Had a many pedi. The gentleman that did my gel nails was nice but didn't really do a true manicure. He pulled out the drill and went around my cuticles- that's cutting corners and I could have done that myself. The pedi was very quick with just the same basic service not very thorough and she used the foot shaving tool without asking first. I asked to stop using it immediately as I didn't needed it in the first place. Also did two light coats which I've never had before. It's fine in a pinch but don't expect quality work. Also it's just not relaxing with the fluorescent lighting and everyone is facing each other like a factory for mani pedis. The front desk isn't exactly welcoming either. read more

Two encounters with the most surly, unpleasant,receptionist ever and then substandard service on top of it? I came in for a manicure, and instead got some kind of gel garbage that was poorly applied damaged my nails, and no attention to my nails whatsoever - you know, cuticles, etc. The pedicure was equally poor. The only thing rich was the price tag at the end. I will never be back. And you should avoid this place too. You've been warned. I know lots of people who complain about that unpleasant, unfriendly unhelpful receptionist and who because of her, have changed salons. I've been to this establishment twice, I'm from out of town. The first time my husband and I came and got pedicures. He had the sports pedi (where they use bio freeze) and I had the Delux pedi. My husband really liked his pedicure. So when I came back into town for my mother's birthday, I booked an appointment for my mother, father, and myself. My mother enjoyed her signature pedicure. This was the second time she has ever had gel polish in her life. My dad enjoyed his sports pedicure. He was amazed because this was his third visit there within the past year, and it was the first time he shown that the chairs also give a message. Nemo was my technician for my pedicure. He was very gentle, light to the touch, and paid attention to detail while removing and applying my gel polish (The same polish that I gotten there before Christmas!) My mother and I both had a different technician for our nails. My mother had gel polish and I had dip powder. I was expecting the entire mani experience (the same experience in different states for years)... a hand massage upon completion and to clean up and file nails after the gel polish was completed as well as oil on my cuticles. When she finished applying the polish I was sitting there... she tells me that she's done... while being confused I asked... don't you put the lotion on and do a hand message? Her response to me was as per management we aren't allowed to do a hand message with dip powder. Then she pointed to a lotion bottle and said lotion is right there. I mentioned that this doesn't make since for them to charge more for dip powder, and not provide the entire experience because I got dip powder. Then she asked me if I wanted oil and then put the oil on my cuticles. I spent most of yesterday after leaving the establishment picking off polish or dip powder (not sure which) on my hands that were on my skin on the sides and behind my nails. Unfortunately, that put a damper on my experience. Meanwhile my mother wanted her hands all the same color. Her technician asked her if she wanted a design. I heard my mother tell her no. She did it anyway. I heard my mother tell her she didn't like it, the technician insisted on doing a line design. My mom told her she didn't like it. She just wanted the polish. She insisted and put a similar design as the first one my mom said she didn't want. My mother gets up and shows me. She tells me she doesn't like it, and she just wanted the polish. My mom tried to tell her she didn't want the design, and felt pressured to get it. Not only did she get a design, but it was an extra $7 that definitely wasn't worth it. I was also upset that I couldn't receive an itemized bill especially when being told my total for all three was $262. (With the addition of eyebrow waxing) My mother was satisfied with the way her eyebrows were done. read more

I've come here once prior for a pedicure and have been recommended this salon for manicures by close friends. My initial visit for a pedicure was great, but the second visit for a mani/pedi didn't go as well. The pedicure was fine, not much attention to detail with cuticle work but that's somewhat typical for a pedicure in my experience. My nails are where I feel frustrated. The appointment was for 4 on Friday and the pictures were taken on Sunday morning, less than 48 hours later. The polish is chipping, the clear coat was not done evenly, and the polish doesn't reach to my cuticles on majority of the nails. I would like to note that the polish is regular polish (not gel or dip) however I have been painting my own nails and getting manicures with this polish for years and it never looks like this after only 1 day of wear. I also received terrible cuticle work, which I specifically said was my biggest concern. When I pointed out to the nail tech that I would like more attention to the cuticle area he picked at only one finger until I was bleeding. I will not be coming back here for a manicure and the pedicure service was just ok. read more

Love that I can book online. Showed up a few minutes early and was quickly checked in while I washed my hands. The technician was very nice and helped my pick the color I was looking for (Big Apple Red... Christmas without being TOO Christmas). Got a dip. I had signed up for a manicure since I don't baby my hands, but she said she didn't think I needed one. I appreciate her honesty and her taking the time to explain that manicures fix hangnails, overgrown cuticles, and other problems. She shaped a nail and confirmed it was the length and shape I wanted, then got to business. She was very efficient and we were done in 45 minutes. She was careful to remove any color from the skin. The salon is huge and everyone was masked. Salon seemed very clean. I wasn't given an individual container for dipping into the powder and I know that bothers some people. It doesn't worry me, but thought I'd mention it in case it matters to you, Dear Reader. This wasn't a super pamper job, but that wasn't what I wanted! She asked for a mani or pedi visit as a Christmas present. So, I found Modern Nails online and called to try and purchase a gift card or just use my credit card to buy her a service. The lady answering the phone said they "don't sell gift cards over the phone " and wouldn't let me pay for services prior to my daughter's visit. She didn't sound like she cared AT ALL, no "I'm sorry, but we don't..." and offered no alternative solution. I was prepared to make a generous purchase and include tips as appropriate. I'll be looking for a friendlier, more accommodating salon other than this one. read more

I have been going to Lin for gel shellac for several years. Until recently, she did my manicure well, for which I always gave her a 20% tip. However, Lin gave me shorter and shorter gel shellac treatments. And instead of the allotted hour for a gel manicure, she began doing it in 25 minutes. The last gel shellac she did started peeling off on the 6th day after the manicure. 07/02/24, when I went to Lin for a manicure and showed her this message in Vietnamese: "The last manicure was very different from the previous ones. I noticed it right away. The edges of the nails started peeling on the 6th day. I had to trim a lot of the chipped nails. This has never happened before." I showed this message to the receptionist as well. As you can see, there were no insults in the message. Then I politely asked her to do the gel manicure in the allotted time. Lin jumped up, muttered something about her clients and me, then hissed angrily and went into the back room. Incredible rudeness towards a client. I'm 63 years old, never had any problems in this salon. And here I am, receiving such rudeness from an impudent hysteric. How is this possible? And then I saw that another client was already waiting for her. So she was going to do my shellac again in 20-25 minutes, squeezing me in between other clients. And when I asked her to do my manicure during the allotted time for a gel manicure, she realized that this time it wouldn't work and put on this performance of an offended hysteric. This is outrageous behavior. This kind of behavior is unacceptable anywhere, anytime. read more

This place is always great at getting me and my girls in to get our nails done even if it is busy. I like knowing we can walk in and get our nails done without having to plan ahead. AWFUL. The worst manicure I've ever gotten. I just got a classic manicure which was cheap at $17 but it was the biggest rush job with the final product having bubbles and fuzz/dust stuck in it. Additionally, I asked for matte and literally 3/10 nails turned out matte with the rest being glossy and on 1 of the nails she put on the top coat so sloppily that part of the nail was glossy and part of it was matte. At one point the woman doing it smudged the polish on the back at her hand as she went to the next nail and when I pointed it out she tsked in annoyance and told me to be careful. Be that as it may, 2 starts since the shape is okay and if I look from far away that look good enough. Honestly wouldn't have minded spending a bit more money if it meant it was going to get a better end product, cause I don't get my nails done often and wanted it to actually look good but alas. It was an okay experience. Made an appointment, went in the staff was very dismissive. I get that they were busy, but I made a confirmed appointment and was there to spend good money. I made the appointment for gels on my natural nails "with manicure" option(it cost like $10 more than normal gels).The guy who did my nails seemed kinda confused, to be fair I showed him the pic, and he tried his best. I was very shocked at the price.It was $49 plus tip. I would have been fine with it if it was cheaper. I like the nails, but I know for a fact that this is not worth $49. I would have been happy to pay $30-35. When I gave the gentleman his tip he just kinda walked away. When I went up to pay, the guy and the front clerk were discussing the price in their native language, right in front of me. I'm perfectly fine with it, it was just really shady when they both got confused looks on their faces and decided the price. Always do great work. Prices are just too high. I got an acrylic fill in with gel polish and it costed me $50!!! My nails are medium length, no chip gel polish, and that's it! No designs, no special polish, no pedicure, none of that. Like I said, great work, very conversational, but I think paying more than $35 for a basic fill with gel polish is unreasonable, let alone $15 extra! I'll try to post a pic. My nails will be the stiletto points with gold glitter polish. $50!!! I only go there for emergencies, to be honest. But please understand, it's great work just too pricey! read more

Dishonest. I paid upfront for what was supposed to be the full cost of my daughter's mani-pedi. She did not have her wallet with her because it was prepaid, right? She asked the manicurist if there would be an extra charge for painting alittle flower on one nail. No gems or anything, just a simple design. The tech said "no", "no extra charge." When I came back to pick her up, the receptionist was screaming at my daughter that she owed an extra $7. My daughter couldn't pay because she didn't have her wallet. Sorry upfront for the long post, but I was extremely insulted today and wanted to share. I always try to post positive reviews when I can and I don't think I have ever posted a negative one. Today was my first time visiting this nail salon. There were 3 of us and we made a reservation a day ahead to make sure we could get in together. This was my idea as a gift to my best friend for her birthday and my daughter in law for her upcoming baby shower in two weeks! My First impression - not good. Make sure you read part #1 and part #2 which was the reason I wrote this review. Part #1: The receptionist! Why would the owners want a rude person representing their business? I could say she was being efficient and just doing her job....but I almost walked out when I first got there. "Give me your name and info, wash your hands, pick out your color over there, go sit in seat 2". No eye contact, very robotic- felt like we were being herded like cattle! On a positive note, I believe we were all happy with our pedicures/manicures....so I'm sorry to say the bad out weighed the good today. Part #2 - the check out! Let me point out that I haven't had a pedicure in over two years. This was a real treat for all of us and I was happy to pay for us all. The receptionist scanned my card, gave me the receipt to fill out - typical breakdown with total on line one, my tip on line two and the TOTAL on line three. As I'm walking out the door with my group, she stops me and says "Kim, is this correct?" When I walked back and approached she pointed at my tip on line 2 and wanted to know if that was the correct amount for all 3 nail techs. I said, yes it is "I'm not rich sorry"...and it's why the total on line 3 includes it. She totally Tip shamed me and when I told her I thought it wasn't a very nice question to ask someone, she loudly replied that she was just making sure. My tip was not huge but it was fair for a bill over $120! Needless to say, these 3 gals will never be back. read more

Came for dip. While the nails don't look bad, the service was extremely rushed. Not even 30 mins and I was already drying. Why do your techs rush so much? Isn't dip generally supposed to take a bit more time? However the bigger issue is that they dipped my nails directly into the dip container and not into a separate jar. This is how infections are spread. You're supposed to separate some powder into another jar. I don't understand why she did this because the other male technician next to her was dipping the client's nails into a separate jar. Won't be back. read more

I got the deluxe pedicure and Nemo rushed through the callous removal, he rushed through the foot exfoliating, it's like they don't even look, they scrub till they deem it's enough !
