (6426 Richmond Highway, Alexandria). They are not trustworthy. FURNACE: My new Carrier furnace (a month short of 3 years) required an 'inducer motor'; cost $964 - almost a 1/3 of the furnace's original price of $3778. The part was under warranty, but not the labor. I was required to pay $329 labor cost, by personal check only, to have it installed, in addition to a separate service call to determine what part needed to be ordered. After taking my personal check, I called four (4) times before finally receiving a copy of a receipt of my check and billing. I still have no information on the new part installed regarding its warranty. Joe, the manager, would not answer any of my three (3) phone calls or the email left on their website. From the beginning we've complained about being cold. I run the thermostat at 81° to maintain 73° in the house. Obviously the furnace blower is not adequate and now to need a $964 part in less than 3 years after installation. I have a lemon of a Carrier furnace. PLUMBING: 8/20/2016, service call for a running toilet. 8/28/2016, service call for SAME running toilet. 9/04/2016, another service call for the same running toilet. 10/03/2016, visiting Son bought a flapper less than $10, installed it replacing the 'old' one which had 3 service calls and had not been replaced. No more running toilet. I'm a 93 year old widow. I feel I've been taken advantage of, badly! I need to let potential customers know of my experience, so that others are aware of M.E. Flow's poor service and billing practices. read more

I don't usually write reviews for companies, but I felt like I had to because of this company's horrific customer service. I called for service because our air conditioning unit was frozen. When I called, the lady said to turn off the unit. When the technician showed up, all he did was sit down and tell me the unit was frozen. He charged me $94.95 and told me he would have to come back the next day for an additional $45.00 fee. About 4:00 the next day i called and they said they forgot to put me on the schedule. The guy on the phone had a bad attitude and was very unprofessional. Don't use these guys. read more

The service tech (David) was very professional. ME Flow responded rapidly to our online request to have the AC checked because it wasn't working. I was very happy with the service. read more

I have used M.E Flow (leesburg) for a few years now and have to say they really do go that extra mile to help out and save you money if they can. Sabah Lopez, their warranty Admin, especially being super helpful with a recent query and miscommunication. She took a great deal of time to rectify the issue to my satisfaction and was most professional in her communications, even when i was getting some what frustrated with things. Will continue to use and definitely recommend. read more

warning - for loudoun county homeowners - we called this company because we needed a new 40 gallon hot water heater. the technician from this company falsely told me we had to meet new loudoun county code by installing a "pressure tank" in a town house with city water supply! i was given an estimate to install all the items that they said would bring our system up to code and that quote was for over $3,000.00. well i wrote everything down that they said i had to do to meet a new law and immediately called the county permit office to check on this "new law" well it wasn't true and my next email is to virginia department of professional and occupational licensing to report them! beware - i warned you!! read more

Only call ME Flow if you have plenty of money to throw away. My bath tub Water Faucet Cartridge broke. I called ME Flow. Plumber looked at the issue and told me it will be $ 294. I felt myself trapped with no water. He replaced the part in less than an hour and charged $ 294. There was still slight leakage which he did tell me prior replacing part. He told me to cut and replace the pipe it will be around $ 1000. I said him no since replacing cartridge major leakage stopped. I kept the water turned off. I called ME Flow to discuss high price and a very polite lady asked me to speak to Manager. Guess what, I called 2-3 times and Manager never called me back. I called again today and a female Manager told me this is our Price and she can't do nothing. Seriously, you guys charged me $ 294 minus cartridge cost $ 40 Equal to $ 250/Hour. Not to undermine the importance of Plumbers but this is way beyond most of Professionals will be making after many years of college education read more

We used ME FLow for nearly 3 years, and finally had to find a new company to deal with. The unit they installed 3 years ago had issues from day one, but they refused to acknowledge anything wrong - always said it was working great. The "super quiet" unit was so loud we couldn't watch TV in the basement without the volume turned way up. They came out time and time again, but only discovered the "problem" once it was out of warranty. A major part had to be replaced, but fortunately for us the part was still under warranty from the manufacturer, but it would cost $600 to replace it. I called someone else, and they quickly pointed out another major part that needed replacing, and showed me why. The unit was damaged to begin with - it had been dropped or something, and was bent. Something that ME Flow would have known from DAY 1 but would never admit. Thank God these guys came out - they picked up the parts, replaced everything necessary, didn't try to sell me 10 other things like ME Flow does, and only charged me $400 for everything. I will never use ME Flow again, and I would definitely not recommend them to anyone unless you want to be sold something EVERY SINGLE TIME they come out. OH - and now the unit runs super quiet, like it was always supposed to. Good luck if you use ME Flow! read more

HORRIBLE experience with M.E.Flow! We called them to look at our hot water heater because we run out of hot water any time we take long, sequential, or simultaneous showers. We asked them about getting a new or better unit because ours is small. First, they sent out a guy who was too fat to fit into our utility closet, so he could not even look at our unit (even though we told the front office that it was in a small space). He charged us anyway for the "diagnostic," despite having not seen the unit and told us it was a problem with the elements. Several days later, a second guy came out and told us it was a problem with the thermostats, which he replaced. The next morning, we woke to NO hot water, and we had to take frigid showers, which was even worse for me since I am pregnant and had just come from exercising in 22 degree weather, but I had to be at work at a certain time. The guy came back later that morning and his rationale was that the wiring was bad with the elements (which he failed to check the day before!) and that tripped a switch in the thermostat, which turned off the hot water. He "fixed" the immediate problem and restored our hot water. However, several days later, we had the first chance to test out taking simultaneous showers and after only 10 minutes, the hot water was almost gone. So, after all of that money, trauma, and time (they only work weekdays until 5, so my husband had to take time away from work 3 times), we were back to where we started and the problem had not been solved. DO NOT USE THEM! read more

I purchased a new gas hot water heater from ME FLOW in March 2011. In December 2012 they had to come and repair a leak on the hot water side of the tank at the nipple area. This repair cost $185. Now, October 2015, the same hot water side is leaking again. I called to schedule an appt and was told that being that it was a redo of the same repair there would be no charge. I was a bit leary of this information since the man did not appear to speak perfect English. However, a service tech appeared at my house and dismantled the unit once again to see that we were indeed having the very same issue. We waited for nearly 1 hour for the part to be delivered. Once the part arrived the serviceman configured it a bit differently than the previous two times. This repair only cost me $278 for the same repair that was made in December 2012. Oh, I forgot to mention that they gave me the contract price and luckily I had a $35 coupon that they would also take. Needless to say, I will not be calling them back for any more repairs. I don't know if it was the quality of the cooper used or the method they used to put everything back together, but I should not have to have had two repairs to a very costly Hot Water Tank this soon. The first tank I had (RUUD) lasted 8 years with no problems. read more

After spending 22K on new equipment with ME flow I would expect better repair service than what I recnetly received. When my 2 year old boiler system failed in the middle of winter, I diagnosed the problem and called to request a service call. They sent a technician to diagnose the problem who declared he'd never seen a system like mine before and proceeded to allow me to show him how to run the diagnostic process outlined in the service manual. After confirming my original diagnosis, he made the mistake of promising what couldn't be delivered. "If we don't have the part later today we'll have it tomorow and someone will call you today to update you either way" . I was charged $95 for this "service". Well needless to say no call was received. When I called the next day (remember it's winter with no heat/hot water) the parts hadn't even been ordered yet and I was told they would not be in until sometime the following week. I told them this was unacceptable and was told a manager would call back. I then proceeded to go online, order the part to be delivered the next day and I paid $338 for the part. When the manager called back and told me they could get the part quicker but it would cost $731 I informed them I did not need their services and requested a refund of their "diagnositic fee" which they have not done. Nice way to treat a customer who has spent 22K on equipment. read more

Why are you thanking me for my service? The damage has been done. Your CFO and President called me. He was a Vietnam veteran and was treated rotten when he got back from Vietnam. I thanked him for his service and welcomed him back. It is the way that I was treated by... and several other employees. I was hung up on and I was hard of hearing. I called back and tried to get help and it was totally nasty. Most veterans get tinnitus from battle. There is a law of how people with disabilities are treated as well.. I am sorry, but that is not what you do to veterans and disabled veterans. Your CFO and President will be taking care of the problem of how they treat veterans and disabled veterans at your company. I don't need to lecture this. I just find it sad. You all need to visit Arlington National Cemetery and thank those soldiers who died for your freedom and what you have. You need to pay attention to how you treat people. Customers are human and all I wanted was help instead of nasty people. Be happy you have a job and not be in North Korea or Isis. I volunteered as an Auxiliary Police officer during 9/11 in New York City and saw how people suffered. I helped out in this national emergency. I remember in Astoria, NY, I would smell the remains of the burnt World Trade Center. I just find it very, very sad. I hope you all listen to your President and do something for a veteran on Veterans Day, November 11th--not just me. read more
