[See update on July 9, 2015, incuding bankruptcy prediction]
Since lyft forums did not allow me to post, I posted to yelp (note links in this posting):

Driver Leroi, in a gray Chrysler 300 ripped me off and probably kept the money. This is how corrupt drivers rip off Lyft and Lyft customers.
I had $20 in credit on lyft. On March 19, 2015 at 9:56 pm I accidentally pressed the lyft ride button. I found this out when the driver called me: Leroi, in a gray Chrysler 300.
I felt sorry for the guy and told him that I would not cancel the ride, and to cancel it himself so that he could get some money for his trouble.
I watched on the app as his car sat in the same location for 20 minutes, about 1/2 mile from his location. I called him back and ask him to end the ride. He said that their was technical problems, and he could not cancel the ride. I called him back a few minutes later. He said again, he could not cancel the ride because of "technical problems" with Lyft. He was able to text and receive phone calls, yet he said Lyft was down. I told him to move his car, because if he didn't have reception he could get it if he moved around. He scoffed at the idea, and refused. Five phone calls and numerous text later, I gave up.
Two hours later, I was charged $49.99 for the ride and $30 on my debt card. I did not have the money to cover the charge, so the charge was denied. Lyft said they would not refund the money without me first paying the $30 on my account.
Does Leroi, in a gray Chrysler 300 keep the $49.99? I am sure he does.
I was nice enough to give Leroi a few dollars for my mistake and he completely abused my good will.
People like Leroi, in a gray Chrysler 300 rip customers off and are a scourge and cancer to Lyft, destroying Lyft's reputation. Leroi should be fired from Lyft and Uber should be warned about Leroi also.
(below are links to screenshots of all of the conversations, phone calls and texts to leroi, and the emails to lyft.)

********** UPDATE: ************
[July 9, 2015]
Lyft refused to give me a $30 refund until I changed credit cards because the credit card I used had been previously canceled.
"Sorry to hear about the incorrect charge to your card. I would love to issue a refund for you but it seems that your credit card was declined for this instance. We are unable to give a refund if you card is invalid in our system. At your earliest convenience, please update your card in the app and email me back telling me that you did so and I can issue the refund. "
So I updated the credit card. It was easy for Lyft to take my money on a charge that I should never have paid in the first place, it was impossible for me to get a refund.
Come to find out, lyft no longer is monitoring support emails.
"Quick heads-up: We're no longer checking our support@lyft.com inbox, and instead ask that you use our Help Center to get an answer even faster."
It took me two days, about a half hour, and several emails, to figure out how to request a refund online at:

Worse, this thief is STILL working for Lyft:

"We appreciate you taking the time to send feedback about this driver. I have made a note of this driver's behavior and will be keeping a watchful eye on him. I have also wrote an email to our Pay Team to make sure this driver does not receive the pay for this "ride". "

Second message.
Refund this $30 as promised immediately.
Leroi is a thief who stole 30$ from me and 20$ from you.
I am posting this update that you never responded yesterday on the DC Lyft yelp page and how hard it was to contact you.
What is worse is that Leroi is still working for Lyft!
I am going to update on the profile that you keep thieves on as drivers.

Your customer service is a horrendous nightmare. Much much worse than Uber's. I am a business consultant. Everything that is happening with Lyft customer service is getting worse.
I predicted blockbusters, radio shacks, and Circuit City's demise years before anyone did. The only question is whether Lyft will go out of business before Best Buy.
If you are a lyft driver reading this I suggest finding another line of work. read more
