I've been a member of this gym for about 2 yrs now. It's been a decent gym, and could improve for…read morethe same reasons others have mentioned. My wife and I had to cancel our memberships recently, and expected it to be a pain. But Claire (a young lady who works up front) made it fast and easy! I'll definitely come back here in the future to re-subscribe when the time is right.

I signed up for sessions and was told I could choose from 3 different tiers so I chose the $230 package and Javon signed up on his computer, and I was not able to see anything other than signing the boxes on the pen pad. I trusted him. He told me he could not print out the contract because the printer didn't work, but that I would get it via email. The initial first were fine but Once their charge of $440 hit my card, I found out most of the trainers were on vacation or out of the country so I could not get help so I had to wait till everyone got back and still could not get assistance getting a copy of my contract so that I could point out the error. Nothing was ever emailed to me. I could not get someone at the front desk to help me, even though I came by in person, and I had also called. Then their facility manager left/quit and I finally was able to speak to a guy that was leaving LA Fitness at the Sachse location to go to college, but he told me that I could talk to the new manager, Claire and she would be able to help me. He was also nice enough to provide me the LA Fitness headquarters phone number that nobody else would share with me. At this point another $440 charge hit my card and once I finally did speak to Claire she told me she did not have access to the system to assist me! So then I spoke to Javon again (once he came back from vacation) and found out that he had typed my email address wrong. So after having him correct it -at that point you would think I would get the contract but I did not and still no assistance correcting the overcharge for the pt package. So then I called their headquarters and I spoke to Antonio and he told me he would assist me and he would talk to Javon and they would get everything worked out. And Then. Nothing no emails no callbacks nothing. So then I had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get the amount lowered to the amount I had agreed to. And Then my trainer, Debbie reached out to me asking me if I would schedule my remaining sessions that I had been charged for and I said, "sure. " Then she tells me that because I filed the credit card claim that their computer system would not let her schedule any sessions. Mind you, I did not file a credit card dispute other than the additional charge they shouldn't have charged me. They were still going to get their $230 for my sessions instead of $440, but LA Fitness still locked me out of their system and now I'm out that money because now that the credit card company has finalized that dispute and gave them $230, I will not get my money back nor will I get the sessions LA fitness owes me. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and I highly recommend you sign up with caution and make sure you walk out of there with a printed contract or don't sign anything. They are not honest, nor professional. Highly disappointed.

Steam room, red light and sauna need maintenance more often…read more I truly wish management would limit the $10 access to the least busy hours. This gym has potential but it's overcrowded with teenagers who just hang out. We need a good gym Murphy-Wylie area with a more expensive entry level and higher quality.

In late May my company bought a 12-month personal training package at the Murphy location for one of our employees -- "3x60min 12Months," three sixty-minute sessions a week at $66 a session, $792 a month. I am the account holder. The employee was never responsible for any of it, and CLUB4 has never billed him a dollar. Over two billing cycles CLUB4 collected $1,584 from us, for 24 sessions. It delivered five. Month one: the manager who sold us the package said he would train our employee personally. He did exactly one session, about 45 minutes rather than the contracted 60, then left CLUB4 and moved out of state. No replacement trainer was assigned. Weeks passed with nothing. The billing never missed. Month two: a second trainer was assigned, cancelled the scheduled sessions almost immediately, and four sessions eventually happened in the last two weeks. Nineteen prepaid sessions were simply never provided -- $1,254 worth at their own price. Our employee was available the entire time and never missed an appointment. Two things to know if you are considering a contract here. Their agreement expires unused sessions six months after purchase, so every week they fail to staff a trainer runs the clock down on sessions you already bought. And a payment "freeze," which is what they offered us as a fix, extends your contract by however many months you freeze -- something we were not told when it was proposed. We served written notice of breach twice by certified mail and offered three ways to resolve it, one being a straight refund of what was never delivered. CLUB4 ignored both letters. Seven weeks later they referred the account to collections in our employee's name. Whatever the equipment is like, this is how the contracts are administered. Read yours carefully.
