It's a small diner style restaurant. It has limited seating but if you're in the mood for a good affordable quick breakfast, go there. The service is quick and the people are always friendly and pleasant and takes away from the stereo type that all NY'ers are mean. I use to live in NY and moved to Texas but every time I visit NY and I'm in the Bronx I hit them up first for breakfast. It may not have the space as say an iHop or Dennys but it's worth it because the food is ALWAYS good. read more

This is an original greasy spoon restaurant serving some delicious breakfast very quickly. The short order cook's hands are moving so quickly on that grill, it's like watching a three card monte on the streets. What a way to start my birthday weekend! My wife decided to bring me here for a nice breakfast before we started our day. HORRIBLE - I never knew you can mess up home fries, scrambled eggs and bacon / ham. The milk for the coffee was spoiled and the service is terrible, once they come the first time good luck trying to get them back. ....and the worst part our stomachs were so upset after this meal we had to cancel all our plans for the rest of the day...... So I called and placed an order for delivery. A man picked up the phone, I placed an order for a Philly steak wrap Deluxe. I said it to him three times, plus two apple turnovers, and one scoop of vanilla. And then I said I want to use my debit, the guy was so dense, He claimed to put the number in twice so he said oh, it didn't go through. No problem I said I had money in the house just cook the order everything is cool. So my order really came to $15.25. I asked the guy how much was it before I hung up he said $18.50. I said it couldn't be that much, I calculated everything and everything was $15.25. So now I get my order, I asked a minimum 6 * Philly steak wrap. This guy sent me a Philly steak sandwich. So I called back and ask him why did you send me the sandwich instead of the wrap. He said and I quote( you said no such thing,)He said it three times. I said I even told the guy that took the order I want the wrap. So he asked the guy in front of me while he was on the phone did the customer tell you that they wanted the wrap. This guy freaking lied on me straight up, he said no she didn't tell me anything like that I told the main guy I said he is lying I cannot believe he's freaking lying on me like that. We ordered 3 breakfast sandwiches to take out. The waiter told us 10-15 minutes. We waited over 30 minutes and the sandwiches were still not ready. We saw several customers who came in and placed orders after us receive their food before us. This is very poor service and we were not treated fairly. Outstanding greasy spoon breakfast! Sunnyside, bacon, potatoes with wheat toast - never had better. And the price could not be any lower - definitely beats cooking weekend breakfast in every way. What makes it so good? The fried eggs have the crispy edge, the potatoes have the well done onions and peppers that you can see in between the burnt bits. Love this place. I moved into the area to attend grad school at Fordham and this has become my go-to diner. Service is fast, friendly, and the food is extremely affordable and very good. There are few (if any) places in New York City where you can get endless coffee, a plate of french toast, and a glass of orange juice for five bucks, and M&G is one of them. I also get their veggie burger often if I stop in at lunch, which is very good and unlike any I've had before-- it seems homemade, though I could be wrong. There are two locations, both on Arthur Ave. One is just south of 187th, and the other is just north of 188th. The southern location seems to be busier in my experience, and the northern location ("M&G II") is mostly populated with younger Fordham students from the off-campus housing which is right there. I usually go to this one just because it's less crowded, though if you go on a weekend morning to either location, it doesn't even matter (super busy). Definitely the best diner in Belmont. read more

Foods pretty good, cozy , family dinner type of business. First things first, I think, the guy cooking and the guy taking the orders are family, or brothers of life, because the relationship they have, the way the orders are been yelled across the room and no mistakes , no forgotten order , no error in order taking is pretty amazing. The defrosted disk of "meat" on squishy sesame seed bun tasted fine, but alas something horrid must have been in there. I spent the next 36 hours of my life expelling hot fiery browned liquid from my anus and then thrusting my head into the garbage can dryheaving what else was to be banished from my body. Never again. An easily missed dining option on Arthur Ave, M&G serves up tasty diner-style treats in an area known for its Italian specialty shops and restaurants, and its mysterious Albanian cafes. It is tiny and narrow, but they have a counter and several tables for diners. They always have a soup of the day, and I've been very happy with the sandwiches I've gotten both times I've eaten here. If you want a burger, tuna melt, club sandwich or the like, it's a much better option than the overpriced Pete's Cafe, which I have never forgiven for the American cheese-Philly Steak debacle of 2006. read more

They give you cups that are literally the size of shot glasses actually they are shot glasses they are stingy. This is a typical neighborhood diner serving the standard fare. I ate breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. If you want a LARGE meal, then you'll be satisfied. If you want healthful, non-grease laden food, then you WON'T be satisfied. My plateful of food was VERY greasy, and okay.
