I had 4 pajama bottoms that needed tighter waist elastic. 3 fit and 1 did not but she insisted it did. I asked her to pull out the ribbon to make it as long as possible and then stitch it in place. 2 were done this way. The 2 left were horrible on purpose because she wouldn't let me look or hold them until I paid. The ribbons were very short and the length of the ribbons were 4 inches shorter than the other ribbon and the same treatment for the last pants. She charged me over what she quoted me and then blamed my memory for what she quoted me. All she talked about was her health problems when the discussion was about quoting a price. I have more pajama pants that need tighter elastic but no way I would go to Lana. She has shoddy and unstable work and charges too much money. I have to take my 3 out of 4 pajama pants that Lana worked on to another tailor and plus pay the new tailor to alter my new pajama pants. I'm expecting a large bill because they will have to fix Lana's terrible work. I think it's time for Lana to retire after how she personally treated me, how she charged me, the inconsistency of her work, and her 25% accuracy of what was requested. read more

The absolute worst. I too my daughter's $70 boutique dress in to ask if she knew how to convert it to a bubble. She claimed she did and took one fast measurement of my daughter's leg then said she would have it ready in a week. When I picked it up I knew it was not right but my daughter wasn't with me to try it on so I paid and left. The stitching was the sloppiest I have ever seen. One leg hole was bigger than the other. I got home and it wouldn't even fit my daughter any more. It looked like it was for a newborn. I called to tell her she had made it way too small and she got really defensive and said "I didn't do nothing ma'am!" So now I basically just threw away $100. She was not apologetic or anything. She didn't even care to try to fix it. I have been in tears over this as this was going to be worn to a very special event. Now I'm out $100 and she still has nothing to wear. read more

This has possibly been the worst experience I've had with a business. I brought my wedding dress in during January to add simple sleeves and take off an inch of fabric in the top. I'm given an estimate on when it should be ready and I wait. Well a month past the expected date goes by and I call her, she says it'll be ready Friday. The next two weeks by and I call again, once again she says it'll be ready Friday. This happens repeatedly for over a month. My mom calls her and gets a story that she just got out of the hospital that day. Then I call her weeks later and it's the same story. I ask if she's even able to do it and I'm told once again, it'll be ready Friday. Finally I go in to see where my dress is and she hasn't even started it. She argues with my mom and I and has the audacity to say we've never been sick so we can't understand. The problem isn't that she can't do it, it's the constant LIES. When confirming what she needs done on the dress she reveals that she forgot. Finally we tell her we are picking up the dress that Friday one way or another. I pick it up on Friday and I immediately notice that the sleeves are the wrong color even though I brought her extra fabric that I ordered from the dress maker. So she didn't use my fabric and instead used a cheap scratchy one. My dress is a pinky ivory and the sleeves are a stark white. When I get home to try it one the sleeves barely get past my wrists. The fabric is unfinished, had holes and minor tears in it, and it's super uneven. The back of the top where I asked her to cut off an inch has unfinished seems. The wedding is two weeks away and there's no other tailor who can take me in time. The rudeness and lack of accountability AS WELL AS the apparent lack of care is why I say BRIDES BEWARE. read more

Has a dress that needed to be cut (it was too long) and straps fixed for a bridesmaid dress, she charged me $110! I said excuse me? She said it was a lot of fabric.... I never expected to pay as much as the dress cost. I asked around what the other bridesmaids had paid for their alterations everyone paid around 30 bucks. Lana helped me out yesterday when I was in a time crunch. Lana is wonderful. I can't say enough good things about her and her talent as a seamstress. She has been in business for 25 years!!If you want a reliable person to have tailoring work done for you this is the shop. She is top notch and I have had the pleasure of going to her for 10 years! (( Accepts cash or checks NO credit cards)) Our younger generation needs to learn how to sew and take on business when our current people get up there in age. Lana has lots of family that comes sees her from time to time while she is working. She works long hours everyday. Let's not forget her mother who is in her 80's and she sits in her chair and helps her daughter out. I live in Carrollton and some people I know think that Lewisville is a far off city. There is no one that can match Lana and her talent for sewing. Last year she altered a top for me and it is one of my favorites to wear. I had a collection of buttons from many years. I took them to her along with hangers that have the cardboard across bottom of hanger. I have a basic sewing basket here as I do basic mends like a button. I don't need 100 safety pins and a entire slew of thread. Anything I get extra of I take to Lana. I also take bouquets of flowers that grow in my yard. read more

Lana is the best - I told her I need the items by the weekend and she managed to complete a day early. I don't as very impressed since I have her a four day notice. She did and absolutely amazing job - I took her a dress I accidentally ordered to big, I didn't have time to exchange. I was stunned how great it looked and even more because it was all lace- I had her take it in and shorten it. She also did two suits for my husband looked great. Super nice lady but I would not recommend her. Took in two pairs of jeans to take up in the waist. The repairs were poorly done and have ruined the jeans. I've never seen jeans taken up in this manner and the reason is obvious - it left two bulging seams in the back!!! I took a dress in to be hemmed as it was too long. They did an great job and turn around was good, about a week. However, I didn't get a quote and it turned out to be $60 which was the price of the dress. Most other dresses I've had hemmed have been around $40 so definitely more expensive compared to other places. read more

I'm a very positive person. I know everyone has good and bad days, but I had a horrible experience coming here. This isn't my first time coming here. I walked in with some pants and a dress to alter. As I walked in I asked Lana if she had time to shorten my dress and pants, it was Tuesday, I needed it by Friday. She immediately looked at me and told me "don't waste my time, go try on the dress!" That was unnecessary! She ended up charging me $70 PLUS TAX to shorten a dress just from the front and shoulder straps, which I had paid $50 for initially. When I told her that, she said "I'm not China!" Different day, same bad attitude! When I tried the dress was done, she left a train on the dress, which I told her to take off and the shoulders were not fixed at all! My total bill was $82, when I told her I had $80/cash she told me to write her a check for the additional $2. She's rude, inappropriate and definitely can't alter correctly. Would not recommend her to anyone and not sure how she's still in business. read more

I recently took a dress in to get the zipper replaced. It took a few weeks to complete but it was done by the date written on my ticket. It costs about $25 bucks. Lana is a sweet lady from Jordan and I would definitely recommend her as a tailor. I was very disappointed to not be able to pay with a debit or credit card when I picked up my daughter's dress for formal. Luckily I actually had one check on me, pretty much never happens! The cost was $65 to hem the length which was tulle with sequins but still seemed very high. This was on 4/28 and she just now deposited to her bank, a whole month later!
