This is the first bad review of a business that I have ever left. I was charged for a gel pedicure when I asked for a regular pedicure and had repeatedly told the employee that I wanted the cheapest option. My "gel" pedicure began chipping in less than a week, so I called the nail salon to ask for a refund. They told me to come in, but once I had driven the 20 minutes to the salon, they said that they actually do not give refunds and told me that "it wasn't that bad." Please do not give this place your business if you are looking for a place with quality service, honest employees, and any consideration for your time and money. read more

I have never had such a horrible manicure\pedicure in my life. We went to Luxury Nails as a group prior to my daughters wedding. The staff was very friendly and it was nice to all be able to sit by each other, but the outcome of literally all of our nails was absolutely horrible. Those who did not get gel manicures had polish that was bumpy and two went home removed the polish and applied their own. The rest of us who got gel were equally dissatisfied. My nails looked like they had already grown out by two weeks, my nails were cut extremely short and the tops were uneven. I had to further file my already short nails to make them even. Needless to say will not ever go back there again and will highly discourage anyone going there. read more

I called ahead and made an appointment for an express manicure one week ago today. I really debated whether or not I should post a review, however, my gut instinct wouldn't let me stay silent on the matter. Called ahead, thinking that they would be ready for me since I had a limited amount of time. The nail tech working on me was Jenny, and she was very nice, but I was not happy with my outcome and service. My appointment started 18 minutes late, while I was 10 minutes early, waited for over 25 minutes, not a great start. I came in the proud owner of healthy and beautiful natural long nails. Something that doesn't happen often since I am a violin player. I even commented a few times on how excited I was to have my nails long and strong. Jenny, unfortunately, used only a file, in a rough manner, to bring them back down to stubs. I was the last customer, and it was evident that people were wanting to rush through to get down and get out of there for the night as people cleaned around me and acted as though there weren't any customers left. The bowl that my nails were placed to soak in was metal and had rust spots, I almost refused to place my hand in the bowl. As for the color well, I ended up with this really cool effect where bubbles are visible in the polish, and the whole nail doesn't get covered evenly. I was rather sad since I was getting them done for an event the next day, and felt rather embarrassed. I don't think I'll return to try this salon ever again. I feel so sorry for this business that their Yelp page looks this bad from that one review, even though they have over 15 reviews that are ALL 5-STARS! I came here to make a review based on my superb experience but was shocked by it's 1-STAR rating it holds. I am an avid Yelp user and always take the time to click on "not recommended reviews" section because I find the software Yelp has implemented is flawed. I have found 15 5-STAR reviews from reliable sources (76 friends, 10 reviews, etc.) that are tucked away and yet the 1-STAR review from the account that was made the exact same day, no reviews made prior, was kept on top and is reflected in the overall rating. I had the best experience money can buy, and I expected it because I don't splurge on spa days very often. But all the staff were so helpful and generous to my friends and I visiting Notre Dame (omg, they even have a Notre Dame logo centered on the floor hahaha). Angela, Andy, and Jenny were very attentive, asked about our well-being, but never interrupted conversations my friends and I were having. When I walked in I asked for a full set and pedicure,as I am sitting down we confirmed my request. As my pedicure was finishing up I am asked to come back 2hrs later. It was not convenient for me to do so. I felt like my time and money was wasted. She was extremely unfriendly, bordering on rude, from the moment we checked in for our scheduled appointment until she moved me to the drying station. During my most recent visit, about 2 months ago, I got my gel mani as usual but within a day or two I noticed my middle finger started to become increasingly painful, red and super swollen. Well a few days later I visited the minute clinic. Turned out that my finger nail was infected and I had to be treated with antibiotics. I refuse to come here again. If you choose to come here please be careful and watch to see that your technician is using sterile instruments and washing their hands. I usually go to a salon about 30 mins away because they are amazing at ANC nails. However, they happened to be closed today and I needed my nails done quickly before a last minute business trip to Chicago. So a friend suggested coming to luxury nails. Aesthetically speaking, the most beautiful salon I have seen in the South Bend/Mishawaka/Granger area. The salon has 3 gorgeous crystal chandeliers, earth stone grey painted walls, and a beautiful cloud ceiling mural. The tech desks are wood and marble, environment is clean, and 2 VIP rooms off to the side I presume for waxing services. The front desk girls easily deserve 5 stars for their hospitality and knowledge, but this is where the good stops. This particular nail salon does not offer ANC nails, but does SNS nails. ANC & SNS are techniques where acrylic dipping powder is applied to your real nail. You'll never want to go back to shellac after experiencing ANC or SNS if done correctly! The tech I had was not personable and rude. He gave me a few swatches to look at and I picked out a mauve color. He began filing my nail with the power tool. He burned my pinky nail and I asked him if he could soak my nails first and then file them down. He asked me if they did not file my nails at the other salon I go to. I told him they usually soak my nails first for 15- 20 minutes and then file them down. ( I respect that every tech has a different technique, but he had burned my finger by filing down with the power tool. I also had 3 coats of dipping powder on that nail) He kept using his power tool anyway. After I told him I wanted the mauve color, he took away the swatches. He came back with another set of swatches that were all sparkly and a few solid colors. I asked him about the other color and he told me this was all he had, so I settled on red. If he did not have the other colors he should have not shown me them to begin with. I spent $50 for this SNS that is not as strong or as durable as ANC, my nails feel brittle and the gel is starting to peel on my index finger. I usually pay $35 for ANC and it last 3 weeks. As I was checking out a customer came in behind me. She had just gotten her shellac done 3 days earlier and 2 of her finger nails were chipping. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! They do a terrible job! Rather than using acetone and foil to remove dip/tips, they put a device under the nail and ripped off the tip. It also took part of the real nail off and the nail was bleeding and extremely painful. When questioned why not using acetone and foil as this is the normal way to do this service, they did for the remaining nails. They caused severe pain and wouldn't even refund our money for the service when requested. read more

I went here and got a full set of acrylics. They looked okay, but the sizes were a little big for my nails. The paint had these black bubbles in them about 2 days after I got them done. When I went back to get a fill, they asked me where I got them done. I told them I got them done here. The male acrylic tech then stuck his nail under all of the acrylics and ripped them off my nails. He then continued to tell me that it was my fault that he just ripped them off because my nails underneath weren't strong enough to keep them on. He put a new full set on, and made me pay for a new full set after he caused me to get one. I will never go back here. They damaged my nail beds so badly that I had to cut all my nails off and put growth stuff on them to help strengthen them again. They also use Dental acrylic for the nails instead of polymer acrylic that they are supposed to use! read more

I got a fill and the technician was doing a good job until he made my nails a lot thinner than I wanted and there wasn't a way to fix it unless I wanted to pay for a whole new set. The gel polish is lumpy and there are dust particles or something underneath the last layer so my nails are not smooth like they should be. I didnt get my nails designed with a shamrock for st patricks day because she attempted 3 times before I finally had enough. So I over all left a very dissappointed customer and still had to pay the overpriced $35 for a fill and polish. read more

Nothing luxurious about my experience or this place. Wrong color used, gel didn't cure, is sticky, and I have the owners hair stuck in my nail. Brought my own polish for pedi which they tried taking. I have been getting gel French nails for 3 years. No tips, just gel polish or shellac. Since I was in the area, and having a trip to Chicago the next day, I came in for the same. It is has a beautiful atmosphere. I have no idea what product they used, but it doesn't give strength to your nails. In 3 days I had a good size chip. There were also a sharp edge on the side of one! I returned the next week and thankfully the girls at the counter told me I could have them redone for free. They felt my nails which also had a tacky feel to them, saw the chip out of a nail, and felt the sharp edge on the one. Well, after the total redo, the very same day , maybe 2 hours later, I opened a cabinet door at home and broke off my thumb nail. I have a small chip on my pointer finger. this would be 1 star but because i have been there three times now to get acrylics and they did a great job both times i think they deserve a 2. HOWEVER THE NAILS BREAK VERY EASILY i get the pink and white full set every time and by the second week i have the nails at least two have cracked then eventually broken. Whenever i have gone to get my nail fixed after it breaks it is always free and they are very nice about it quick in and out BUT THIS TIME WAS DIFFERENT. i went in to get it fixed told them i needed it fixed and got multiple questions asked about which nail tech did my nails and what chair i sat in and how long ago it was and these questions were all asked at least twice and almost every tech in the store came looked at my nails and eventually i had enough of it so i said i will just do it at home and then i got sorta yelled at to sit so i did and then he finally did my nail while continuously muttering in the language that they speak to other workers and at the end told me it would be $5 because he fixed my nail, mind you i had gone through an entire interrogation, i didnt get any color put on my nail, and while using the e-file he 'accidentally' ran over the skin on my actual finger. I tried to pay regardless of what i thought so i pulled out my card and then got yelled at for not paying with cash. they ended up not making me pay and told me to make sure i pay next time but i definitely wont be there "next time" read more

Just received a manicure from here, will likely never go again. I asked the receptionists prior to my manicure which manicure option had the longest massage (one of the main reasons I was getting one). They told me the spa manicure, at 24 dollars. Since it was only 6 more then the next level manicure I agreed to it. Let me tell you- those 6 dollars bought me nothing. My manicure was less than average at best. While the manicurist was nice and friendly, he did not massage me for more than two minutes max. In addition, the "scrub" portion of the manicure was merely 15 seconds each arm, not exaggerating- basically had the scrub smeared on my arms, then told to wash it off as soon as it was on?!? Hot towel- the manicurist told me it hurts his hands to use the hot towel so he instructed me how to massage MY OWN arms with the towel... again, the paint job and clean up of the nails was fine, nothing special. But when I finished my manicure and told the receptionist that I had not received the 10 minute massage I was told I would get, her response was "I will talk with him". I am mostly disappointed because at that point she should have offered to charge me the lower manicure price because that is the service I received... read more

To start off, this business has its detailed oriented nail techs and the get it done get customers in and out type nail techs, and it has busy days with very little nail techs available and slower days with a good amount of nail techs. So I understand that there are gonna be days that people will have to work at a faster pace than usual. But you can CLEARLY tell which one is the repaired nail. It is the work of two different nail technicians there. The full set was originally done by the one lady that has long brown hair ( I don't know her name so I'll identify her by her looks) and she usually wears nail polish and a white jacket. She was very polite off the bat. She asked me how I was and made sure I was satisfied with the work on my nails. I was really satisfied with her work on how she made sure the tips fit my nail correctly and how she made the form and shape of the nails even and consistent. She also was really good with the gel polish and didn't glop it on. The ring finger on my right hand which is the first photo; the nail ended up breaking a few days later on the artificial nail. So I went in on January 25th, 2021 to get that ring finger on the right hand repaired and when I went in this guy that usually always works in the table closest to the wall, he worked on my nail. There was a girl soaking her nails off so he was separating the task of repairing my nail and doing that. I noticed that he didn't file the original artificial nail off enough to give stability to a new tip and he didn't make sure the tip fit right, he made the nail crooked and the form was off, and the gel polish was kind of glopped on on one side. I understand he was the only one there but he did not pay attention to his work this time which is okay because the nail repair was free at least but I'm the one who has to wear it so here's what I think: I would make sure you request the girl with the long hair and white jacket over the guy in the corner. The first time I went to this salon was alright. They couldn't take me until a half hour after my appointment was scheduled, but I liked how my nails turned out so I went back. The second time was a disaster. The woman doing my nails started with a drill to get my polish off. That didn't work so she soaked my nails in acetone. Then she whipped out the drill again and used that to wear my nails super thin. There were still a few small bits left of polish left, so she used an acrylic nail and literally started getting under the polish to PEEL THEM OFF. I could have saved the money and done that myself. By the time she was done, my nails looked super thin, cracked, and unhealthy from all of the drilling and picking. I thought that was the worst of it. After my gel polish was applied, she started aggressively filing my nails. She would finish filing them all, and then go back and start filing again. After the manicure was over, she put oil all over my hands, and used a thick scrub to exfoliate. The order in which she worked made absolutely no sense. While I was there, my nail tech also called out some woman who arrived late for her appointment, even though the salon was completely empty. She also commented on how the polish I had on before was too thick and didn't look nice (even though I had gotten it done at her salon)! I've never written a review for a salon or spa before, but I had such a negative experience (and was so surprised by the positive feedback on this page) that I had to let other people know. If I could give zero I would. I went in yesterday at 3:30 pm. There were no other customers. As I entered I was immediately rushed to pick my color. Then because I wanted a manicure as well, they did both at the same time. I did not get a deal for doing both at the same time. I gave a Halloween design of a cobweb on one nail. They look like marijuana leaves. As she started painting my nails, I asked "Do you guys not do hand or feed massages anymore?" She said, "You should have asked! I will at the end." The massage lasted for 2 minutes. Both for hands and feet. I timed it. The lady doing my manicure kept jamming my nail with the heater, then yelling at me that it was my fault. It was $68 and the worst experience. I never not tip because I have worked customer service, but did not tip. I used to love this salon, but will NEVER give them my business again. They also spoke in their own language the ENTIRE time, which is rude as I kept trying to make conversation and was being ignored. This was a terrible pedicure. I'm not sure if the man had bad eyesight or maybe he's the janitor and they were short staffed that day? Cut and filed my nails crookedly so some of them are visibly different lengths on each side of the same toe. The edges weren't filed smooth. I had him use Opi "infinite shine" in "Lady in Black" color(a black color that I've used before). He must've used a top coat that doesn't work with the infinite shine line or something. The top coat bubbled and turned the polish a lurid blue color. I could tell it was just the top coat because it only covers about 2/3's of each nail, which is another issue! So, my nails look like they have a black stripe all around the nail bed and cuticle and the rest is filled in with an awful blue. It's ridiculous!! read more

I come here because I like the location and atmosphere. I have also had mostly good quality of service and the customer service has been consistently good. However, I would advise to not have Jenny do your nails. She is an extremely sweet woman and is always very nice but I got a fill that didn't last even two weeks without the nails coming off. She is extremely rough with the nails, files excessively, and takes off too much skin around the nails as well. In addition, she takes far too long to do the nails, as I was there once for over 2.5 hours for a pedicure and fill. I came back and had a similar experience with her. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the other nail technicians, so I will be returning. read more

Booked an appointment for my first mani pedi at Luxury Nails today and I was very impressed. It is by far the nicest nail salon in the area. Clean, well-decorated, and peaceful. I loved everything about it--including, most importantly, my nails. The techs were detailed and thorough and I couldn't find a single mistake. ladies at the front desk seemed very annoyed i came in and then when i was getting my acrylics i was asked once how long i wanted my nails... i said "long but not overly long" thinking she would then ask if this was an okay length before cutting but she proceeded to actually cut them as close up as possible :( i was never offered to pick a color so they made me pick from the gel nail polishes not telling me it was 17 dollars extra.... not a good place for acrylics !! spent $52 to have them fall off a week at best later read more
