I've been going to Star Tailor for the past couple years and have had countless items fixed by Mi. Suits, blazers, shirts, tshirts, jeans, you name it. She's always done a fantastic job. It's gotten to the point where I don't even try things on upon pickup. I try them on the moment before I'm going out to the event I originally bought the item for. Mi also gets done with stuff expeditiously. There have been numerous times all my items have gotten done before the promise date. Finding good tailors for men's suiting can be hard. With Mi, you don't have to look for another tailor. Especially since you know she's been doing the same thing in the same place for 26 going on 27 years. Susie is incredible! I took my mom's wedding dress in to get altered. We chopped the puff sleeve, expanded the back so I could fit in it, utilized the long sleeve as an arm sleeve. She even transformed my mom's veil! I can't post any pictures as I'm not married yet! It looks like a total different dress. Absolutely perfect and so special! I even took a picture with Susie while I was wearing the dress!! We will be utilizing Susie and Star Tailor from now on. Highly recommend. read more

Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but when the Owner's 4 barking little lap dogs "living" on the counter are treated better than a new customer coming in with 7 pairs of pants to be hemmed...that's where I draw the line! I have been taking clothes to Suzie for more than 10 years. Why? Because every other local tailor I've been to has literally ruined whatever I brought them. One time Suzie advised me to return a suit to the store I bought it from because it was impossible for any tailor to make it fit me. That was extremely honest of her. I read some of the other reviews and am in disbelief. Suzie's dogs are downright cute. They are a net positive. I think it's a stroke of genius for her to bring her dogs to work. I've been taking my alterations to Star Tailor for several years. They do excellent work. They have gotten very pricey since the last time I brought in items for alterations. It seems what used to cost me $15 is now costing me $25. I do not bring as many items for alterations as I would like if their prices were lower. I do recommend them. Just be prepared for higher price points. read more

I wish there was an option for no star(s)... I can deal with the dogs, not what I would consider normal but no biggie, the problem for me is that I walked in on a private yoga session, the rude looks and the fact that I was bothering a yoga session during business was obviously unacceptable to the owner "tailor" this being a Tuesday it only got worse when I said that Saturday was when i needed the items back, I was punished for this request by being told with multiple looks of disgust and sighs that Saturday at 4 would be the pickup time, I paid my money in advance and moved on..... so saturday at 4 I pick up my jeans , not stitched with matching thread as was requested, also cut shorter than requested and once again rude and bothered by the fact that I was even there, I'm now buying replacement jeans and will be looking for another tailor, hopefully this review saves someone else the hassle and torture of this rude and obnoxious shop. read more

If I had the options to choose no stars.. I would!! They stole from me! I took a pair of leggings because I had a hole at a seam at the knee, the lady inspected them and told me the whole seam was about to bust so she would close everything for 10 dollars, I paid and my husband went to pick up the leggings a week later. They "fixed" the seams, but not the hole!! The lady told my husband that if he wanted the hole fixed, he would need to pay more!! That is just crazy!! They started to shout at him and tell him they did what I asked: why would I want them to fix a seam and not a huge hole?!! Worst customer service ever!! Stay away from these people. read more

Not a professional tailor. Had to simply let out some dress slacks of a suit. She tore a hole in back by her inept stitching so she used more thread and stitching to cover the entire hole. Completely ruined the slacks. When I went to pick it up, she quickly rang me up before I had a chance to inspect. Then she refused to reimburse me for the slacks or refund the money she just charged me for her terrible work. Too many better tailors around to waste time and money with Star Tailor. She seemed friendly and helpful until she makes a mistake. Very unethical person. read more

The tailor wasn't very friendly and she left puckers on the sides of my jeans. When I pointed it out, she said it was because the jeans had some stretch material in them and nothing could be done. Seriously?! And she still charged me $25 (which I should've refused to pay). read more

Not impressed at all. When trying on the dress I indicated that I thought the straps needed to be tightened. She argued with me they didn't and dismissed me(the customer). Then she did only a few stitches in the chest area and it took her 6 days to get it back to me. Upon picking it up, she was in a rush to get me to take it and didn't ask me to try it on to see if it fit me properly. It was for a wedding so it was important it fit me correctly.
