I've had a recent experience where the coach was so engaged in conversation and kept stepping away, that the tempo of the workout was incorrect for much of the class. I'd suggest working on a more approachable staff, who can greet members with a smile and deliver less attitude.

It's raw and hardcore great haven if you're focused and determined to get stronger and change your body for the better. Great environment great equipment. Clean. Good crowd good energetic vibe. I have a great story I have told many over the years. I'm from Chicago. Years ago had to be 2016. I was in the DFW area for a wedding. Had time to kill and as a serious bodybuilder myself I took a drive to Metro Plano. I go inside I meet the owners two brothers I believe. Introduce myself sat and chatted with them for about an hour. The bodybuilding scene of Texas, Illinois, the strength industry the trends of gyms and fitness culture. I've been around the scene for over 20 years by then so I know. I like to say I made rapport with the owners. Wasn't just some bloke in town who stumbled across the place I purposely went there. Skipped D.D. Skipped Metroflex Arlington and even the now defunct EX.I.P. I wanted to see Metroflex Plano. So I gladly paid my daily fee got a workout in the place is awesome. After the workout I chatted with the two brother owners again for a bit expressing my satisfaction of the facility. So when you walk in the place there's the first set of doors then there's a huge looks like a giant wooden door you'd see in front of a castle right next to the long desk the owners sit at. On that wooden door are a bunch of tags. Just members and locals signing their name on the door maybe tagging things like "Metroflex Get Big or Go Gome" "Big Joe was here Metroflex Gym, baby..." Cool element. Looks good it's suiting to the vibe there. I see a bunch of sharpie markers on the desk so I was about to leave I grab a sharpie and say to the owners.... "Thanks for letting me workout I'm gonna sign my name on the door if that's cool." My intention was to match the tags like.... Shane Was Here. Chicago Represent! August # 2016. One of the owners both of them look identical very Duck dynasty stubby guys STOPS me literally stops me and says..... "Whoa Whoa Whoa, brother. Can't let you do that. Only members can. Sorry." I look at him look at the door riddled with tags like hundreds - again - cool suiting element to the place. "Really?" "Sorry, man. Can't let ya..." Hahahahaha. I put the Sharpie down and say....... "Okay?" Walked out grinning thinking to myself "Wow." Next day before the wedding I went to D.D. lo and behold they also have a wall in the gym very similar concept. Tons of tags and names scribbled on it. I ask the desk guy if I can sign my name on it. He goes.... "For sure, man!" hands me a marker. D********** D***** Amazing Gym Shane From Chicago (date). Guess what. It's still there! My local cousin sent me a pic of it a while back while he was there. Made me smile. That's it that's my Metroflex Plano experience. But great gym nonetheless. Next time I'm in town I'd like to revisit and maybe just maybe this time tag my name on the door. I'm not entitled by any means I just believe that sometimes you just got to give them the pickle!

This location particularly has a less than consistent hygiene routine. Dirty equipment, dirty floors, dirty in general, really needs a good scrubbing. To cancel your membership is a rabbit hole of call this location, visit this person, sign here, and by the way you followed the instructions and we can see that you did, but we did not finalize the transaction in our computer. So we just kept charging you. I went in person visiting this location to cancel my multiple year membership, due to moving to a location where a gym is not easily accessible. Was told it was handled and good luck on your move. (2024) Months later still being charged, called the location here in Plano, instructed to call the gym I signed up at originally. Did so instructed to reach back out to Plano. Did so, emailed a confirmation of cancellation. (early 2025) Months Later still getting charged. Called in again sent down the steps previously, with one addition. Text confirmation to x phone number. Texted confirmation to said number. (mid 2025) Finally 2026 is here. Reviewing my bank statements, the charge is still there. I followed their instructions multiple times so went to contact corporate, good luck on that one. Probably easier to get a hold of Musk cell phone than a number for their main office. But you can call the billing company they use. The billing company will not assist you unless you want to update a credit card for their files. finally after many going back and forth with conversation of filling a complaint to the BBB and T-AG for business practices, I get some attention in this matter. I provide the information stated in this review. The owner Sandra, informed by manager of this location, they review (assuming with the time gap in conversation) and denied any reimbursement. This particular facility is owned and operated as a franchise, this franchisee is a true capitalist at all cost, charge every penny you can while providing the minimal amount of services to comply with franchise by laws. If you can access another gym in your local area do so, it is very easy to transfer your account apparently. Just go to another gym a few times and your account magically transfers.

However, the dumbbells only go up to 75lbs and there are no free weights (when I last went), so to advance in strength training is rather difficult. One thing to note is that we noticed the West Plano location is open 24 hours on weekdays, but this location is not. They also don't have a Crunch-O-Meter tracker on the app to check how busy the gym is. Maybe that will come with future updates as the gym gets bigger. ---------------------- After my recent terrible experience as a potential member at 24 Hour Fitness in East Plano, I felt unmotivated to sign up for a gym with my friends. However, one friend has been searching for a new gym since he recently moved to Texas, so we decided to check out Crunch Fitness. I must say, I was amazed by the giant facility. We toured a few gyms this week to compare amenities, and Crunch Fitness has everything the others offer, and MUCH MORE. My friends enjoy lifting weights, and the other gyms in the area have only a couple of racks or are too expensive for our budget. Crunch Fitness has SO MANY racks, free weights, and different sections that focus on various workout interests. Their cardio section look nice, and I love the butt working section! The amenities that stood out to me the most were the ride cycle classes and hot yoga. Those weren't offered at other nearby gyms, so seeing them available here was a pleasant surprise. I also value honesty above everything, and Carter (who gave us the tour) actually explained all the fine print fees that people usually complain about ($60 maintenance fee and $2.25 monthly processing fee). Despite those extra fees, the gym still costs less than $35/month with their highest plan, Peak Results. Also, Carter explained the cancellation policy on how you cannot cancel after 7 days, and before 90 days, during the tour, so that we won't be shocked if that comes up later. The facility is also super clean and well-maintained, although I don't know if that's because this location has only been open for 96 days. My friends and I are still debating, but this gym is definitely my top choice. They have multiple locations in Dallas (especially West Plano and Frisco, where I work), which would make it easier to visit with no excuses. I really liked the facility tour, and we'll probably go back this week for our trial day to check out how busy it gets during peak hours (6-7 PM).

My friends and I were interested in joining a gym together, so we went to the 24 Hour Fitness in Richardson yesterday to get our guest passes. We filled everything out online, signed the waivers at the gym, and the employee told us we could visit other locations for three days to try out their amenities. We went to the Plano location today and presented the guest passes we received from Richardson. That's when the manager, Eloise, stopped us and claimed our papers weren't legitimate. I was confused and honestly baffled because we followed all the steps at the Richardson location. She didn't even try to verify the information in her system before assuming we were lying. I asked her to call the Richardson gym to confirm everything--because seriously, who fakes a gym guest pass? She called, but they couldn't verify anything either since the employee who helped us wasn't working today. At that point, I was already frustrated for two reasons: 1. Her attitude was terrible, especially toward three potential new members. 2. She had the nerve to tell me, "There's no reason for you to raise your voice," when I was just trying to explain the situation. I've worked in customer service for over 10 years, and I've never seen a manager escalate a situation like this. Isn't a manager supposed to de-escalate issues? We even asked, if the vouchers were invalid, could she just issue new ones? She said no because the Richardson and Plano systems are different. Again--how is that our problem? Why couldn't she be helpful and try to solve the issue? Maybe offer us a tour of the gym or at least acknowledge that we made an effort? Her attitude came across like, "Wow, they're lying." It's a gym, not some fancy restaurant. Like, what??? I had heard good things about this gym, but after today, I'd strongly advise people to stay away--at least from the Plano location. If this is how they treat guest pass holders who are genuinely interested in signing up, that says a lot. I really hope 24 Hour Fitness addresses the behavior of their manager, Eloise.
