Absolutely awful experience from start to finish. If I could give zero stars I would. The first technician was rude, dismissive, and spoke to me like I was incompetent -- constantly interrupting and ignoring what I was saying. He claimed he fixed my dryer. He didn't. After it broke again, they suddenly decided it needed replacing. Then came the complete lack of communication -- over a week went by with no update until I had to chase them down. Scheduling was a joke. They refused to work around normal 9-5 jobs, then promised a weekend delivery before noon. Shockingly, they didn't show up on time. I had to call them at 11:40am just to remind them, only to be told to reschedule. They then promised to call Monday. They didn't. I had to call again Tuesday. Three weeks later, still no working dryer and nothing but broken promises, rude service, and zero accountability. If you enjoy being talked down to, ignored, and chasing a company to do the bare minimum, this is the place for you. Otherwise, stay far away. read more

Great value, amazing quality and fantastic customer service! It was my 2nd time buying a large appliance with them, and they will always have me as a customer! The first time that I bought something with them I didn't even go to the store! I called and asked if they had a white dishwasher, to fit under my sink. They found what I was looking for, took it to the condo, installed it and removed the super old and broken one. Today, I went in person to the store, since my fridge stopped working. They gave me a few options that would fit my budget and I found a fantastic deal! I called for my fridge to be inspected due to no cold air & it turned out being the evap motor " apparently " So I was told 10-12 days to get the part then immediate install ITS NOW BEEN ALMOST A MONTH .... and still no call back , the only call back I had was them saying " oh it's the wrong part sorry we'll call you back " Very unorganized , when you call and call and call all they say is " ya ya I call you back " and not even 5 fukin hours later still no phone call . Our clothes washer stopped working recently, prompting a search for a reputable, effective appliance repair company. The reviews I found didn't impress me much. Many were negative and some of the positive ones almost seemed like they had their relatives write them. So, I took a chance on Fort Road Appliances and called them. I accurately described the problem with washer and the guy on the other end of the line was almost certain he knew what it was. (Another place I called had the guy telling me it could be the wiring, etc. He didn't have a clue!) I asked how much it would be and he said he could be here the next day. I got a two hour window and he was here 15 minutes into that time window. He got right to work, diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I think he was here less than an hour. I paid what I was quoted and I wasn't going to have to worry about dirty clothes any longer. I paid cash, but I could have also paid by cheque. He didn't have debit and I'm not sure if he could take a credit card, so keep that in mind. The washing machine has operated flawlessly since. I won't hesitate to give Fort Road Appliances a call again should I need another repair. For obvious reasons, I hope I don't have to call them again! Appliance repair tips: - Do some research online before you call an appliance repair company. It's almost guaranteed that someone out there has had the same problem you've had and they've written about it online. In doing this you'll have a rough idea what the problem is, so if the guys on the other end of the phone don't sound like they've got a clue based on your accurate description of the problem, maybe take a pass on their services. Obviously it could be something else, but there's a good chance you can narrow down the range of possibilities. - Make sure to note the make and model number of your appliance when you call, as well as a thorough description of the problem. You'll want to make sure the repairman knows the key details so he can bring the right parts with him. read more

The owner was very friendly and helpful prior to original sale of my dishwasher but when I needed assistance after sale when the appliance broke down, not so much. When the owner realized I was there to seek advice and that I did not have cash in hand to purchase another appliance, he lost interest in me and left me standing. Wonderful service. Our refrigerator broke and I phoned at around 10am begging for same day service, as our fridge was at 9c and climbing. The tech promised he would come out. It would be later, but we would come. We needed a part. He phoned around a few places and said he would be back later, or Saturday morning. We phoned around 5:30pm to schedule his call back on Saturday, but he said he got the part and would come over in 5mins. By a little after 6pm, we had a working fridge and were so happy with Hoai. I had my washer break down and with the last one needing to be replace. I tried finding reviews on large appliance repair that would have a cheap estimate and the cost of the fix, which was difficult to find out. I had a friend refer this store to me. I called and they were quick to ask what's wrong with it give me idea if it was repairable. They scheduled someone to take a look at the washer. I was really hoping it won't cost over 200 since the last washer was over 300, hence buying a new one at that price. He maybe took 15 minute and the fix only costed 100, super thankful I didn't have to fork over a lot of money. read more
