Picking a new nail salon is always scary. Today I tried out lux nail.. they are more expensive than other salons. However, if you don't mind spending more they are worth it. Kutie (I swear that's what she said her name was). But she did my nails and I love them and she was so sweet and kind. Acrylics anywhere else are 35 with coffin and dip.... I did gel and acrylic on my nails. I also did gel on my toes and a pedicure with 1 acrylic on my big toe. It was $90. So it's about $25 more than I'm use to spending. (That's not including my tip. I tipped $20 on top of the $90). But if I came out with beautiful nails spinning more I'm OK with that. read more

Then I waited another 20 minutes for my nail artist to actually tend to me after I was seated. She seemed rushed and cared little for detail. I'll never be going to this location after my experience today.... first and foremost let me start off by stating its very beautiful & clean which drew my attention in the first place, & my coworker referred me & saying vivica I believe... did an amazing job. I'm currently 7 months pregnant & work 9-5 on my feet so I usually get services done at least once a month. I did not have an apt so I was pretty happy I got seated right away. I went in wanting a french gel pedicure, eye brows, and a basic manicure & to remove my artificial nails. everything was going great all the way up to when the lady started cutting live skin around my cuticles... I kept informing her shes cutting me, & my toes were burning. the next red flag I noticed is when she sprayed my toes with alcohol (which is normal) but I noticed the silver stainless steel was labeled as *H20* instead of alchohol I began rubbing my toes into the towel so left on while she walked away getting the hot rocks & steamed towels. when she did the steamed hot towels she began rolling her eyes at me, and talking within her language irritated when I asked her to air out the towels for a little since the steam was to much since she made my cuticles bleed. she began making a big deal how If I cant handle the towel I wouldnt be able to handle the heat from the hot rocks & I continued to remind her if she continued with out putting them on my toes it should be fine.. which is honestly the reason why I left this review at a *2 star* because the stones really helped the tension in my feet. when she did my french gel manicure I noticed she also filed my nails after putting the gel and everything on so my toe nails were spreading which I also noticed she never filed them before cleaning my toes & never cleaned under the nails.... the next service she was more irritated when I reminded her after she was done that I only wanted my artificial nails taken off & just a basic manicure.... she kept telling me oh you changed your mind you wanted gel manicure before & now you dont (1st of all I'm pregnant & about to have my baby so I wanted a simple manicure coming into this place & never agreed on keeping my artificial nails) I graduated beauty school last year, & not even in beauty school did I ever witness or known any future professionals remove artificial nails w.out soaking them off first!! this lady caused more pain to me while she was popping them off with just an artificial nail.... she caused me so much pain 6 out of 10 of my nail beds are chunky & missing from the nail plate which later down the road will take about 3-6 months to heal if theres no infection. I kept thinking to myself if this lady was okay with putting artificial nails onto a raw nail bed & not seeing any problem.... shes more worried about making the next dollar that comes thru that door than giving me a safe service because if she would've put artificial nails on top knowling that my nail plate is raw & exposed that wouldve caused so much infection.... now I wonder how many services she continued to service after I left & the ones before me because that's NOT OKAY. my basic manicure just consisted of her popping the nails off, drilling the glue off, buffing washed my hands, and putting clear coat. she forgot to put cuticle oil or lotion & most places I know wouldve incorporated a lil massage.... nope. not this lady the next service which was my eyebrows & normally I wouldve just walked away at this point but the manager-owner Mitchell stated she was gonna fo them so I was relieved that someone else was servicing me that would actually know what their doing she was great, she was very reassuring if I was okay & I must be very tired (since it was written all over my face.... which I was tired..... tired of being there) my eyebrows came out super clean which is all i wanted, she offered me water & tea afterwards which I agreed to an arizona tea which was nice... she ranged me up for $67.00 for my painful service & I still tipped because I used to work for tips so I understand especially for being 2 days before chrismas eve & Christmas. the lady that serviced me was a bigger lady, with long hair in a pony tail . I never got her name & when I left they were super busy. I understand I could've asked the manager while she was doing my service but I was already physically & emotionally exhausted I just wanted to leave, take a nice hot shower (since my feet were super oily & slippery from the oily pedicure & I still had wax residue on my face *thankfully it was clear* so you couldnt see it & I figured the manager accidentally missed it since it was hard to see it) I was just done with that place.... read more

I came in for a fill. French tip. Polish was uneven, French was different on every finger and she cut me twic. I kept asking her to fix it and after the fourth time I gave up and had her take them all off. As I was leaving another lady came up to me said they could fix it. If I could give less stars, I would. Maybe it's because I went in towards the end of the day but this is hands down the worst manicure I've ever had. I'm going to have to pay to have someone redo the gel polish and hopefully fix how distorted the shapes of my nails are. Not only are my cuticles tore up but the tips of my fingers are cut? The (used) coarse file combined with the insanely aggressive file annihilated my nails and all of the surrounding areas. Worst 64 dollars spent in my life. My nails have never looked worse. I went in to get my nails short (previously having longer nails) and a fill and this is a joke. My nails are so thick it, she was so rough the entire time and cut up my cuticles, all my nails are shaped differently, not to mention she barely ever let my hand sit under the UV light so I can feel the layers of polish moving around under the top coat. I will NEVER come back here. She was rude and didn't care when I told her she kept hurting me/burning me. She would finish with my hand with fresh polish on and would throw it towards the UV light. She got polish all over the skin around the nail and my nails look like bubbles because of how thick and round they look. I hate myself for not having a backbone to confront her. Two and a half weeks later, my gel manicure still looks perfect! My manicurist was obviously managing the salon, and keeping track of everyone, at the same time, but it didn't detract from her expert job on my nails. I liked that she pushed back the cuticles at the base of my nail--because they were fine--and limited her trimming to the edges, which did need some help. When she first shaped them, the were too square for me, so I told her, and she filed them to the shape I preferred. She was a perfectionist about applying multiple layers of polish, with not a single mar or bit of polish on my skin. I would definitely go back! (The main negative part of my experience was that when I first went into the salon, the fumes were very strong, despite the door being open, so if you're sensitive to fumes or have pulmonary issues, I wouldn't recommend it, unless they improve their venting.) read more

I got gel polish and in a week my nails look like this!!! The day I got them I got an off white color and now they are this gross yellow-brown color. This has never happened to me before and I have been getting gel nails for years. They are chipping and are just gross to look at. I don't think I will ever go back to this place. ALSO! I love this nail salon, they're clean and I appreciate the effort they put in. I've been a few times trying out different people. Tracy has left me pleased! She did the fill and design on my current set. A couple of my nails were crooked and she managed to file where they look straight and the shape is beautiful! While working on my nails, she made sure I was happy with the shape and design before moving on. She also did my pedicure and I did amazing! I had previously had a pedicure and the person rounded out my nails. Tracy was able to square them again and even removed an ingrown everyone else had avoided. When the service was done, I had Zelled over $25 tip, then found out Tracy's tip would be added to my payment. So when I called the salon to advise, they quickly reimbursed my money from Zelle. I recently moved back to Arizona and found Luxe Nails was close to the shopping area where my mom and I had to run errands. We came on a Friday morning and it was already busy. I figured it would be good since they had people coming in but I was wrong. My pedicure was suppose to be a "spa pedicure" and the man did not even clean them thoroughly as indicated in their price sheet. My dip manicure was OK but he was hurting me with the file and when I voiced my discomfort he simply said "Oh ok" and didn't stop. My mom's pedicure was better than mine but her manicure was rushed and turned out terrible. Not worth what we paid. Not the absolute worst but we will not be coming back. I have been to this salon 4 times and only ONCE did I leave there satisfied. The other times I the service I was asking for I was told no . NO! The time before today I needed a fill on the acrylic on my big toe, the lady said no I didn't it , mind you it had been a month since my last fill. Of course one of he nails popped off a week after my $65 pedicure. I go back today and asked for the acrylic on the other foot be removed, one to match my other foot and two bc it was bothering me. Again told no, it was too much trouble, it would take too long. Worse service ever! Do not recommend! I just paid $128 for two of the worse pedicures I've ever had! This is definitely the worse place in Tucson. The employees were in a hurry to close, my pedicure tech argued with me after I asked her to make my black French tip thin and clean please. She kept making these thick lines that looked Ugly and dirty. She was very upset because she had to redo the first nail and after that she kept doing my pedicure in a bad mood and saying who knows what to the rest of the employees. But you could tell by her body language that she was mad at me for requesting a thin clean French tip. Plus she kept hurting me and then had the audacity to ask for a Tip SMH! I went in for a simple dip manicure and it took over 90 minutes to complete. Mind you, I was seated right away. That wasn't even the worst part. The employee who worked on me had severely dry cracked skin and had scabs hanging off her knuckles. Her own nails were dirty and yellow. The technician repeatedly cut the skin around my nails while using the drills. To top it all off, I was lectured on not waiting long enough between manicures even though I was going on 3 weeks. LITERALLY just finished getting a gel pedicure at this salon and am so happy with the service! Kim was my pedicurist, and she did a lovely job. She was very gentle with my legs and feet, and exfoliated/pumiced them very well. So happy to have found such a professional, clean salon on this side of town! Parking is ample, prices aren't crazy, and those working use gloves and clean regularly, which I appreciate. Would come again! read more

I found this place on yelp and since I wanted a design it seemed like a good pick. Although the mails themselves came out okay I feel like the man doing them was rushing a bit bc he ended up cutting my cuticles on 3 fingers, it didn't hurt but it bleed a little. He also made my thumbs really long compared to what I've gotten done before but it doesn't effect it much. He also touched my left ring fingernail and didn't smooth it out after so I hav a bump. There's also a little nail dust on my nails which I suppose is due to the area not being clean when he started and the nail dust was everywhere. I also hoped he would've gone over the red again because you can see through it to the black but I didn't say something so I can't be upset at that. I paid $55. First experience. Overall it was nice. Very clean and I love that they use pedicure bowl covers. Had an appt. which I definitely recommend, but they were still very busy and I still waited a while before I got in. It felt a bit rushed. However, it was a Saturday so I'll probably plan on another day to go for an appt. my tech was nice and they were all very kind. I did get nipped and there was a bit of blood. (Not sure what happened there) again, I think that came down to the Saturday rush. I will say they were really good about sanitation and that's important to me. I usually get my nails and toes done twice a month. This place is nice my technician did a good job. However the prices are ridiculous! They charged way too much. I doubt I'll be back.
