I wish I had the same experience as the other yelpers. I am only in DFW part time, but had a recommendation for this place, so decided to use them. I took a suit which needed significant alterations to the pants, and 2 dresses and a pair of pants that needed only hemming. The lady is very nice, seems to like her clients and seems to know the right look needed for altering the clothes. That is unfortunately, where my good experience ends. After trying on and pinning all the clothes, she says it'll be 3 plus weeks for them to be ready. Well, ok, could I possibly get only the suit in 2 weeks for a conference, my last trip to Dallas before then? Agreed. She accepts only cash or check, which was a bit of a surprise to me, so she agreed to allow me to pay at pick up - but then cash only. She also made a curious statement about 'if I needed to bring the clothes back for anything I had to let her know in one week after pickup'. That should have been a red flag to me that she gets a lot of returns, because in all my dealings with a lot of tailors, I've never been told that. She also did not give me a itemized receipt for my items, which of course, should have also been a red flag. So 2 weeks later, I had my husband pick up the suit and bring it home. The pants are a complete disaster. The crotch was not taken in enough, the legs are completely different lengths FROM EACH OTHER - obvious at the first glance in the mirror, probably 3/4 inch difference between the two - and the hem in each leg is completely uneven. I could have done a more even hem using an iron and that iron-on hemming tape. I would have been embarrassed for anyone who claims to have done that work. I called her she said sure, bring them in to fix, that sometimes what looks uneven is right. When I stand if front of the mirror and go WOW, the legs are completely different lengths - there is no debating that is wrong. "The customer is always right" was definitely not the assumption here. A week after that, hubby returns for the rest of the clothes, and comes back with the 2 dresses. I said I told him 3 items, he says she said she only had two. I called her on a weekday during business hours to tell her of the missing pants - she asks, can I call back another time, when she has time to look for the item? Like I'm inconveniencing her, versus apologizing for us having to make another trip because she doesn't track her items. So, 4 trips to the tailor in over a month and $214 for 3 hems that any dry cleaner could have had done (if I could have done the measurements, granted), and a suit that is a complete disaster. I'm actually going to pay money to have someone else fix the pants rather than make a fifth trip to someone who doesn't take better care of their customers and their items. Maybe she has saved the day for some people, but unfortunately I got a bad result and poor service. read more

We found Shahin the old fashioned way: we saw a sign for a tailor on the parking lot marquee. Since then we've fallen in love with her and her store. All alterations are always top-notch, her prices are reasonable (just ask ahead of time if you're worried), and she normally has a quick turnaround. She is cash or check only, which I suppose could turn some people off, but it's not really that big of a deal. Bring in your clothes and sit for a few minutes and get to know Shahin. She's a wonderful lady with great stories to tell, and her dog, Buddy, is the cutest (though he's not there very much these days). She is overly priced and doesn't accept credit cards. I went to get my wedding dress tailored and she wanted to charge me $350 for a three point American bustle and $250 to get my dress taken up and hemmed. It made my heart drop! I am already financially straped but I do want to get the best for my wedding day, so I asked her if credit card was okay and she said she doesn't accept credit cards. That is when I realized that she was over priced and didn't really show that she wanted to work on my dress. I then went to David's Bridal because that is where I purchased the dress, they charge $50 for a three point bustle and $150 to hem my dress. I ended up doing a lot more work on my dress like add more room to the bust area and going with a 12 point under-bustle and the price was only $350 at David's Bridal and the lady was very sweet and helpful! The tailor was telling me that the majority of people that go to these small tailors get ripped off the same with wedding dresses. Plus, they DO accept credit cards at DB. I saved half of what she would have charged me and a lot more guaranteed satisfaction work. Dress is ready in a month and I have a lot of intricate work and layers on my dress. I am glad I went with my gut and I didn't pay this lady to work on my dress. If you come here, you WILL be ripped off. read more

I took her a pair of new jeans that gaps in the back of the waist to bring that in so that it could fit me properly. I am a slender waist and full hipped woman so this is always a daunting task. It was the first time I had ever been there so I took a gamble based on her reviews. Let me say WOW she made these jeans fit me like a glove. I love to wear them and the best part is that it looks like they were never altered and that I do not have to wear a belt with them if I do not want to. ATTENTION: So, my dress was a disaster. First time, I brought my dress in by myself. I explained what I wanted (which was my v-neck neckline tacked over some. We discussed the price, I paid, and we set the other dates for me to come back for my second fitting (over a week later) and final fitting (a week after second fitting). At this time, we discuss me bring my shoes to the second fitting for getting a hem measurement if I choose to have her do it (because she charged me $180 to cut the layers of tulle with a pair of scissor and hem one layer of taffeta under the tulle..). She tells me I have to go buy an invisible zipper for the back zipper and bring it to her, so she can lower the back v deeper. So, I did, and brought it to her within the hour. ... Over a week passes and I show up for my second fitting. When I walk in, she is trying to tack my neckline together hastily. She hadn't even finished lowering the back of my dress, it remained open and hanging apart, and it was apparent that she hadn't even started my dress. Hind sight, I should have grabbed my dress right then and ran. But i didn't. I was afraid since it was in pieces that I wouldn't be able to get it fixed anywhere else... I thought she knew what she was doing because of the decent reviews she received. My mother and grandmother drove out from Dallas to come see the second fitting. We were all like, "w.t.h. It isn't anywhere near even started." so, she shows me the one side of the neckline she threw together, and it isn't even near what we discussed. So, my family starts showing her what we want. I am pinned, poked and pissed off by the time I leave there. Third fitting, we all come back. The neckline doesn't even match what we discussed. She did it like the ones that were thrown together previously. She kept saying, "there's too many layers.." Excuses were all I heard. The top of my shoulders were supposed to be taken in (I was pinned for it), but they were so off that I could see the seam on one about an inch below my shoulder and the other side, the seam was going over my shoulder. I asked her what happened, and she says "they are the exact same size on each side"... why the heck would you pin me if I was perfectly symmetrical? Hmm? Especially when you turned my ballgown v-neck into a Grecian, sloppy neckline and has lowered the back below my bra line even though that wasn't what was initially pinned to do? I tell her I hate my dress. My mom is asking if it can be undone, and Shahin says no. I don't care anymore at this point. I put my shoes on, and I am thinking we are going to hem, but she doesn't even have a clue about that. She then says for me to come in very early one morning a few days later and she will hem the dress. We leave, and my mom says we'll go buy a cardigan to cover up the mess... just get it hemmed and pressed and we'll get through this... Fourth visit : just me and I am there early in all my under-garb, etc to get it hemmed. She pins the bottom, and she cuts the tulle. It is supposed to be an inch above floor length. This is a true tulle ballgown... I don't want to fall on my face. So, she cuts and pins, and I leave. I am set to come back in about a week, which is 2 days before my wedding. Fifth visit: I was set to get my dress on Thursday at 5:30. My daughter's soccer game was rescheduled to this time, so I called and rescheduled for the next morning. I show up and she is with someone so I grab my dress and leave. The day of the wedding, the weather became warm and windy, so I couldn't hide the issues with a cardigan. And the dress was still so long, it was dragging the floor in the back. My pictures even looked frightening... gaps in the back of the arms, wrong puffs in the chest, the seams uneven at shoulders.. It was a wreck... and she didn't care. I even told her "I hate my dress". She tried to tell me it was my emotions or pms or something... But, no. I still hate my dress. Point is: $465.48 later (her costs only, not any of that is what I paid for the dress) and it was ruined. She might be okay with hemming something, but seriously- do not use this place. Wow, wonderful SAME DAY alteration service located in the Mid Cities. I needed to have a military coat adjusted quickly so I dropped it off when the store opened, she took some quick measurements and I left. She had it ready by 3pm. I am very picky when it comes to alterations and it was done very well. The pricing was very fair and I gave her a little tip to show my appreciation for great work in a very short amount of time. I had a very good experience at Ensy Tailor.I brought in a bridesmaid dress that needed alterations about two weeks ago, which I picked up today. She hemmed the bottom of the dress, 3 layers, took in the sides of the dress around the bust and adjusted the straps. For all of this she charged me $125, which I thought was pretty good. She worked with my schedule to come back in a get the dress, and offered to stay later since I told her that I would be commuting after work from Dallas. Very nice, courteous and professional. The quality of the stitching was very good on my dress. Very pleasant experience all around. The only down side is that she only takes cash or credit card. Had a horrible experience. Have used many tailors over the years but this experience was outlandish. They quoted an estimation at drop off of $20 to do a simple hem on a dress. I come up to pick up she states $32 for a hem. I was upset. I asked her to explain her work & she would not. I asked her how long did it take for you to hem this she made a mockery of my question & said "2 minutes". She even moved my dress to back so that I could not get it. I had to call the POLICE to get my dress!! I really believe she wanted to keep it & sell it for profits. A basic of honesty is missing!!
