My first delivery actually got lost, and I had to get the bellman to talk to my driver (biker actually) to help him with the hotel's address. So, make sure you get this right. After a long day vacationing in Lisbon, we were looking to do takeout pizza and chill with a movie one night. Something pretty traditional (neapolitan w/ pepperoni). Taking a cue from my fellow Yelpers, Luzzo looked like it could deliver (see what I did there?). There are 7 locations scattered throughout Portugal, but this one was just blocks from our hotel. They have a wide variety of specialty pizzas. We went with the Tutti Trufi (mozzarella, truffles) and the Guilia (pepperoni, chicken, carmelized pineapple). Both had a perfect crust - thin and a blend between chewy and crispy. Cheese allocation was generous (the way I like it!). Totally hit the spot. It's always a little iffy when you're ordering takeout in another country, but pizza is pretty much a universal food category at this point, and I would absolutely order from Luzzo again. read more

Found this gem while looking for something that would make everyone in our party happy. I ordered the gnocchi with mushrooms and it was absolutely delicious! The hubby shared a pizza with my little one as we had seen from other tables that the pizzas were a pretty good size. I gave him a taste of some of my gnocchi and he was a happy camper. We then ordered the strawberry cheesecake to share which came layered in a cup. Not sure what the crunch was on top but I wished I had ordered my own since it was so good.To top it all off, our waiter was super friendly. read more

Restaurant focused on pizzas, you can also have salads. Nice friendly staff, good quick service, and tourist friendly ( they tell you that the starter they bring is optional and cost money ) The pizza was good, and so was the salad, nothing fancy, but a nice place to sit down and relax and have an easy cheap lunch. Went to this pizzaria last night and there are some things to say about it. First, I tried to make a reservation through their website and when we got there we didn't have a reservation. That wasn't a problem because we (two people) got there early but it would have been annoying if we got there later and the restaurant was full. So call the restaurant to make a reservation, just to be sure. Then, the ordering process is done through a tablet. This I liked. No need to track a waiter down when we needed it. We just ordered on the tablet (the drinks, the appetizers, the pizzas, and then later the desserts and coffee) and things would then be brought to our table pretty quickly. As for the food, everything we had was delicious. The pizzas are great, some of the best I've eaten in Lisbon so I definitely recommend the place. Yummy Good Pizza! Last night in Lisbon, we've done all the cod, seafood and native cuisines we could find (does Goanese Indian count too?). Walking up the Avenida towards Marquis Pombal and hit Yelp! up for something quick and easy. Luzzo Pizzeria popped up well-reviewed and it deserves it. The pizza has a nice, well-made thin crust, the toppings are perfect. The bread tray they bring has a pesto that will honestly make you lick the bowl. Don't dare miss the brownie, it's divine! How's the Pizza in Lisbon? Who asks that kind of question? Well I did and the answer is at Luzzo it's damned good. It's very fresh, a thin sort of soft crust, amazing fresh ingredients, and a very pleasant environment. Of course these are typical Lisbon comments, but the not so typical element that is at play in Lisbon is the interplay of ingredients that seem to not make sense. I had a pizza with ham, sautéed onions, and a red sauce made with red wine. Sounds a little different but it was amazing. read more

We loved Luzzo! Small, cute, buzzy place with great pizza and salads. The manager helped us choose an excellent bottle of Portuguese red, a cab-merlot-grenache blend for only 28 Euros. Trust me on this as we are wine snobs. Service fast and friendly. Another reviewer complained that it's not like Pizza Hut. Oh please. We were a group of 12 and went based on a recommendation from reception at the Hotel Oslo down the street. We were seated in the back of the restaurant and basically felt like we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. Service was outstanding and the food was even better. The dishes were very reasonably priced as well. If you are craving Italian food while in Coimbra then I would definitely give this restaurant a shot. You won't regret it!! read more

I frequently visit Lisbon, and Luzzo is new and it is in my neighborhood. I just tried it out tonight, and here is the the rundown. Not by any stretch of the imagination was it my kind of pizza. Luzzo serves their pies on an ultra thin limp crackery crust. It's something that I typically do not enjoy when I look for a pizza. Pizza Hut makes a crust more to my liking. That being said, Luzzo does offer something like 36 different toppings, so you have a choice. I got their signature Sifreddi pizza. Cheese, spicy pepperoni marinara sauce and rocket lettuce. Okay, the pizza was tasty, I will give it that. My dining mate got the Popeye (as you might imagine, (spinach). I also had a Bulldog Gin and Tonic. The drink was a delight, but at 9.50 euros the price was a bit steep. Although that is about the going rate in town lately. They garnished the Bulldog with lemon, lime and orange, so it was really good, and if the 9.50 euros is within your price point, I suggest ordering one. When I asked my dining mate what her favorite pizza was, she answered Pizza Hut. So I said, why are we here? Well, this is the place to go when you want to have fancy pizza. When I want a really good hearty pizza I go to pizza hut. So there you go, fancy pizza at Luzzo, and the price reflected that, about a 10 euro average on the pizzas, but more if you order one with truffles. Again, tasty, but not my kind of pizza. Additionally, and I'm not sure if this is a Portuguese thing, they don't slice the pizza for you. You end up doing a lot of damage to the crust and toppings when you're made to slice it up at your table with the knife and fork provided. Also a Portuguese thing, (Couvert), Luzzo has a triple threat couvert, it's about 3 euros, and contains bacon with honey, pesto, and oil and balsamic vinegar. When the waiter brings it to your table, please ask him politely no thank you and have him bring it back, not only was it not worth the 3 euros, it was short on bread and pizza crust sticks as to waste the sauces. Will I go again? Probably not, but that is not to say you shouldn't give it a try and see for yourself. The location has easy tourist access as it is about a block off the northeast side of Avenida de Liberdade and a few blocks southeast of Marques Pombal. read more
