I almost took a straw and sucked up the sauce but I was trying to be a lady for sure get the gnocchi and also the tortellini with the spinach and mushroom and ham with tomato sauce. The gnocchi has bacon and mushrooms and cognac. Chefs kiss!! If you know about Lisbon then you know the bathrooms are not great . This was the first bathroom all day that was clean, no body fluids and soap. I'm a happy woman. And let me tell you about Harish...he's incredible. I had read a fair bit about this place and had planned on going there our first full day in Lisbon, but it was closed on Sunday. We bided our time and went the Monday, and again on the Tuesday. The food just resonated with us, as we like Italian food when dining out, and make it a lot at home. The lovely K thinks I should have born Italian, instead of Welsh and French. I could only hope, for the food at least. Our first meal we got there fairly early by Portuguese standards, but we were hungry from all our wanderings amongst the hilly streets of Lisbon and taking the #28 tram, which you have to do if you go there. We ordered a bottle of Planalto white wine, which has become our go to on the white side. Inexpensive and very tasty. We also ordered entrees only as we had enjoyed a wonderful Greek salad with our lunch. The lovely K got the lasagna, which was not served in the traditional way that we are used to, but it was very good, if perhaps a bit on the rich side for her. I had the Scaloppine Milanese which satisfied my pasta, and protein craving very well. The service was top notch, we were greeted promptly, sat quickly, and well attended throughout the meal. Our server was very personable and thanked us each time he came to the table. The interior was tastefully decorated and nice a clean which is always appreciated by us. Our second visit went very much like the first. Our server recognized us right away, and sat it at the same table as the night before. This time we shared the Milano salad as a starter and the same bottle of Planalto. I had the Saltimbocca Romano and the lovely K had the Scaloppine Funghi. Both times we felt well cared for, with the food plentiful, very tasty and fairly priced. If our two visits are any indication you can't go wrong dining at Prima Pasta in Lisbon. read more

The food here is fresh and delicious. I got the Tagliatelle with salmon, spinach, and cream. I wish I remembered to take a picture before eating because the presentation was lovely. On our first night in Lisbon, we literally stumbled across Prima Pasta entirely by chance; it looked inviting, and the food smelled wonderful, so we went in and lucked into an availability after only a few minutes of waiting. All the food was beautifully presented and totally delicious; made with quality ingridents and flawlessly prepared.  Over and above the quality of the food was the attentiveness of their staff.   Even though the restaurant was completely full by the time we finished our meal, the servers never failed to stop and answer questions, see to it that our glasses remained full, or enquire about other things we might want to eat and drink.  This is VERY impressive, and what sets an excellent restaurant head and shoulders above a very good one. I'm going to make a point of visiting Prima Pasta again the next time I visit Lisbon, and I have no hesitation about recommending it to anyone interested in a all-around five star dining experience, with excellent food and stellar service! read more

For our last meal in Portugal we wanted something different than all of the fish we had been eating the last two weeks so we went for Italian food. This restaurant had good reviews so we made a reservation. The staff was friendly in this cozy place though their AC was lacking during this early fall heat wave. When ever they turned it up the power went out in the restaurant thus it was off more than on. The food itself was good - we split a pizza and a salad which were both tasty. Looking for somewhere good for lunch, myself and my partner ended up walking around the area for a while, avoiding some not-so-pleasant looking places with menu wielders who kept trying to drag us in. We were lucky we held out because we ended up in this cosy spot. There was a bit of a wait for a table, but as soon as we were seated, the waitress popped around with some top notch bruschetta. I wasn't a huge fan of their house red, but holy moley, was my macaroni with eggplant in tomorrow sauce among my top ten pastas of all time. I'm assured the lasagne were to die for also. Came here on a Thursday for lunch. They have a few tables outside with chairs for two people to sit, but we were a party of 3 and wanted to sit outside. So as we walked in, we asked if we could be seated outside. We were greeted with a waitress who gave us an eye roll and seemed SO annoyed that we were even asking this question. Proceeded to lead us outside and explained to us they couldn't seat 3 outside because it might block the sidewalk. Okay...no problem, we just simply asked and she could've just told us that. She really didn't need to be so annoyed by a simple question. We were seated inside. It's a very cozy place on the smaller side. Except for about 3/4 tables, the restaurant was mostly packed. It seemed like locals looking for an Italian lunch fix frequent this place, which means the food MUST be good and not just a tourist trap. The food was AMAZING! The flavors for ALL the pasta was amazing, the pesto was exactly how pesto should taste, the tomato sauce was salted perfectly and spicy all at the same time. Really, the pasta here may be better than the pasta I've had in the states. The service just continued to get worse and worse. The waitress who rolled her eyes at us to begin with was our waitress for the meal and we'd see people who came in after us and even ordered after us, getting their meals before us. She literally wouldn't make eye contact or come by our table. If it wasn't for the fact that we were STARVING and had read great reviews for the food here, we probably would've just walked out. It's really sad when a restaurant with great, fresh food gets a negative review for service. I'd say come here for the food, because it's absolutely delicious, but hope you get better service than us. read more

Stumbled upon Prima Pasta while looking for another restaurant and made a note to go back the next night. Very glad we did!! We had the spaghetti carbonara and the rigatoni al forno ( shared a bit of each) and although the rigatoni was vey good the stand out was the carbonara. Smooth cream sauce that was not overly cheesed, with a good amount of bacon. It was some of the best I have ever had. We opted to accept the bruschetta and bread and both were very good. (like most places the will automatically put some simple apps on your table but they do charge a small fee, so don't eat if you don't want). I was in need for some greens and had the Insalata mista. It was a nice mix of very fresh greens and lettuce with plenty of cucumbers, tomato, and carrots. Big enough to share if you care to. They looked to have a very nice wine list, but I was in the mood for sangria. They mixed a nice semi sweet red with oranges, lemon and apple slices, very refreshing.
