I always rent from them when everybody ran out of cars. They have compact, medium, luxury and passenger vans available also. Their check out process is easy but be sure to send them your insurance before you go to them or it might take time to process. Cube is the way to go. They sell used cars as well so I thought that is a cool Idea to rent a car and if you like it you can make a deal to buy the car.

I rent cars almost every week across the…read morecountry and every time I rent now, I think of the horrible experience I had at this location in January...it has literally scarred me. Basically, 7-10 days after I turned the car in, I received a text saying that there was damage. A picture was attached of a small black blemish (less than an inch) and there was a bill for about $100. As I say, the location had been in possession of the car for over a week and had accrued additional miles on the vehicle (driving around, another rental, etc.). I had not caused any damage so I wanted to, of course, protest this charge. I could not get anybody to return any calls or e-mails. Within a few more weeks, I received a another correspondence out of the blue that randomly bumped up the damage payment to $700 with no explanation. Again, very difficult to get in touch with the correct people at Hertz to discuss or resolve - it was a nightmare and took hours and hours of my time. Eventually, the issue was resolved at Hertz Corporate but only after months of Hertz trying to have me pay the claim. The whole experience completely changed my view of Hertz and, in particular, of this particular location. The people at this Hertz location are on the lookout to screw you - please beware if renting here.

My flight was late so it was around 11:00 pm when I got there and there was one small Jeep Renegade left along with two pickups, so pickings were slim. Also, that late at night, they only had one exit booth open and there was a long line although it moved pretty quickly and I was out in under 10 minutes. The car was fine and I took the fuel option so didn't have to fill it up on the way back, although there is a Shell station just before you enter the airport if you want to fill it up yourself. The rental car center is fine but the buses fill up quickly so you may have to wait for a second bus if you can't get on right away. Houston would do well to install a train service from the terminals to the rental car center. Give yourself time for the bus but otherwise this rental car experience should be smooth sailing.

Normally, I am never in need of a local Rental Car, though about midway through October 2021... well, I found myself in need of one. Going online, I was dismayed at the lack of cars in the area - then I was quoted by Hertz $721 for a Honda Accord 4-Door through the weekend (and I had to keep it the WHOLE weekend). You read that right. Budget at IAH wanted $832 for a little Toyota Corolla for the whole weekend. Budget? That broke the bank. Not knowing what to do, I thought to myself "Is there a local solution?" and "Surely, the national chains cannot be on the only ones!" and wouldn't you know it - I found this gem that is Elite Rent A Car of Houston, Texas. I was able to turn the car in within 24 hours, they had inventory, and it was only about $184 all-in with tax, etc. for the rental. And add to this - the car was phenomenal. Clean, awesome, and a very nice late model large SUV. And I was allowed to bring it back in 24 hours. Talk about nice. I ran a lot of errands that needed running for my family, and in the end, Elite Rent A Car made it happen. From the initial phone call with Elaine to everyone involved (Juan, Miguel, and Team) the process was fast, friendly, and fun. I was in and out with speed and without worry. The office was nicely located over on Westheimer near the Beltway (meaning I did not have to drag my booty up to an airport - which was the only place Hertz, Budget, and Enterprise had cars at, increasing their rates substantially with Airport Fees) and conveniently located across from a very inexpensive gas station. In short, the entire team was a gem to work with at Elite Rent A Car, they called me when the car arrived earlier than expected and that was an added touch. Loved everything about the experience, and I encourage anyone needing a rental in Houston to pass up on the bloated, overpriced nonsense of the national chain houses and always count on Elite Rent A Car! I told them funds are there it is locked in your system. The person didn't believe me and suggested I call the bank which I did in front of him and the bank said they got no attempts on their side. I told them again the their Enterprise system locked the card on their side and the issue did not come from the bank. They kept insisting it was the bank and when I got upset they said they were not going to talk to me with my raised voice and to make sure I gave them the key because I was not allowed to leave with it - I could not have another day. My response was that I was not a thief. yes, I gave them the key back and now writing this review. In the middle of these events #2 below was going on as well at the location at the same time. 2) I called the 1-888 number and asked for a manager at 1-888 number. The person who answered was nice but didn't know how to help the situation as she tried to run the card thru snd it didn't go thru. I then asked for a manager. The manager typed in the info I gave her and sent it to the people I was talking to in front of me. Then she hung up on me.
