I brought my BHLDN wedding dress in for alterations after seeing great reviews on Yelp for Lynn Kay. I'm sure she's great for more simple alterations but this is NOT the place to go for wedding dresses! On my first appointment I left with buyers remorse and feeling self conscious about my dress after she kept telling me things like 'this is too tight' or 'this is too long'. She didn't seem to know how to properly bustle the dress either. We planned to start with bringing in the bust and hemming the bottom and she told me to return in 2 weeks for a 2nd fitting. I called 2.5 weeks later and was told my dress was ready. I went in and she gave me THE WRONG DRESS!! I told kay this wasn't my dress. She told me yes it is! I showed her a photo of my actual dress and was told she didn't have it. I asked to have it immediately, and was told to come back the next day. After some back and forth she agreed to get it for me within the next 2 hours. I came back, the dress was not nearly done (thank goodness!), I paid $100 for the shotty work that was done and went somewhere else. Best $100 I've spent on my dress. read more

This is the best place for alterations in the area! It's a hole in the wall and the sweetest asian lady works there with her cute puppy. I went there to get my dress altered for my engagement pictures and came back again to get my wedding dress altered. I brought my mom and sisters here to get their alterations too for their dresses. Everything looked perfect!! The prices are great and she does rush orders. I went to a few alteration places to get my wedding dress altered and they all said no, they didn't have enough time. She will make the time! She had my dress done in a few weeks. (I needed length off the bottom and she had to take in the waist) And she even gave me a discount for being a repeat customer. Me and my husband moved to Fort Worth, but we will be driving to Dallas to come back to her in the future. read more

I love this shop! She does solid work and her prices are agreeable. It's nice to see the way Lower Greenville is developing and all, but it's also nice to see that an older player is still able to operate among the sea of free range organic coffee, salad, bicycle, and meat shops. Mrs. Kay is simply amazing. She was like my fairy godmother before my wedding. I ordered my dress online and of course, it needed alterations. I had an infinity botice that was hand stitched (no seams) and she was able to magically alter it without it looking cut. My boob cups were also too small and she told me where I could find bigger ones. She then cut the old ones out and put bigger ones in. They looked fantastic! Highly recommend Mrs. Kay for any alterations, but ESPECIALLY for brides. She us affordable, charming, and goes above and beyond for her clients. read more

I went here at 11:52, they open at 10 AM so from another review I figured this would be plenty of time! The owner wasn't at the store :/ the thing is that there is a vintage store above and from what it looks like that owner arrives at 10 so the front door is open but Lynn isn't there. I would call in advance to go here, and from the looks of how it was set up I would do simple alterations. If I wasn't in a time crunch I'd come back! On to look for another. read more

Unsure what is going on with the business hours but they are not available nor is the store open during the hours they have listed. I brought pants to be altered as their hours show 9-5 on Saturday. As of 9:40 the business is still closed. I notice this was an issue in other reviews so they probably need to correct the store hours or be more diligent with the hours listed. read more

She did a great job on a dress alteration! Haven't tried anything more complicated but she was nice, professional and did a great job.

Love this place. They are good at what they do, and cheap too. I've paid $20 to get a hem shortened - here it was about $7.00. They are diligent about getting the alterations right to make you look good! As with any service you just have to be clear about what you want. But their work is well done and I highly recommend it. read more

I went to Lynn Kay to alter a bridesmaid dress which I purchased from David's Bridal with multiple layer and a train. It was very long, and also had to be taken in on the sides. The dress turned out perfectly hemmed and the price I paid was far less than I would have paid at David's bridal. Will definitely go back for any future alterations. read more

Was looking for a tailor in Dallas and selected her because of proximity to where we live, good scores on yelp, and Saturday hours. The hours posted online and on her shop say 10-6. We showed up at 10:10 and the shop was locked and closed. Her business card is on the door so I called thinking maybe I had to have a scheduled appointment. She answered and explained that she was running late and would be there in 30 minutes. Unfortunately she lost our business. If you decide to use her call ahead to make sure she'll actually be there. read more
