Not quite a fine dining environment, but it's close - it straddles elegant and cozy/family-owned in a very nice way. Suitable for special occasion dinners, etc. Food has always been good - I've tried two different combos and liked both. Beans and rice are solid! I think the gorditas are particularly well done here - light, airy, crispy, well drained of grease. Also, if you like crispy tacos (which I associate with SoCal), they do those here well also. Their enchiladas are good, but I like them better elsewhere. If you like a mild sauce, you might love them here. My friends love the flavor of the caldo de res here (however it's made with deshebrada-style meat rather than shank.) I'll try this on a winter visit. I'm also curious if they make their own mole - if so, that might be my next choice.

Dessert was a must when flan is on the menu. The flan here is dense and deliciou, yet petite in size. Perfect portion size for 1 person and loved the whip cream that accompanied it. Service was overall good. Barely saw our waiter after he took our order, but they have lots of people assisting (bringing out food, clearing tables, etc). My food choices were great.
