By far the worst place to do Business! I brought my boat there September 2018 and was told it is a quick fix and should only take a few days, mark the owner asked for 300$ upfront as it would be the total cost. It's now June 2019 I still don't have my boat he avoids my calls and messages. And when I do talk to him he promises to have it done that same week and he would keep me posted! But never does. This company should be investigated for fraud as I don't believe they do any sort of work there. Looks more like a junk yard to me. A civil suit might be in his future! Absolutely terrible!!! I saw Mark near the end of May to repair my pressure washer. I gave him a $60 deposit and received a commitment that he would have it done in a week. This did not happen. I had made multiple attempts to call, text and go his shop to follow up as to when I would get it back. No answer, and often no voice mail for my calls; no reply to my text messages and when he did reply he would promise to call me back and never did. The shop never appears to be open and the floor is covered with so much junk that it looks abandoned. In fact I had to go to his home to drop off my machine because no one was at the shop, despite having an appointment. For over the past two months this has been the pattern. Only after threatening to go the Better Business Bureau, Service Alberta and Edmonton City Police in August did I get a reply to come and pick up my machine. Do not go to this business; and if you do for your own reasons; stay there and watch the work being done in front of you. He is great to accept the work, just does not get it done in a responsible and timely manner. read more

Rate and review M-1 Small Engine Inc, 15005 112 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 2V6 The worst service I have ever received. I was promised my saw would be fixed in 2-3 days and they had it for 3 weeks. After 2 weeks I went in to pick it up and the lady at the front desk was physically unable to go to the back and get the saw. She couldn't climb over the heaps of junk and debris that was scattered all over the shop floor. I asked her to tell the owner not to touch the saw and to have it ready up front so I could pick it up the next day. So I called the following few days to no avail, the answering machine was filled and left me worried if i'd ever see my saw again. Finally after 2 day of calling the owner answered and said it was my coil that needed replacing and it would cost $130 to fix. A coil can be bought on Amazon for $30 max and takes 10 min to replace. I said I just wanted my saw back and I'd be in tomorrow to pick it up. So I call the next day and he says that he got a spark and it just needs a carb cleaning. I told him not to do anything to the saw I'll be there in 5 minutes to get it. So when I arrive, of course the saw is still in the back and the little old lady has to crawl over the junk pile to get the saw and when she brings it to me, it's still in pieces. To top things off they would not give me back my $20 deposit even though their flyer says FREE ESTIMATES! I asked to speak to the owner but he was gone again. PLEASE for the love of GOD find another repair shop and save yourself the torment of horrible service. read more

The fellow that owns this Business seems to come across somewhat shady. He wants money before he even looks at your unit. You have to leave it there and then he works on it. He calls you and says it's done ready for P/U. When I got there he doesn't tell you what he did to the unit but insists on another 50 dollars. I will never go there again. read more

Had an infuriatingly bad experience with this guy. The thin veneer of civility the owner possesses disappeared very quickly after I tried to explain to him that while yes, the PROMOTIONAL value of the daily deal voucher I was trying to use had expired, the PAID value of the voucher never does. IT'S LAW. Could not get him to understand that it was as if I'd given him a $20 bill a while ago and was now attempting to get an equivalent amount of service from the business. Money doesn't expire. He wasn't even willing to just give me a $10 blade sharpening. After repeatedly talking over top of me he went on to tell me that the business gets to decide the rules. Hey, you're right. Though if that's the case why there are laws that enforce a business' conduct and numerous consumer advocacy groups? *Shakes head* read more

I brought in a few engines to get repaired. He demanded a pre-paid deposit of $200. When I picked up the engines, they did not work - had not been repaired. He refused to give my money back. After arguing for a while, he offered me $50. I told him to shove it and that i wanted the full $200. I contacted the police and they advised they could not do anything. I want to shut this lying, crooked, a**hole, cheater down! If you have been screwed by this guy, join me in starting a lawsuit and give him what he deserves! Scumbag! Anyone thinking of getting repairs done here dont. Run, run as fast as you can away from these scam artists. Took a compressor in for repair on Oct. 20/16' and was told it would take one week. Here we are 49 days later. No compressor and everytime i call he promises to call right back................ nothing. i will have to lawyer up to get my deposite and compressor back but am telling my story so no one else gets taken. DO NOT do business with this company. We dropped off a snow blower for a tune up/oil change on Feb. 2, 2018. M-1 proceeded to bill us that same day for just under $500 for work transmission work that we did not authorize. They have told me the work has been completed but as of July 16, 2018 we are still unable to pick up our machine. We have called and texted many times daily to try and reach the business owner to have our machine returned. He either ignores our calls or will randomly answer and tell me that he needs to 'pull my machine out' from the back and he will call me back when we can pick it up. I have gone to the business on several occasions and the doors are locked with mail piled up.I have wasted a ridiculous amount of time and energy just trying to get my property returned to me. read more

I had a small, old mini bike that my 11 year boy was given. We were visiting from Calgary so he wanted to let his grandpa watch him ride it. But - when my son pulled the "rope starter thingy" (my words) open - it totally came apart. Lots of tears were shed when it wasn't drivable. Mark showed up to meet us at his shop, somehow found the part (it seemed impossible to me) and helped us get it running again. He made our day! Charged us very little, even gave the boy some lessons on mini bike maintenance!! All on a holiday weekend, on the Sunday and Mark had his baby girl in tow as well! All from a frantic phone call from me. I really appreciated it!! read more
