My nails right after finishing!

We arrived early and they sat us down and got our manicures going! Excellent and my nails haven't had any trouble! Still look great!

They're able to do any design I've come in with so far! The staff is really nice and competent, the price is really good too. I got gel for $45 and a deign for $10.

Mike and the entire staff are very friendly and welcoming! I've been coming here for a few months now and always love my experience. Yesterday I got fancy nails, toes and face wax for my wedding day this weekend. I'm very appreciative for all the attention to detail.

I went and got my nails done to celebrate being done with finals and couldn't be more happy with the results! Everyone here was very kind and professional and the environment was very clean. Kim prepped my nails and did the base coat and Dalenna did the nail art. I had wonderful conversations with both of them and highly recommend coming here for reasonable rates and amazing service :) I will definitely be coming back

I asked for Almond Chrome French tip and showed them a picture that had think tips and a skinny almond shape.

I would give the pedicures a 10/10. They really did a great job with my feet, however, my nails were not a hit. I showed them a picture and they said they would do them. I got excited since this was my first time getting my nails done in a while since I started doing my nails at home with poly gel and gel x. I was looking at the process of the man doing my nails, commenting on the shape and making sure everything was how I like it. I kept telling the man doing my nails like, this is crooked, this is not right. He told me my finger was crooked (it's not). And then he started doing my nails and I told him it doesn't look right but he continued to do them. I felt bad because I know how hard nail techs work and how much effort they put into it but my nails look 2 weeks old and this is only hours after my appointment. I have uneven shapes, my polish is very crooked, and I do not like them. I want to go to another nail shop to have them fix it. I'd go here for pedicures 100%, but if you want designs and intricate nails, go somewhere else.

Highly recommend this place. Every single technician is an ultimate professional. I've never had a better experience at any nail salon.

Had a very good simple $12 manicure and later a $25 pedicure. Clean, fast and they did and excellent job.

Went to a nail shop on Green St., and they told me an hour for a regular mani pedi. Really, no…read morethank you! So I was in search of another shop and stumbled on Anna's, boy. I am glad I did. It's a small shop tucked away on Neil st, if you are not looking for it, you are bound to miss it. I walked in and was seated right away! The technician took his time on my pedicure, which I appreciate. Unlike other ships that try to upsale you all the time, many cool amenities come with their spa pedicure, such as hot stones and hot towels! That would be like another $15 charge at any other shop. Over the service was great. You get a bang for your buck.

I visited this nail shop for the second time ever yesterday. My daughter lives in Champaign and the…read morelast time we came was in February of this year to get pedicures for her birthday. We both thought they did a great job and our pedicures lasted a long time. Unfortunately when I came by myself yesterday, I had a very different experience. I called ahead to reserve an appointment at 4pm just to be safe. The gentleman who worked there answered my call and just agreed to my appointment time and was about to hang up, I said don't you want my name? He said what's your name? I told him, and he said ok see you at 4. When I arrived at the nail shop the man who answered the phone was at the first nail desk closest to the door working on a customer. There were two other women nail techs working on customers who just looked at me as I walked in. No greeting. The man didn't look up and said "can I help you?" I responded saying I have a 4pm pedicure appointment. He said "ok pick your color" never looking at me once. I picked my color and took a seat. I did not wait long before one of the ladies came to get me. I do not have much to comment on related to her pedicure on my feet. She didn't ask me if I wanted my toenails cut which usually is common practice, but other than that, the pedicure was pretty standard. She made some errors with paint on my skin but cleaned it up and the finished product is fine. She made no conversation whatsoever, though I cannot confirm or deny whether or not that was due to her limited English because I only heard her speak another language. The disturbing part of this visit was the conversation between a white woman and one of the nail techs right next to me. That nail tech was definitely trying to keep up conversation with the white woman and at at one point the white woman mentioned that she didn't realize she had this coming Thursday off. (Due to Juneteenth) The nail tech, who is an Asian woman, asked what's the holiday, the white woman fumbled for an answer and ultimately googled to find out what the holiday was and what it represented. The Asian woman asked "are you getting paid for the holiday?" The white woman said yes. And the nail tech responded "well as long as you're getting paid who cares that's great enjoy yourself!" As a Black woman who is literally sitting in the chair right next to them as they had this conversation- and NO ONE had the self awareness to recognize how deeply offensive that exchange was!! #1 for both of these women, one of whom is of a marginalized identity, to be oblivious to WHAT Juneteenth is, is disgraceful. #2 after they both "learned" that the holiday was about the eradication of the enslavement of Black people, and then to say "who cares as long as you're getting paid" is the most disrespectful and disgusting thing a fellow woman of color could possibly say. And to say it in front of a Black woman. Her deep need for white acceptance made her oblivious to how terribly ignorant she looks. I hope she reads this review and I hope she understands she has betrayed herself and her sister in this world. I do not recommend this business to anyone, but especially not for any people of color as they clearly have no respect or desire for our patronage. There are plenty of other options and I hope this business reaps the karma it is sowing.

Went today to receive a shellac (gel) manicure. First off, upon seeing the other reviews , I can…read moreguarantee that Sara definitely was not the one who did my nails. (She seems to be the one who received favorable reviews before) Unfortunately, all I know about this employee is that she is Asian and has worked 2 previous places in the CU area and says she prefers her current location. Anyway, my manicure started off ok. When it was time for the color, she went to another client of hers and had another girl take over. I know that employees often switch off so they can help other clients., I guess it would have been kind of nice, however, if she would have allowed the same girl to finish up my color instead of after 1 coat later jumping in to finish it off!She just should have stayed with her other client instead. The lady who was applying my color to my nails was careful and methodical in the application. I like that because it shows me that she cares about the way my nails turn out and to me, that is how a true professional should be! When the original lady jumped in and (I think) rudely told the other girl to attend to someone else, (1 coat later), she very quickly finished my color up! After my nails were colored, the lady went to attend to yet another client! She instructed me to dry my nails 3x each under the heater. After doing this my nails still felt sticky on the edges and I was hesitant to touch the rest of them for fear I would make a dent. So I continued to place them under the heater a few more times. Upon noticing this, she came over to see what was going on, I told her and she just politely giggled and said it was fine , she just needed to rub some alcohol on the tips and they won't be sticky anymore. ( which they weren't but still...) If the Asian (Vietnamese)? lady ( sorry didn't get any names) had only let the younger African American lady finish up my color , I would not have had this problem with the stickiness underneath my nails... as she was carful applying the color and was sure to smooth off the ends! ( she really should have finished up the rest of the manicure or else I wouldn't be writing this review)! On a previous manicure trip to an Arcola salon w a friend, same manicure, the lady there lotioned my hands AND halfway up my arms in addition to doing my cuticles before even starting the main part of the manicure!! Pretty Nails in Urbana does the same. When I asked here if they applied lotion, she said it would be extra bc they were 'professional'. Is it also considered 'professional' to not trim the cuticles?' Hmmm whatever.... the lady who did my nails said she had 12 years experience. It doesn't seem this way in my opinion and I do not believe it was worth the 90$ for my daughter and I to receive the same manicure at this place! Even if my daughter was fortunate enough to have the same person do her nails. After seeing these pics and taking a closer look, this prompted me to write this review. I may consider adding another star OR two if I get a refund for my manicure! We will see what happens...

It is walk-in only…read more I decided last minute to get a pedicure and my usual salon (salon Xpression) was completely booked so I took a chance and tried La Chic based on positive reviews. My first impression was that the salon looked cluttered and while it didn't look dirty per se it was clearly rundown. The person who greeted me was not wearing a mask despite letting me into the locked salon. In fact, she didn't put the mask on for several minutes despite being within 6 feet of me. I decided to treat myself to an upgraded pedicure that came with a mask and hot stone massage for $55 dollars. My normal salon charges $45 and includes all of the above plus a hot towel wrap and additional 10 minute leg/foot massage and usually takes roughly an hour to complete. My service at La chic was complete in just under 40 minutes. The hot stone massage was seriously disappointing (and the only "massage" lasted just 3-4 minutes), the tools did not appear to be sterilized, and my polish looked like something I could have done at home. This was my first professional pedicure in over a year and quite frankly it felt like a waste of money. I will not be returning.
