Enchiladas verdes with over medium egg on top.

Great local spot when in town! I got the enchiladas verdes with egg on top and oh my god I've been thinking about them since I went. The cheese they use was so delicious. I will be back next time I'm in town! It is a very small place so bigger groups will probably not sit together but seems like lots of people pick up to go!

I was craving breakfast burritos; it was 7:30 a.m., and Tortilleria Crystal was the only open place near me. I was surprised to see that there was a line to order that went all the way outside the restaurant, and that made me happy because, most times, this means the food is really good. Tortilleria Crystal is a hole in the wall on McCombs Street in Northeast El Paso. They have a wide variety of guisados to make burritos to go, or you may also eat at their dining area. Tortilleria Crystal serves breakfast plates, tamales, menudo on Sundays, and others. Everything looked delicious, and the people in line assured me all the guisados were worth trying. One burrito is big enough to satisfy hunger. I noticed their staff primarily speak Spanish. Tortilleria Crystal only accepts cash and has an ATM by the register in case you have no money with you. It is a humble restaurant with affordable and delicious food.

Great local spot for delicious food at an excellent price. I visited on Saturday because I was craving huevos rancheros. Although I hadn't tried them here before, I've had their burritos, which my husband was also in the mood for. The huevos rancheros were exactly what I wanted. The beans were prepared just the way I like them, the papas con chorizo were perfect, and the eggs were delicious. They did go a bit heavy on the green chile, but that didn't stop me from giving it a fantastic rating. My husband ordered the deshebrada en chile verde burrito with some beans, and he enjoyed it as well. It had the perfect amount of spice. The service was excellent--very attentive and quick. The space is a bit tight, but it doesn't feel overwhelming. If you're looking for a truly authentic local spot, this place is fantastic, and the prices are very reasonable. Just be sure to bring cash; if you forget, there is an ATM on-site.

I was in town visiting some of my husband's side of the family. My sister in law suggested going here, she follows a lot of influencers and said this restaurant was owned by the parents of one of the influencers she follows. She had gone once before, said she liked the food and that it was cheap - say no more. The place is tiny, almost no room to walk around and very limited amount of tables. There's people coming in and out ordering tortillas and meat by the pound. From reading other reviews, it seems they actually expanded to the spot next door. When the back door was opened, you'd hear loud music coming from a guy playing the guitar outside. I looked up, and saw so much dust and spider webs on their decorations, they definitely could do a better job cleaning. My husband and sister in law ordered menudo, my brother in law had barbacoa and I ordered chilaquiles verdes. We all had manzanita sol sodas and chips and salsa while we waited for our food. The salsa was really good. Food came and we started eating. I am not a menudo fan, but my husband and his sister were loving it, made authentic to the point it reminded them of their childhood in Mexico. The barbacoa was soft and pretty tasty. The chilaquiles were good, but a little too spicy. I love spiciness, if a plate of food doesn't have a type of spice I feel like it's not complete, but it got to the point I was not enjoying eating them halfway through so that's saying something. I couldn't believe how cheap it was for pretty good food. Would recommend to check it out. Just beware with the spice level!

Been here before to get burritos and they are damn good. The chile colorado and arriero burritos are on point. Went today to sot down. Even with it as busy as it was the service was damn good and food was out fast. I got Pozole and man it had a mild spice to it and so much flavor. One of the best at a restaurant i've ever had. It is a small environment so if you are claustrophobic, maybe order to go. I wanna keep going back to try more items.

Very Delicious food, employees are kind and very quick, just make sure to bring cash, the atm inside charges you 3$ and the minimum you can take out is 20$. Here's the menu just in case you are curious about prices and options!

Best gorditas in town! Not a lot of tables though so you may have to wait. They close at 3pm, not 6 like yelp says.

While the food was never the primary…read morereason I returned, the excellent margaritas and outstanding service kept me coming back for nearly two decades. Unfortunately, that loyalty came to an end after a recent experience that was both disappointing and unacceptable. My family and I chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Every guest paid separately, and there were no issues during the evening itself. However, as the event concluded, multiple attendees, including family members and in-laws, overheard servers making derogatory comments about our party. Among the remarks were that we were "ungrateful," "cheap," and "broke," along with other inappropriate comments that no customer should ever have to hear. I brought the matter to the attention of ownership, hoping for a meaningful resolution. While I was told the employees had been reprimanded, the proposed remedy was a $25 gift card. After nearly 18 years of patronage, the response felt dismissive and only added insult to injury. What disappoints me most is not simply the behavior of the staff, but the lack of accountability and concern shown afterward. This was a place I once considered a reliable and welcoming destination for family gatherings and celebrations. Sadly, that trust has been lost. As a result, I will no longer be returning or recommending this establishment to friends, family, or colleagues. Respect for customers should be a fundamental part of any hospitality business, and in this case, that standard was not met.

The food arrived within about 10 minutes for our group of six, which was impressive. The complimentary fried tortillas were very good, and the salsa was enjoyable as well. I ordered al pastor tacos. About 8 large chile toreados, grilled onions.and plenty of corn tortillas. The charro beans were mostly bean soup. I actually poured some of the bean soup into a bowl so we could serve ourselves to avoid some spilling. The baked potatoes were generously bathed in butter. They did not provide any other toppings for the potatoes. Personally I think some sour cream, or Mexican crema de la Mesa, some chives, some other toppings would have been nice. The queso fundido was good but also a disappointment. It was missing the chorizo that I had paid extra for. The meat was very good. Well done but not dry or hard to chew. I was pleased to see that the chicken was not cooked into dryness. We did come across a couple of meat grisel or what in Spanish is called "nervio". This place has a small sign that states that if you pay with a credit card a 3% service charge will be added to your bill. I am pretty good with math and I pointed out to the cashier that they actually charge 4%. He did make a correction on my bill. Be ware of your bill. Otherwise they do give you plenty of food. It reminds me of a Mexican parrillada/ grilled cook out. The food here was very good, good tasting, and in spite of the small glitches worth it. We will be returning again.

Looking back, El Cometa is what started my taco obsession. Their tacos al pastor con queso are so good.
