In November 2025, I sought bids to have hard wood floors put in a bedroom I am converting into a pantry and to have my existing kitchen and entryway refinished so that everything would match and I would have ample time for the floors to cure before the pantry installation. Knots Flooring was one of the companies that came to bid the work but I ended up using another company and it was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my life. After two other companies came out and totally botched three refinishing jobs, I had to swallow my pride and reach back out to Knots Flooring for help. Athena was so lovely and gracious when I reached out to her to apologize for not using them and when I admitted that I really messed up but I needed their help desperately. Regardless of my poor decision making, they didn't hesitate for one second to come to my rescue. My pantry installation was scheduled to start on February 10th and despite the short notice, Knots flooring put me on their schedule immediately so I could keep the timeline for my project while allowing ample time for the job to be done well and for the floors to cure. Not only were Athena and Danny amazing and reassuring, I can't say enough about what a phenomenal job Renato and Julio (Cesar) did with my floors and the care and respect they exhibited for my house by taping everything off, removing my baseboards that were messed up by the other companies, securing my house, the incredible clean-up afterward, and all the little things they did to make my floors look beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for. I want to start by just explaining this isn't a carpet company that installs large areas of carpet…read more They primarily focus on repairs and look to you to have the carpet on hand or they can also cut out carpet from another part of the house to use. For us, we wanted to change out the first few steps on our staircase that gotten really from our kids and also the wear from stepping on them a lot. They were a little bit too roughed up to get deep cleaned and seemed to need you be replaced altogether. Nip and Tuck can do this for $50 per step (we did 5 steps for $250 total) but you need to provide the carpet. I went to Home Depot to pick up carpet samples and ultimately made my best guess. We over compensated on the amount before and spent about $90 on carpet. They were able to schedule us quickly and got the job done. But it was a bit of a pain going back and forth with the scheduler to understand their service. Initially she had suggested to cut out a corner of one of our closets.

He also installed new MDF for the stair risers (not painted yet in photo since they don't handle painting). Floor has no creaks in the rooms/hallway and looks beautiful. Pricing was fair and the best I could find in the area, and they were good about removing the costs for anything I handled myself (I removed old carpet and LVP, etc.) even though there were a handful of staples I wasn't able to pull myself from the stair risers. Just one word of warning, make sure you measure your floor space yourself--their measurements for the work were off by about 50 square feet, which would have made a big difference in the number of boxes of material I had to purchase. I think this was probably accidental from them including the bathrooms but given that _every_ floorer I spoke to provided inaccurate estimates it's best to just do the measuring/math yourself.

For more than a year, we've wanted to replace the flooring on our first floor. We had dark hardwood…read morefloors and then carpet in the the living room area (that was destroyed by a foster puppy). Our vision was for a more open feel with consistent flooring throughout the entire floor (and lighter colored floors). Floors by Tomorrow to the rescue!! Initially, I used Yelp to start a new project, which is a great feature because you can just write up your project once and then send it to multiple contractors/businesses to get quotes. Of course in this case, they still need to come measure the space before they can provide a quote, but it's a convenient way to get things going! This whole process took half a year though... because, life. But we got a quote from one contractor via Yelp and then one through Lowe's. There were pros and cons to both (cost, amount of time/days it would take to finish, who would pick up the materials, etc.). I thought to revisit the Yelp contractors and reached back out to Floors by Tomorrow to get a quote. Right away, Dan got in touch with me and scheduled the initial consult to provide a quote. When he came, he was willing to work with our budget (and the two other quotes we had received). But what made him the best was that he literally scheduled for the project to complete the next day -- "Floors by Tomorrow" is right! We actually needed to schedule two days out because we needed a day to move all the furniture into the garage. Staff came right on time in the morning and finished by 6pm in the evening. They took off our baseboards and put them back on at the end, installed transitions, and even added plywood panels to the previously carpeted area (in order to keep the floor even). There was quite a bit of dust afterward (since they were cutting inside the house) but overall we could see they did their best to sweep and leave things as clean as they could. It really has transformed our house! And we will definitely reach back out when we are ready to replace the carpets on our second floor!
