Stopped in at Ellen's to feed our sweet tooth with a scoop of ice cream. What a lovely little restaurant with gracious employees. Ellen's does serve lunch, as they had a good-sized indoor dining area as well as a small patio area with covered picnic tables for their guests. A small ice cream parlor-style area is separated from the dining area where you can purchase cups or cones along with fudge or other sweet treats. I can't attest to the quality of the food, but there did appear to be regular customers here who were being tended to promptly. Since we only had ice cream, we sat for a bit in the ice cream parlor area and then moved briefly outside to finish up. Prices were reasonably and servers were very friendly. The food at Ellens was very good. The day we went, I was a bit disappointing because the two owners were deep in conversation with a bearded man discussing business and talking bad about people in the open. The bearded man knew someone across the restaurant and was talking loudly to them, rather than getting up & walking over to them to discuss business. It was quite rude & very distracting. However, his behavior was not the restaurants fault, other than the owners standing at the table and talking to him out in the open. I wish they all would have taken their business elsewhere. The quiche was wonderful. I had the seafood sandwich, my mom had the chicken salad and my daughter had a salad. Each meal was great. What was absolutely gross was the cockroach (photo below) that was dead on the floor underneath my daughters feet at the table. In fact, she saw it the moment we sat down. She wanted to leave immediately. However, since Ellen's was rated so well on Yelp, we stayed to try the food. I'm glad we did. I love any restaurant that has a dog friendly patio first and foremost! Everyone was extremely kind and explained the menu since we were first timers (eating the food. We've had their sweets before). I had the chicken and spinach quiche. I enjoyed every bite and my husband loved his crawfish etouffee as well. Wanted to order corned beef hash but they said they were out of hash browns. We felt a little rushed to order because they said breakfast ended at 11. Ok that's fine, so we wanted to order lunch instead then but was told that since it was 10:45 we would have to wait 15 minutes to order. Kind of a weird limbo to be put in? So without hash browns, a lot of the better options are eliminated from the breakfast menu. Got the avocado toast, the avocado was brown and it was a pretty small portion. Hot sauce was expired. For biscuits and gravy, a small avocado toast, a side of two pieces of bacon, and one iced tea it came to $41 with tip. Really pricey for what you get. Had lunch at Lynn's between Christmas and New Year's. Husband thought the Reuben was excellent. It certainly had a LOT of corned beef. The side salads were nice and fresh. Good blue cheese dressing. I ordered the Santa Fe burgers. The sum of the parts fell short. Burger Patty good, cooked medium rare as ordered. Smashed avocado, meh. Pico de Gallo was nice and punchy. No sign of the hatch chilis. My biggest gripe? The brioche bun was not nearly robust enough for a burger with that many components. After a very eventful morning I was in need of a break from the daily grind, so I decided to explore Old Town Spring and stop by here for lunch. The service was very friendly and prompt and there were many items to choose from on the menu. The place is very clean, and there are lots of tables. There is a separate counter where you can just order fudge if you don't want to sit down and have a meal. I ordered the CBS Sandwich with a side of potato salad. The potato salad was wonderful, both sweet and tangy. The bun for the sandwich was especially good-very soft, something between a hamburger bun and a croissant, and wonderfully toasted. The chicken breast in the sandwich was thick and juicy, and the bacon crunchy. It was topped off with Swiss cheese, lettuce, and fresh tomatoes. I only got through half of it before feeling full and can't wait to finish my leftovers later! This is a great stop when you're in need of some traditional American fare (and a deep breath). Whoever is cooking doesn't have their heart in it and is just sending out "meh, I can do it better at home" food. The service was amazing. My husband and I came here for the first time tonight. We were pleasantly surprised by the most wonderful staff. We had the Lobster Crab Cake sandwich with Lobster Bisque and the Rueben Sandwich with French Onion soup. Both were so yummy!!! I ordered the BLT, my husband ordered the cheeseburger, and my mom ordered Lynn's special, half sandwich with soup. The bacon on my BLT was cold and hard, and the lettuce and tomato's were not fresh. And it looked like someone pressed down on my sandwich as it looked handled with when it was served to me. My husband's burger came out cold and rubbery. How do you mess up a burger? It's the one thing you expect to order and to get it right. It tasted microwaved. We could of made a better burger and BLT at home, and I wish we did. My mom said her lunch was just okay. Dear Foodie Readers, only the freshest ingredients were served here...if you still have not been to Old town Spring, I do not know what you are waiting for, we were so excited to go back, and try another restaurant, and this one did not disappoint. The weather was perfect, so we sat outside on their lovely street side patio...we were actually wanting breakfast, but they are sticklers about the time, I think we came ten min after they no longer served, but that is ok....we enjoyed our lunch options so much. Our server was so friendly, and helpful, the boys got a milkshake, which was out of this world...I got the tuna melt, of course, and it was to die for...it is huge, so I took half home with me....but let me just tell you, I am still dreaming about it...my son got the chicken salad sandwich, and it was just as delicious...go try it...I always love that it feels we went on a mini vacation when we go. read more

Went for breakfast this morning, and we arrived prior to breakfast service being over. There were empty tables on the porch and in the dining room, yet the two employees behind the counter said they were too crowded and weren't serving breakfast any longer. My husband and I are from Colorado and wanted to try a small cafe...I'm so glad we came across this place on google! Amazing food, his biscuits and gravy with real sausage gravy that had bacon in it was mouth watering on top of HOME MADE biscuits with a crispy exterior and soft fuffly interior. Plain Jane me went with eggs, hash browns, sausage and toast but they were delicious! They were kind enough to make one scrambled egg for our 6 month old daughter, of course she loved them! Overall I was happy with my visit here. We sat on the patio which is in a great area in old town spring. We had had the turkey sandwich and cauliflower soup and the burger. I found that the value was better than a average :) the turkey was very good and fresh. The cauliflower soup was unique but delicious. I want super impressed for the price of the food. I did go for lunch and it was only basic menu. Seems like it's the old restaurant with just a new name. My bread was different than what was stated on the menu for my sandwich not a huge issue and everyone was pretty friendly. Dessert side has allot going for it we took some fudge home. Power kept going off while we were there. We noticed other Yelp reviews but food reviewed wasn't on our menu. Maybe night menu is different si heads up. My son loves the rocky road, but they were out this past time we visited. The girls working were very helpful. One offered rocky road fudge, but he isn't too keen on fudge. Next they offered to put marshmallows in the plain chocolate for him. The marshmallows are the reason why he likes rocky road. He opted for fudge brownie ice cream. Very rich & creamy. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but my lobster sub didn't seem traditional. The toasted bread was bang on but the filling had a minced consistency and was heavy on the Mayo. Flash back, Golden Girls! It's an oddity when you first walk in, or maybe it just seemed odd due to the slight confusion of us "customers" entering right when they opened @ 10 AM. They have a small gelato/ice cream shop to the left and the beginning of the dinning area to the right. There looked like a "team" meeting was occurring smack dab in the middle, though to be honest there were way to many people for it to be people running this cafe, so hey you know what they say about assuming things. You make an a.. oh never mind. After being seated, I being a coffee fiend quickly requested such. Love the size of their coffee mugs here, and great tasting coffee as well (SIdebar: They have Barefoot wine and Beer). I placed an order for the Southwest quiche with a side salad & Italian dressing $9.99. The food wad good though nothing of the wow factor. Very, quiet, quaint, structurally aged place to grab a bite to eat if your down in the Old Town Spring area. It accommodates a lot more than you realize on first glance. There is even outdoor seating, out back. On our exiting there was a large party of much older women, again another meeting I suppose and also I assume why all the random customers were being ushered and seated towards the back of the restaurant. read more

First off, this place was adorable! We went for our first time on Sunday after church. We were disappointed that breakfast stops being served pretty early because almost every cafe we've been to is still serving at 10:30am. We ordered lunch because that was the only option. I got a side of pasta salad with my sandwich and my fiancé got a side of potato salad. Both sides were not good. The sandwiches were pretty decent though. I was surprised to see the place so empty on a weekend when every other breakfast lunch spot has a wait around 11, but again pry because no breakfast to be served. Good food, good service, but I ordered a lobster roll. What I was brought was imitation crab meat roll. Not worth $20.99. Don't advertise a lobster roll if it's not lobster. My husband ordered a seafood salad sandwich. It's expected to be imitation crab meat. I should have maybe been charged 15$ compared to his 12$ just for the chunks of imitation crab. read more
