On 3/21, my sister and I went here to get two dresses altered. At first, everything seemed fine, but it quickly turned into a frustrating and unprofessional experience. While marking the dresses, the staff told us the price would be "$130," which we believed was for both. When we got to the register, we were suddenly told the total was "$303." This was shocking and completely unreasonable, especially since the dresses only cost $29 each. On top of that, they tried to add another $20 for minor strap adjustments. There was no clear price list, and when I asked for one, I was refused. When we questioned the pricing, the staff became defensive and blamed us for the "misunderstanding." My sister paid $20 just to avoid further conflict. After I left and came back asking again for a price list, the situation escalated--another staff member came out yelling, and I was told to leave. They eventually refunded the $20. Overall, this place is extremely overpriced, lacks transparency, and the customer service is very unprofessional and rude. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

The owner here is incredibly nice and does fantastic work on whatever is given. She altered my senior overalls and my prom dress. They all fit great after work was done and the pay was fairly priced. Expensive. Like 3x what I am used to paying for tailor. I've lived all over. From California to NYC to rural Texas. And this is the most expensive. But. That's not the worst part. They did not tailor my article of clothing, but handed it off to me at pick up time and said that all was ready. Like they didn't do a darn thing. The owner is a friendly woman who happily helped pin my pants that needed a hem. She allowed me to pick the day I needed them finished by and let me pay either at the time of drop off or at pick up. I returned two days later and my pants weren't ready...she quickly hemmed them within 10 minutes and apologized. I hope that's not consistently the case and I will give her some grace--I will be back because I was overall happy with her service and I love supporting small businesses. read more

I do not see a place to update my review so I will add that they ruined 2 of the 4 pants I brought to get hemmed and the waist fixed which are basic alterations (waist not done correctly and hem on pants above my ankle). If they don't have the machines to do stretch fabrics, just say it. They even wanted to take out the sewing on the waist and have me return them to the store (after 30 days, there is no return). So it wasted $250 of my money plus 1.5 hours of my time. Plus all the rude behavior of not apologizing and blaming me. Shame on them. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews and historically I've had a decent track record at this tailor. However, they recently tailored a blazer for me and used non-washable ink on a light grey blazer. The jacket is ruined with marks along the sleeve and their only recommendation was to take it to the dry cleaner. I have now had it dry cleaned twice to attempt to fix their mishap and they have not been willing to offer a solution. The blazer was not cheap, so this is a very expensive mistake. Unfortunately, we will not be going back to them given their inability to make it right. read more

Took a new suit to this shop for alterations. I am very happy with the altrations. The cost is on par with all other tailors in the area. The turn around time was very reasonable. I imagine I will utilize this tailor to do another suit fitting at some point. If you buy a nice suit - you want to place it in competent hands for your alterations. This is the BEST tailor shop in the area! I bring all of my clothes to Custom Tailor and I do have weird requests-- cutting t-shirts into crop tops, altering dresses in weird places, shortening sports bra straps and they have always gone above and beyond every single time. I love the care that goes into tailoring my clothes and turn around is super quick. I have yet to receive an item back that doesn't fit my request. Update: Went to pick up my pants today (Monday) and they had ALL my clothes done. I'm shocked- I had dropped off about 5 pieces of clothing and asked that they be done sometime this week except the pants (those were an emergency). I definitely did not expect them to turn my clothing around in 48 hours. I hope the poor lady who runs this shop got to enjoy her weekend at least a little bit. Overall, 5 Stars for speed, quality of work and kindness. I thought about only giving 4 stars because of the pants thing, but it's not that hard for me to just call and check that they'll be open before I drop clothes off in the future. read more

I have been going to Custom Tailor a little over a year now and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Ms. Park, the owner and the seamstress. My friend had been getting alterations by Ms. Park over 20 years now and recently moving to the area, a little over a year now, Custom Tailor is the only tailor I would ever go to get anything altered. Ms. Park is a professional seamstress and she is passionate about what she does, her work of art is undeniable as she has been doing this all her life. From something simple as hemming my dress slacks to altering my evening gown with intricate beads and laces, it's really incredible what she can do. It's night and day how something looks and feels when the article of clothing fits just right. I have brought a ton of blazers, jackets, pants, very complicated dresses, and she has never failed to impress me. From weight loss to weight gain, I was able to save and wear my designer goods thanks to Ms. Park. I also brought some fabric to get draperies custom made and really just about anything, she is able to make your vision come true. I am working on finding another look for the draperies in my living room. As soon as I find the fabric, I know I will be bringing it to Custom Tailor! I have already recommended my friends in Highland Village/Flower Mound and they all love her. Even my friends from Dallas and all around the metroplex are making the drive to see her. BAD TAILOR!!! Please DO NOT GO to this place. I left a brand new garment to be altered. When I went back to pick it up, there were white stains on the inside & on the outside that were not there before. I asked for a discount for dry cleaning. NO! I will NOT return. Now I've paid full price for alterations and still have to dry clean my garment before I can wear it. They'll also very expensive!!!!!! read more

I went to custom tailor because of the good reviews here on yelp. Sadly, I was disappointed to say the least. To start, when I arrived the owner was in an argument with another customer. The customer was unhappy with the pant length that he received and instead of changing it for the customer the owner continued to argue with the customer. I should've known there to just walk out. He fitted me for my dress. And then told me to pick it up the following week. I had to ask him how much it was going to cost. his answer was he did not know that this was his wife's job. This was strange to me but he told me I could call back and get a quote for my dress. I called back several times but only would receive either a busy line or his wife was still not in the store. When I finally reached her she said the alterations would cost me $70. I said OK. When I went to pick up my dress I tried it on and everything looked good until I got to the register she told me I owed $139!! I told her that she quoted me 70 and she said that that was just for the hem and I repeated that she had talked to me on the phone and quoted me differently. She remembered doing this but said she had made a mistake. She then gave me five dollars off. Five dollars off was definitely not enough compared to the extra $70 she charged me!! I left feeling tricked. I will definitely not be returning. read more

I will never use this tailor again. I took in material to have a shawl made for my daughters bridesmaid dress. We bought more fabric than needed so I modeled and she pinned where to cut off and hem for the proper length. She quoted me $25.00. When my daughter went to pick it up she charged her $35.00 plus she did not shorten it correctly as she was supposed to cut off more than a full yard of fabric. She argued with me and even took me to her window display where she showed me about a 1/4 yard of MY FABRIC that she had used for decoration. The whole time I was arguing with her she was mumbling a foreign language under her breath. Now I have to have another tailor fix the shawl, am out the money she charged me for doing the job incorrectly plus she has my fabric in her window. Very poor customer service and business ethics. read more

I looked all over Denton for a tailor who was skilled and experienced enough to replace the lining on my husband's Harris tweed jacket. I ended up going all the way to Lewisville, where I found Lana. She did great work at a fair price, even making sure to use fabric that was sturdy enough to last another 30 years. Thank you, Lana! Better than new! read more
