You experience is highly dependent on the technician. I had one woman who I had a wonderful experience with and my nails looked nice and I was very happy. Another time, I had someone else who got polish off the nail and did not correct the manicure. for the services they render, it is quite expensive and it's difficult to sign up for their rewards programs as well. The one saving grace of this place is that they are open later than some of the other salons in the area, so if you need a quick after work fix, they are available. They also are pretty open to accommodating you if you call ahead as well as will accommodate any need for appointments as well. The ambiance is nice as well with multiple relaxing areas and it is quite quiet and soothing. read more

AMAZING! Let me tell you, my mother and I love a girls day and have tried MANY salons and LYLY locations and always found something that made us decide to continue our search for a great salon. The techs at this location work so hard to provide a relaxing experience for all their customers including offering complimentary drinks. Booked a last minute appointment via yelp around 10pm which was VERY convenient when your nail breaks the day before your birthday party . The owner texted me and confirmed the next morning which was a nice personal touch. It was my first visit here and conveniently located less than 10 min from downtown mke. They did not ask me to wash my hands upon arrival(like my normal salon does with Covid), so I took the initiative and told my nail tech before she began my service and went to wash my hands. I'm visiting from NYC. Was trying to find a nail salon in the area. Called a few places to get the prices and was shocked that regular manicure in this area is $20-35. Like WHAT? This is insane! I pay $10-15 in Manhattan NY! Anyways, Ly Ly nail salon was the "lowest" price I could find, so I decided to come here. Place is clean, staff is friendly and professional. Tips in cash only. Their regular nail polishes are O.P.I (small selection) and this other brand I never heard of. I picked the other brand because of large color options. My manicurist asked if I wanted "no-chip" polish/coat, I said "no" because it prob costs extra. I didn't bother asking how much. At this point I didn't want to spend any extra $, just wanted to get my nails done for the nye. I was very happy and satisfied when I left the salon, even took a picture of my nails because I was planning to leave a nice review. DAY #2: my nail polish is freaking chipped/cracked!!! Almost all fingers!! What the hell? When I paint my own nails (using ESSIE), it takes 5+ days to chip, NOT 1 day. I'm so upset! It's either the nail polish, the base coat or top coat that sucks!!! Terrible quality! That's why they ask if you want "no chip" option. This is a scam. Piece of advice, find another place to get your nails done, or do your own nails. What a waste of money! read more

The employees are great! No doubt in that! They work there asses off for an ass though. The owner or manager, whoever tf he is, is rude af and an ass. He refused to give me the design I wanted and laughed in my face about it. AND what he did was a sloppy job. I had black nail polish before and wanted white. He could've easily drilled the black off but he didn't. I'm a nice person so I still let him do my nails and I still tipped. Will I go back to him? Hell tf no. I'll just do my own. Jinda was my nail tech for my pedicure and she did an outstanding job! She was very conversational and offered me refreshments right away. I called at noon on a Saturday for a walk in and they were able to take care of me- no wait at all. The salon and bathroom were both very clean. All nail tools used were packaged individually as well as the sandals afterwards. Overall a great experience. read more

Disappointed that I didn't get a typical manicure or even the basic of the basic, that usually comes with cuticle care and dead skin removal, all that happened was nails filed and polish on. $5 up charge to paint my one finger gold and my sister got a $5 up charge for removing nail polish from her toes. They work in these up charges because they know they're not going to get tipped. Also they cut me with a basic cardboard mail file next time I'll take my $55 back to future nails, should have never left them. read more

Wow, I came in for pedicure and decided to add a couple more services. I was told that it may or may not be workable due to be close to closing. I was told this by the manager. I am not making up this rule. My gal who did the toes was absolutely horrible. She could have done a good job on my feet. No clue as I still haven't had the chance to look at them. She started in on a manicure and when I said that he manager told me that waxing had to happen first. If there was time, we could do the manicure. Since she got angry amar me for telling her what I was told -- responding only with "she was the one providing the service, I needed to make a decision" with so much inconsideration and rudeness I opted to Forego all of the services I had requested. I wanted out. The he flowers on my toes.... My granddaughter at age 3 was more artistic holy cow. They are not cheap, not even "reasonable". I am here for work and go home tomorrow (Fl). My gel manicure chipped only a few days after getting it done. I did come back and they fixed it for free... But my whole set started chipping and peeling off a few days after that. i'm not sure why the quality is lacking. Other places I've gotten gel manicures last 2-3 weeks. read more

If zero stars were possible I would plug that in. My wedding party and I got our nails done here two days before my wedding. They did a horrendous job on my nails. When I calmly explained my dissatisfaction with them they blamed me for showing a bad example picture and told me to come back the next day as well as pay full price to get them redone. I never write reviews for places but I really think people should know how rude, inconsiderate and money hungry they are. If I would have known this I never would have brought my bridal party. One star is too many for this sad disaster of a nail salon. I used to come here every 3-4 weeks from their opening until management changed hands a couple of years ago. I enjoyed getting my nails done back then. It ranged from happy & fun to serene spa. Management used to laugh and positively interact with their clientele and staff. You felt welcome and appreciated. They knew your name when you walked in. I looked forward to going. And they always fixed any mistakes without hesitation or argument. After management changed though I had 2 horrible back to back experiences that made me very reluctant to visit again. After 2 years I recently tried them again because I really needed my nails done and I thought may be enough time had gone by and was hoping the vibe and service had changed for the better. My most recent visit, unfortunately, was NO better. The vibe in the salon is morbid. No one smiles and it feels very tense. The staff is so silent unless they absolutely must speak. You can hear a pin drop in a negative way. You can tell that no one really likes working there and management doesn't care about their clientele or workers. You are just a number and their paycheck. It feels like the techs are being forced to work there by their attitudes & expressions. There is no pride in their workmanship or client experience. On this day, I had the "barbie doll" technician who had a holier than thou attitude. She delighted the salon with a mini-dress that barely covered her butt (as long as she didn't bend over) and everything big, tight, fake, & revealing. I think she thought she was auditioning for a strip club. Or may be there are extra services offered in the back...it made you wonder. She rolled her eyes if you asked her anything or if something didn't go her way. She had more than 6 different phone conversations with her airpods in her ears while working on me. On one conversation she talked about picking up quantity for something for a party/event that night. -(which could be misconstrued as something illegal.) She would move her hands in such a way that she didn't even want to talk unless absolutely necessary. As if talking to a mere mortal would give her bodily pain. She would tap your foot or hand or whoosh her hand by to let you know she wanted you to change hands, move, or put your feet in the water. She did subpar care of the steps of the mani-pedi. I was only getting clear polish and you could see every mistake she made. She even left nail-jam under every nail! On my pedi she left obvious bits of orange polish that she didn't properly remove from my previous session. She missed spots of dead skin around the nails and bottom foot pad. Nail length & shaping were done unevenly. She did 1 base coat and 1 clear coat and expected to be done. And the polish wasn't smooth on any nail. I had to repeatedly ask her to add an extra coat because if you didn't, you weren't getting it. I wanted to leave after the pedi, but she had already soaked the polish on my fingernails for removal. It was a Saturday late afternoon and the only day that I had before surgery, so I just stayed the course. As she began the mani, she propped her mobile up at an angle and she ACTUALLY watched videos!!! Her eyes glanced over to the screen as often as possible until she was finished with me. Her airpods obviously giving her more entertainment than a peon like me or the work she was actually supposed to do. My fingernails were slightly better looking, but she did a poor job at scratching the tops of the fingernails so that the gel polish would stay. I'm not sure it was just a lack of care on her part or done on purpose so that you'd have to come back sooner than 3 weeks. Within 2 days, the polish began to lift up on the ends and sides of every nail. I never saw the ends lift so fast before. By day 5, six fingernails had 50% of the polish lifting. Within 10 days eight fingers' polish had lifted off so bad that food and hair were getting stuck underneath. Annoyed, I just peeled them off which took little effort. I didn't see how bad my toenails were until I got close enough to them at home which really burned my chaps at how bad they were for how much I spent. I grumbled internally everytime I looked at my nails until all the polish was gone. It was the WORST mani-pedi I have ever had out of over 500 in my life. PLEASE avoid this place. Save yourself the inconvenience. Pick any other salon and it will likely be better than this one. You have been warned, my friends. Buyer beware. read more

I came to this salon for a pedicure before a vacation. The technician did not really talk to me much and was not very communicative about what she was doing. I was there with a friend, so I wasn't paying much attention to the service. I paid and got home. When I took my shoes off, I realized that there was significant dead skin on my feet and that I had skin peeling in several places. I specially went in to get the dead skin off my feet. Such a bummer! When I asked the salon for a refund because I can't get in before I leave for my trip, the owner was extremely rude. I said that a gift certificate for the cost of my service would be fine and was told "No!" When I said that I would have to dispute the charge with my credit card company, the owner started calling me names, including "bad client." I am super bummed that this nice treat turned out to be such a headache! read more

My experience was sub par at best.. the pedicure was not done well at all.. and to take that experience and turn in into a problem I presented was extremely unprofessional..the inexperience of one technician seemingly offended you .. I did not raise my voice nor show the actual disgust I felt with his inability to do so much as clip my toenails evenly..it says a lot about what YOU think of the customers experience.. my experience should have been great as that was what I was paying for..telling me another tech that I've used in the past who's work was stellar was all of a sudden concerned with the way I treated the other tech.. is ludicrous .. I kindly pointed out to the tech his errors.. right now I have to go elsewhere to have my pedicure done correctly..we both know these services come a dime a dozen .. you expect your clients to be prompt.. polite.. and pay for their service.. I went here with a friend and we were both not impressed with our pedicures. First the place was dirty visible dust the lady doing my pedicure looked like she had not washed her hair in weeks very greasy. Cleanliness was lacking all around. They had a tv playing no music and not a relaxing vibe at all. They barely speak to you or are kind just talked to one anorher in their language. We both felt they rushed through the pedicure I didnt not even get lotion on after the wash and hot towel! They hot towel is typically wrapped around feet and let to sit for awhile this was thrown on top and quickly taken off that was it. No massage or lotion must have forgot that step my friend did get that. The polish itself was nice. But feet left feeling dry as skipped the lotion step. Not relaxing at all felt vwry very rushed through. I would not recommend not much cheaper than other pay a little wxtra to have better service! read more

Love this Ly Ly Nails location! I have been coming to this location for almost a year now. It is very convenient to downtown Milwaukee which makes it a super easy commute. For being close to downtown, I love that this location is attached to a huge parking lot. It makes it so much less stressful not having to worry about finding a parking spot. I stop-in about every 3 weeks to have a fill and color change. I never make an appointment with them and usually just walk-in for an appointment. They are very easy going and I usually sit either right away or within 15 minutes of arriving. They always ask if I would like something to drink when I arrive and make sure that I am able to pick my color right away. Almost every time I have been here, I have had Kevin do my nails. Kevin is awesome and does such a good job! He also makes sure not to take a super long time on my nails to where I am sitting there for over an hour which I appreciate. I would definitely recommend coming here to get your nails done. It is very clean and all of the people are very nice! read more

Ly Ly is clean, opens instruments that are in sealed sterilized packs in front of each client and had a pretty good selection of colors including new OPI collections. They offered small bottle of water while getting pedicure. The manicurist didn't spend a lot of time on calluses but did a good job with the color application. I've been here twice and had a better experience my second time. The gel manicure I got the manicurist cut my cuticles a few times and also was slightly sloppy in application of the color along the sides of my nails. I think this spot is worth a try but perhaps figure out which manicurist you prefer. Tom was kind and gentle and did a good application of the polish. read more

I liked this salon when it first opened and regularl patronized it. But the service is now more inconsistent than anything. Sometimes I have a great dip set and other times, my nails crack the very next day. This happens even if I go to the same tech consistently. The location is clean and the people are friendly, but I am now seeking our new nail salons. The dip is too expensive to be so hit or miss. read more

Had a reservation with a friend for 10:45 on a Saturday, but had to wait half an hour to start our appointment, and they took us back at different times which was a bummer since we wanted to sit and chat together. I saw that some other customers were offered a beverage, but we were not. The pedicure itself was fine. Chairs were comfortable, everything seemed clean, and my toes looked great when I left. The polish didn't last as long as it has when I've had it done at other salons. Prices are a little on the high side, and were different in the store than what I saw online. I might try it again, but I've had more timely and friendly service at other salons, so will probably frequent those instead. read more
