We moseyed on in here on Christmas Day after walking off our lunch at Cha Cha Coconuts to find Tee dressed up as Cindy Lou Who! This was quite the welcoming and she was very kind to us. Of course I wanted a toy gator and a duck and she recommended some really good drinks to go with them. You can see these in my picture. Tee took the time to get to know us, was very personable and kind. On a normal day they do have food but on Christmas Day they did not serve any. They have bar seating indoor seating and outdoor seating. There's many cool things to look at throughout this bar. I highly recommend that you check this place out because it's very unique and you'll have fun.

Fish and Chips
Linda H.

My friend wanted to find a place with fish and chips in sarasota, on the Armand Circle. His wife doesn't like seafood. So we had to find something to fill the bill, and we came here. This is place is not something I would choose, it truly is a hole in the wall Irish Pub and very limited pub menu. I was along for the ride, and I do like fish and chips. Clearly, most of the patrons were there to drink, not eat, and were over their limit when we arrived at 5pm. We ordered 2 fish and chip dinners and 1 salad with a special request of blackened chicken placed on top. Not on the menu, no problem. Our waitress, Jordin, who is also the bartender, was amazing. She serviced the bar and tables with a smile and with unbelievable service! There was only one other person working there, and that's the guy at the grill. It's a two person show and it's amazing how they can pull it off. I was impressed and told my waitress/bartender she was amazing with her excellent service and positive attitude! Thanks Jordin!! It's unfortunate the food didn't measure up to the service, yet the fish and chips was far better than what I expected from the look of the place. The fish and chips were good, nothing spectacular, the french fries were okay and actually the coleslaw was good, very good. The fish and chips had more of a dry breading upon it, almost resembling something that you would bake in the oven. The portions were large, the price is overpriced, given the location probably; fish and chips $23.00. Refillable soft drinks $3.95. Pricing as of 3/10/2025. The surprising star plate was the blackened chicken atop of the salad. They should add it to the menu. My friends wife said it was delicious. I don't intend to ever come back, my friend who also ordered the fish and chips said the same thing. It's just ok, and I can get better fish and chips for a lot less money elsewhere.

The server was very polite and attentive. It's a cute pub that is inviting and during lunch was quiet . We got the sampler platter to share and it was okay. Nothing too exciting about it- but everything tasted good. I feel like it's hard to not make Chicken strips, jalapeño poppers, fries & mozzarella sticks exceptional so that is what for the 3 . I would love to come back and try some other dishes. It is definitely a good place for a quick bite & a cold beer

Seats are comfy. George was our waiter, if that was his real name. He didn't seem thrilled to have us BUT he was the only server on. The food wasn't the best but it was hot and filled a void. We ordered the fish and chips and split it. Definitely worth a short drop in if you like pubs but wouldn't spend a ton of time here.

I had heard many'o'story about 'The Sisters' before ever meeting them and visiting their pub. Back in the day, before I was born, Lynches was on LBK, rather than Ledo (the circle). LBK were brats and moaned about everything... One time they complained about the sign being over the property line. The sisters eventually got up there and cut part of the sign off with a saw... It hangs on the wall in the current business. Finally in 2003, the sisters went to the circle and business is great. They do a great job taking servers in, teaching them, and then ushering them, now skilled, into the world. We visited for a little happy hour with my fiancé, the inlaws, and friends. We shared a smoked salmon nibble and enjoyed a few rounds of drinks. The pub was pleasant and staff were prompt, polite, and gracious. The sisters even sent dad a get well card when he was very sick battling cancer.

The place was decorated for the holiday and had a great vibe. Irish music was playing, of course. There's a large variety of beers on tap. A screen shows the current offerings. I had a Vagabond IPA, while my husband had a Kilkenny. Both were 20 oz pours, and very good. We decided to get a couple of appetizers because we had a dinner commitment. We had the English sausage rolls, wrapped in puff pastry, and the spicy English beer cheese dip, which came with pita chips. Everything was plentiful and quite tasty. There are lots of other great looking things on the menu. We enjoyed the congenial atmosphere, and the service by owner Rich. We never felt rushed. If we lived in the area, we would become regulars.

The main concern is the customers. I was one of three women (including the bartender) out of eleven people. The men were all older and every single one of them was bitching about women. They were calling the bartender from across the dining room, running her back and forth for every one of their demands. It was so frustrating and distracting. I was uncomfortable for myself and genuinely felt bad leaving the female bartender alone. Absolutely do not recommend for solo female diners.

My son-in-law and I visited them on Easter Sunday and they were open, Premier Football (soccer) matches draw patrons. There are an ample amount of tables but most of the crowd sits at the bar positioning themselves for proper screen viewing. We sat at a table with countertop chairs. You can smell that smoking has been allowed, although none of the customers were imbibing at the time. I also did not see ashtrays at the bar. Our goal was simple, order an authentic English Breakfast. Champions appear to be a basic mom-and-pop restaurant. Pop takes the orders and tends bar, mom is in the kitchen preparing orders. I ordered a small breakfast which I will share in an attached photo. The order was huge. The full breakfast has an additional egg and double meat. English breakfasts include eggs, fried bread or toast, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, bangers, and ham. I suggest ordering a small breakfast unless you are beyond hungry. I have been fortunate to enjoy a proper English Breakfast in the UK and what Champions prepares is the real deal. One of the others ordered curry chicken and I'm disappointed that I didn't try it, but it is on my list for the next time I visit. Bottom line, I highly recommend Champions Pub if you enjoy British food, or enjoy European Football. I will rate this a five-star meal, but overall I will give it a four only because of the smoking atmosphere.

But it wasn't until this last visit that we even realized this place existed - and we are SO glad we did! :) Tucked in the middle of a small and unassuming shopping center, the outside is very dark which definitely helps with the authentic Irish Pub feel. Once you open the door, it's smaller place, with around 10-15 small tables, a bar straight ahead, and a small area for local performers on the left up against the outside window (because of the dark ambiance, its hard to even tell the back is glass. The staff was helpful and attentive. We were going for a walk, but I wanted to see the menu, so I popped in to grab one with one of my daughters in the baby carrier. There were 2 performers and a few tables of people and everyone smiled and made comments about her, and I grabbed a menu and left. During the walk, I called to order our food, and the bartender on the phone was very helpful. He happily accommodated getting all of the sauces on the side and even offered some things to be separated that I didn't think about (since I mentioned we would be walking home with the food). When I went back to pick up the food, the place was far busier, almost every seat was taken, and I had switched out kids in the baby carrier. People were just as friendly even though it was noticeably crowded. It had only been 15 minutes, but the food was ready and packed - and boy was it GOOD!! We got the Irish Nachos and Pub Poutine so we could try a few Irish specialties that also had classic elements to them (shepherds pie and beer cheese). The Irish Nachos were absolutely incredible! It is house-made potato chips topped with shepherds pie and beer cheese. Some of the best food we've ever had in Siesta Key and by far the best shepherd's pie I've ever had - and I've been to Ireland. The Pub Poutine was also really tasty! It is house-made French fries topped with corned beef and beer cheese. Again, everything was fresh, made in-house, and a big hit with our whole family! I'm so glad we finally stumbled on this place and can't wait to come back again next year!

Friday, January 16, 2026 - Two for a burger bite. Not before the FST show…read more (GOSUB to the **** for the meat/burger of the review ((smile)) ) I have reviewed about 30 restaurants in and around Sarasota since 2021 when we moved down permanently and are members of the FST. On this Friday night, nothing was going right. My wife was delayed at school etc. So then a delayed departure from Venice, a false stop at Mad Moe's for a burger in Osprey (PACKED) and then a direct shot and parking across from FST we hope for a quick burger or something at the bar or restaurant at FST? But it was PACKED and they weren't serving any more???? We threw our tickets in the trash because now we could not make it back in time, (( frown :-( )) So a walk to Main Street to see if Patrick's or anybody might have room for two? NOPE. and we were walking along and THERE WAS BREWSTER's GASTROPUB!!!!!!!!!! For some reason I have 128 restaurants on my Sarasota Favorites list and Brewster's was not on it? I checked them on as I entered??? Looked VERY full at the bar, and most tables were full but it looked like we had a shot...... and there was a four top high-top!!!!!!! WIDE OPEN!! I think the no table service might be the delineator. We weren't looking for a sit down "dining" and full service gig. Nor did we need the overhead and pomp and circumstance of a host/hostess, army of bus staff, a waitstaff and being waited on with drinks and water and etc? ******** We came to EAT GOOD SIMPLE FOOD and have FUN. **** And that's what we did!!! "Todd" at the bar was friendly and fantastic. All the bartenders and staff were helpful and friendly. The "security guy" when he saw me at the bar for about 20 seconds helped me get some ketchup. Zone defense and team effort!!!! I got the signature Brew Burger and a side of Street Corn and had an endless glass of water w/ lemon I think I had Todd fill about 5 times. My wife and I bantered about what the Street Corn would be and we were happily surprised with the authentic Mexican Street Corn (elotes?) on the cob with a stick and a delightful creamy Chile, garlic, and Cotija cheese sauce I think. (problem is we gobble them up before we could figure out the exact sauce composition here. BUT it was very tasty. 10/10 The burger (for this adult usually nutritarian plant-based eater) was EXACTLY what I had hoped for. A wonderfully fresh an warm brioche bun, fantastic angus burger, cheddar and a "secret sauce" . I got lettuce onion and pickles which are standard...... this was VERY VERY VERY tasty. only quip is I will opt for sauce on the side and its was a little too much sauce. This was mega and uber better than some greasy Five Guys or Smashburger or any of that stuff. 10/10 My wife got the Shroom & Swiss Burger that had a wonderful portobello mushroom on it nicely cooked, terrific angus burger properly cooked exactly as we ordered it, she loved the blue cheese perfect amount, She also felt a bit TOO much of the secret sauce, but its pretty tasty so not a catastrophe. This was also an AWESOME burger!! 10/10 The sweet potato fries were not crazy greasy and perfectly crisp but not crunchy for fries - good, cross-cut and obviously bulk bag. Cut or sliced would be nicer but of course not expected, its a side. 7/10 The place is clean and glassware and silverware perfectly clean. The counter/bar service is fantastic. I had to make a few trips for ketchup and place ware and etc but hey when your wife gets one of the better vodka cranberry w/lemon and club in a large tumble for $9 instead of $15 or $16 for a 6 oz martini glass with 4 oz of watery drink........ its a home run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With all the TVs and sports that is probably the summary of my review. Brewster's Gastropub is a Grand Slam for food and service......and especially burgers!!! Bravo Zulu.
