    Prosciutto pizza
    Mike H.

White table-clothed pizza restaurant with supposedly some of the best pizza around. I got a prosciutto pie with mozzarella and ricotta (€). The pizza was to be eaten with a fork and a knife. It was very good for non-NY style, but it was bland. The crust was good because it was chewy, thin but not thinny thin, and not puffy. I'd get the pepperoni pizza because it was exponentially more flavorful.

The rankings are well earned, and definitely some of the best pizza around. The service was impeccable as well. It's small so a reservation is almost always needed and recommended. Best for small groups of four or less

Visiting from Los Angeles and this gem of a restaurant has amazing service and amazing food! Thank you for squeezing us in - we'll be back!

Fantastic find in heart of Lisbon. Gets crazy busy even at 6pm so make sure you make reservations. Wine is priced well, you cannot go wrong with pasta or pizza. I would not recommend getting teh fish special as the portion is small and nothing special. Go Italian since you choosing Italian restaurant. The space is very small and can feel crowded, same with bathrooms hence why the 4 stars. Great service!

Make a reservation ahead of time, or plan to order take out otherwise I promise you will not get in! And we dined on a weeknight for two. My husband and I love to look for upscale pizza (or locally prepared and inspired) when we travel. I am glad I found this restaurant ahead of time and made a reservation. Dining for dinner doesn't typically open until 7:00pm. We were seated right away with a reservation. The restaurant itself is small, and seating is close, but this I found to be very standard for European dining. In all honesty, you hardly notice how close you are to others, but it also helps to look and see some of the food options if you like to see food prepared before ordering! It did help us determine how many pizzas to order. We tried two new to us pizzas and started with bruschetta. The bruschetta was amazing, would 10/10 recommend. And please don't skip out on dessert, you won't be disappointed. Our waitress was so incredibly helpful and patient with us as we ordered. She did speak English which was helpful. This restaurant was a great, romantic date night location. There is a narrow set of stairs that leads into the restaurant from the street, just a note on wheelchair accessibility.

CASH ONLY- read below for ugly details Let me start by saying the pizza here is great. It's not the best or most authentic I've had but it's definitely worth the trip, especially if you're looking for a break from the local staples. The service is decent- they definitely give the tourists a different experience. As is common in Portugal, they will put food on the table and charge you for it. They gave us a basket of focaccia, as well as a piece of tomato bruschetta for each person. Your chance to decline is now or never. You'll be charged ~€2 each for the bruschetta and another ~€2 for the bread for the table. It's not a huge deal (and the bruschetta was delicious), but it's something to be aware of. We ordered one pizza from the Portugal section and another from the Italian section. Both were great. The crust was soft and doughy but held up to the toppings nicely and the flavor was on point. We dipped the crust in the olive oil they left for the focaccia and took our leftover pizza home as it was too good to leave. At the end of the meal we asked for the check and instead were served two glasses of port. I clarified that the waiter did in fact say "complimentary" and then allowed him to pour. It was a nice touch and I'll never pass up a taste of port to finish off a meal. I'm not usually one to be snobby about small charges on the bill but based on what I witnessed at the next table, I was extra vigilant here. The two girls dining next to us were told that their credit card could not be accepted and spent 20 minutes scrounging for euros and even visiting an ATM down the street. When it was our turn to pay, the waiter kindly asked that I pay at the counter with my card. At the counter he told me that they could only accept Portuguese credit cards as the machine was broken. I'm calling BS, because I've just read multiple reviews from as long as a year ago stating the same thing- foreign cards turned away for cash. Overall- good pizza. Just bring cash.

It's a big establishment that looks beautiful outside and inside. Our waiter was very observant, bringing another customer napkins when he saw the customer had spilled something on himself, and bringing us more bread when he saw we were almost done. However, he mixed up the combinations of our orders. The beef steak order was supposed to have Portuguese sauce with fried eggs but there were no eggs and it came with mustard sauce, which didn't taste as good as the Portuguese sauce. The chicken steak was supposed to come in mustard sauce and no fried egg but it was covered in Portuguese sauce topped with a fried egg. Pao Torrado Fatitas (bread) - .65 euros. 2 Manteiga, 2 Manteiga Alho (4 packs of butter)- 3.20 euros. The garlic butter was too addicting for my own good. The beef/chicken steaks drenched with either Portuguese or mustard sauce came with two free sides (rice, salad, etcand a fried egg for an extra charge. The chicken steak was only 9.95 euros while the beef steak was 15.60 euros. I absolutely loved the spinach purée side, it didn't sound appetizing but it was so bomb. Try dipping your fries in it! Overall, the chicken steak was a bit boring even with the sauce. They didn't have hamburgers left.

FARTA BRUTOS, is a tiny place with a LOT of character that's been around for 113 years (as I mentioned above, our waitress spoke zero English so this was a little challenging at first). After our wine tasting I decided to have another taste of red from the Douro region (no, it doesn't really pair well with what I had, but I don't care). It's a crappy photo, but we had an appetizer plate (they're sneaky-they bring it to you THEN tell you if you don't want it they can take it away...we kept it). Olives (for Wifey) and a tuna mixture that didn't seem to have much more than olive oil and finely chopped onions - and it came with some Portuguese bread - I loved it. For our main meals, Wifey had a "fish rice" meal and I had a baked cod dish with potatoes and spinach that had enough garlic on it to keep the vampires away for the rest of the trip. We finished with a chocolate mouse that was nothing like anything I ever had. It was more like a thick frosting...so rich and chocolaty...so good... First of all the service was so slow to take our order. We aren't the sort that rush and worry about ordering as quickly as possible, but this took forever. It seemed like we'd been forgotten, despite the fact that we were on what seemed like a prime table. When they finally took it, we ordered a starter of scallops to share, and then two dozen mixed oysters between us. We had to ask for a wine list though, as they'd not bothered to give us one when we say down. The oysters came before the starter, with the scallops turning up half way through. This would have maybe been forgivable if it hadn't been for the fact that the scallops were awful, the oysters gritty (this is maybe not totally fair as six of the French one's were superb) and the shallot sauce was hardly there. The wine we ordered was okay, but the water we ordered never arrived. The place looked like it was trying to be a classy French bistro, but ended up looking like a the dining room in Fawlty Towers. We knew it wasn't cheap, and the bill was as expected, but I can promise you that it wasn't worth it. We won't be going back, and will be advising visiting friends to avoid it.
