Luxe salon and spa is a very beautiful place with so many friendly stylists who want to get everything right for you and do a careful and great job! I got my hair and makeup for homecoming this yeah here and I'm usually not pleased with my services at other salons but the people here nailed what I wanted!! Scheduling is very simple since they have so many stylists it's easy to get in even with a limited time period! I highly suggest trying this because I did and it's definitely worth it! Definitely a mixed experience during our spa visit. Was difficult to make appointments for pedicures, even in advance, as there was only one nail aesthetician for the day on a Saturday. Bummer! We had various massages and facials. My massage was good and fairly standard. Facial was like other reviews... just an hour of having my face rubbed with multiple hot/cold towels and different products. I was disappointed as when I booked they said they would evaluate my skin and do extractions. No examination under light or steam to open pores... per my aesthetician, my skin feels great. Like a few other customers on here, I had been hesitant to leave a review but felt it'd be beneficial for other customers to know.. I've been have been getting highlights for almost 10 years now, and this is the worst outcome I've had. I'd asked for full head warm blonde beachy highlights with some subtle money pieces in the front. I've had this done before and know that it's possible to have it done properly. However, after Luxe, I now have ashy hair with yellowy blonde streaks in the front (looking a bit trashy). When I first left, I noticed the yellow pieces in the front. I also noticed that when I put it in a ponytail I had a skunk stripe down the middle. A week later, I went back and asked if they could fix it. They did free of charge, but I now just have two larger chunks of yellowy blonde in the front. It's better than it was, but still isn't looking very tasteful. I can't attest to their haircuts and other services, but I would not return for color. read more

I had a $100 charge to hold an appointment. I was told that as long as I gave 3 days notice to cancel that I would get the money back. I gave 2 weeks notice, and I did end up getting the money back, but I had to remind them several times and they ended up claiming they didn't see the charge. It was 3 weeks after that before I got the money back. This might just be an isolated incident and these things happen, but I was a little disappointed because it seemed like an upscale kind of place that I should have been able to trust without having to go through something like this. I also say this because I ended up getting the service done for 3 times less money somewhere else. read more

You won't believe the experience I just had at Luxe Lancaster. I made an appointment for myself and my husband (both appointment times were at 7:00 this evening) for services. My husband got a facial and I was supposed to get a hair cut. I made the appointment at around 5:00 this evening. My husband was taken back for his facial around 7:00. His service was lackluster (putting it nicely), but that isn't the worst of it. (He didn't get any extractions at all and he basically said the girl lightly rubbed his face with several lotions - that was it.) I was told about 20 minutes prior to my appointment time that my stylist was running 45 minutes late and was asked if I would like to reschedule. I said it's fine, I don't mind waiting. I've been needing a haircut for a while now, and since we are leaving on vacation tomorrow, I didn't mind waiting to get it done so that I could look good for vacation. Fast forward to 8:30... 1 1/2 hours past my original appointment time. No update. Finally the receptionist comes over to me and says, "I'm sorry, but we cannot cut your hair tonight. The stylist has run out of time because the person before you added a bunch of services." I waited 1 1/2 hours of my night for NOTHING. I told them to give my husband 20% off of his service as a comp, otherwise they wouldn't have offered me anything but a reschedule with a percentage off my next cut (as if I would remotely consider returning). The facial was definitely not worth the $120 we paid. The receptionist had to call her manager for permission, but did end up giving us the discount on his service. However, it doesn't make up for having to wait all that time just to be told that they don't have time to do my hair. My regular stylist is out on medical leave, and after telling her my story, she so kindly offered to cut my hair at her home. I won't reveal her name because she's doing it as a favor and cannot cut all of her clients' hair right now, but as soon as she is back in commission, I will be shouting her name from the rooftops for everyone to go see her. She's an incredible person and an even better stylist - my hair always looks amazing and she's always honest about what is best or not best for my hair regarding color, style, etc. She's the greatest. I've been to MANY salons in the area and no one even comes close to her level of skill, attention to detail, and positive, service-oriented attitude. I have been going back and forth on writing this review, I normally don't like leaving bad reviews But I think somebody needs to hear this. I booked Bridal services with Luxe, since the beginning the communication with Luxe is horrible. This has been a continuous issue through my contract time with Luxe. I would message them and they would instantly reply, but then take a few days to respond. But when I first wanted to find out more about the contract information I guess the Bridal coordinator had a personal emergency and I did not hear back for over a week, finally called Luxe and the manager told me the situation- well why wasn't someone managing the inquirys? If you know your coordinator is going out for a period of time why wasn't someone managing the communication with potentional clients. I gave them a chance because I actually like the services ( I get my hair cut here). I scheduled my bridal hair and make up services. I was not impressed with my hair, she did a semi good job, but she did nothing to control my "flyaways" and my hair looked like a rats nest and she used hairspray to hold them down which made it even worse. To me I would never pay $288.00 to look like that. My make up trial is the one that really pushed me to cancel my bridal service contract. The make up artist was nice, but she was not flexible to what I wanted. I wanted red lip stick (which she clearly had) and she told me that I can go to the store and try on different lip stick colors, but for today she is using a nude blush. Then she told me she did not have an eye lash curler so when she put on my fake eyelashes they look severely uneven because my real eyelash wasn't curled. And at that she didn't even glue them on right, they were half falling off by the time I got home. She didn't blend my foundation at all, so my face was a completely different color than my neck and rest of the body. The foundation was completely cakey, and I told her I did not like it. And she told me that I can go to the make up store and pick out a foundation that I wanted. If I wanted to go to the store and get my own makeup why am I paying you guys $160.00 to do my makeup?...I emailed the coordinator (and she quickly replied this time) that I wanted to cancel my contract due to not being happy with my services, and they did not even try to figure out what happened, or maybe make it right. We've had makeup done here, nails, eyebrows and many other services NOW they want a credit card over the phone to hold your appointment. I find this policy cheapens the salon. Decided to change it up a little and thought "you get what you pay for" so I decided to schedule with Luxe. I've never regretted my decision more. After 2 months, many appointment and about $800.00 later I'm still not happy. I got charged for the 5th appointment that was supposed to fix the 4th appointment and charged even more for the 6th appointment that was supposed to fix the 5th appointment problem. I had blatant lines where the lightener met the dark portion of my hair. That was my complaint. I finally just went in and asked to color my hair one color but leave a little light on the ends LIKE I ORIGINALLY WANTED... after it was done they wanted to charge me.. AGAIN! The receptionist had told me when making the appointment that I would not have a charge. I left so aggravated. But then to get home, dry it myself and style it myself because that does not come with service here.... I noticed a blond patch in the back.. that had spots of brown. At this point I am completely over it. I liked the stylist and enjoyed our conversations until she had the nerve to say having a baby could be the reason why my hair is the way it is or why its thin. The baby didn't put the lines in my hair, and the baby didn't miss coloring parts of my hair. never once did I complain about my hair being thin. I have a thyroid condition. I know my hair is thin but to bring up me having a baby in MAY has nothing to do with what you just did in August. You literally get charged for everything. I'm surprised actually that they don't charge per spritz of hairspray, I don't recommend Luxe if you want to do any drastic changes. I was at Luxe twice over the weekend of November 5th-6th; once for a mani/pedi, and once for an updo. My sister was the bride so she asked the bridal party and the mothers what services they would like; she made all the arrangements and confirmations with Luxe, and she knew most of the staff by name by the end of the weekend. She did mention that their scheduling was not up to par. They made several mistakes in reservations throughout the weekend. However they did go out of their way to make this up to us! For example; my mother should have been scheduled for a cut, color, and mani Friday night, but she was only in their system for a cut and color. They had an additional employee stay late to complete her manicure. She also received a spa manicure with french tips on Friday evening that was a mess by Sunday; peeling, chipping, etc. The gentleman who did her nails (Reuben?) was there when we were having our updos done Sunday morning, and he took an extra 30 minutes to redo her manicure. *TIP* They said that the oils in the products they use in the "spa manicure" make the nail polish extremely hard to stick to the nail; which is why her nails were chipping within 24 hours. Additionally, we had some ladies join us on Sunday morning who were not having services done but were part of the bridal party. The staff made extra mimosas for them, and were very generous and kind to everyone. The decor is very modern (gotta love ikea!), and I was in love with the calming effect of the wallpaper in the nail salon. Regarding the services I received... They were fabulous. The stylists there definitely know what they are doing. My hair looked lovely and it stayed for over 10 hours! I also have to say that while my manicure didn't last very long (I'm rough on my hands), it was done VERY well, and my pedicure is still going strong! I have a serious health issue. I had never experienced any real issues in public with it until my appointment here. After maybe a week without a wink of sleep, I embarrassingly fell asleep during the service- though the stylist DIDN'T wake me; just laughed quietly at me w/ the other stylists & the customers there. Each time I wills after a few minutes- apologizing profusely, everyone was really good about being fake & saying it was ok. I was so ashamed, I got out as quickly as I could- assuming the silly curls I didn't ask for in my hair (that I probably paid $100 extra for) we're why it didn't look so great- so I paid, tipped over 30% & left. When I realized I didn't have any ladies framing my face as I was supposed to- I called them, blamed myself & offered to pay for a full haircut- I was just hoping it wouldn't be the top tier 'masters' cut (whatever the hell that means) to take 5 minutes to complete the service I'd paid $300+ for the day before. They didn't return any calls until they realized I want giving up- That's a lot of money & I'm still not able to wear my hair down any more than before it was cut. Except now I'm out A LOT of money. They must've pulled straws to have someone call me back to tell me the girl who cut my hair, not any other stylist, felt comfortable seeing me bc of 'how I was'. I quickly apologized & told her how embarrassed I had been as well...if they weren't so good at being fake; I would've just walked in instead of calling. I bet they'd have smiled and done it then. I'm still trying to find a QUALITY salon to get layers to frame my face & having a hard time justifying spending nearly another $100 just for someone to fix it. For all I know, the entire back is jacked up too- she didn't show my anything in the mirror except the stupid curls that I could see myself with the mirror in from of me. I'm leaving this in every single review board I can find & I may be calling the adults with disability helpline. $300+ to be mortified and not get the drive done is unreal. read more

I cannot recommend Whitney enough! She's fabulous. I've been going to her for years and am always pleased with my cut & color. I naturally have very dark and she's done an amazing balayage to blonde and back to dark over the years. She keeps my hair looking healthy. Even though she knows my hair & style she listens to ideas looks at pictures I like of styles and offers feedback. I've never left unhappy. First, I've always been happy with their work. I always left happy with my cut and color. However, I've been a loyal customer for nearly four years, but their customer service has become so bad, I am not be returning. A senior stylist recently forgot about me with foils in my hair. I sat there processing for an hour and ten mins. Then I was moved to a "new" stylist for my cut because his next appt was there. Then there was my bridal party. I booked in December. Ana told me I was the first party to book for my day in August, so we could have the "lounge" to relax while we get ready. On my day, there was another party in there and they never left. The owner moved us to the spa, but quickly moved us back to the lobby because someone else needed the spa. I understand not wanting to ask the party that overstayed their appt to leave the lounge, but what about the other customers. We felt like a nuisance, like our business was a bother. Oh, and the stylist I booked for my wedding was on vacation that day so I had to have someone else do it. She did a great job but COME ON. Enough is enough. I literally just walked out to my car from my massage and couldn't wait another second before putting in a review, specifically for Jessica in the spa. I've probably gotten 50 massages over the last few years and no one- NO ONE- compares to her. She's a magician, wizard, massage therapist and if I had a billion dollars, one of the first things I would do is send the whole world to have an appointment with Jessica. Im a wedding photographer and while that already messes up my back and shoulders pretty bad, this month I decided I'd fall down the stairs and hurt myself even more. I've been in pretty significant pain for the last few weeks and I don't feel any pain AT ALL right now. What I love most about Jessica is she gives a good relaxing massage, but she also can really work out your knots and muscles. She's incredibly talented and well versed in how the body works- I have no idea how she does what she does. She will give me a direction like to put my chin up in the air, and all of a sudden, I feel knots popping and my neck totally relaxing. I feel like a rag doll when I'm done. The happiest, most relaxed, good endorphined rag doll in existence. Whether you're looking to just chill and have some self care or work out some deep stress, Jess is your woman! I'm so thankful to have found her (and will continue coming to her despite now living a few hours away). Thank you Luxe and Jess. Best $100 ever spent. read more

I've always gotten excellent facials, haircuts, and nails at Luxe. All staff do an amazing job and are so friendly. I've had a different stylist or esthetician every time and the quality has still been consistent. The answers questions, work with you and want you to be happy. The only thing I have no tried out at Luxe is makeup application or massages. Fave place to go for all things beauty! Plenty of parking in the back lot or you could park on the street. read more

I stopped in yesterday 8NOV23 and I am giving it a 1 star due to the stylist being a nice young girl SARAH and serving wine. When I called I explained that 1st my hair is ethnic (afro-latin) wavy and curly and asked if they knew how to deal with this type of hair and was told yes. The so called "premier stylist" (maybe kinder stylist and go back to the drawing board) took 5 minutes to explain what i was going for and she then went to town. The look i was going for was to blend some greys into my black hair that was already there (including my already grey/platinum roots), and instead she dyed it was was to be brown (not sure why brown instead of just doing lighter highlights), so at this point I had brown, orange and my natural roots grey/black) Pictures speak a thousand words. Talk about disappointing and disregarding you as the paying customer and then stressing about 3 times she had other customers to take care of...very unprofessional! She sends me to the back to get my hair blow dried by someone else, she was nice too but they had no clue what roller settings was. Instead she put 2 velcro rollers on the front of my head and the young girl continued to blow dry my hair. I asked "are you not setting my hair with rollers under a dryer?" and she said we don't do that!!! Blows my mind and they have the nerve to charge me over $300 dollars for this piss poor job. Nothing against Caucasians but that was all that was going in and out of that salon, and all with straight natural hair...of course it's easier to work with...but if they don't ask the customer exact hair type they have, and let alone never knowing how to do it, then they should steer clear from working on ethnic hairs (I see on here complaints are from ethnic people like me that had issues). I didn't want to cause a seen because I am better than that so I proceeded to email and text twice to get refunded some of my money back and I have yet to hear from anyone...I could just call my CC company and have them cancel the transaction and say my card was stolen, but I am better person today due to seeking God 1st...so I will wait to see how long will it take them to respond back. If I get this hair done correctly, I will walk into there salon to show them how it was supposed to look in the 1st place. I had an appointment this afternoon. I was there a few years ago for a manicure and pedicure and had a decent experience, so I figured I'd try a hair cut. I arrived a few minutes early and was simply told to take a seat. Every person that came in after me was offered a beverage while they waited and every one of them was taken back in a timely manner. I waited 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time before deciding to leave. Not once was I apologized to or offered an explanation. When I told the receptionist I was leaving she said they'll give me 20% next time i come, but still no explanation. I'm very disappointed and won't be back. read more

I called to book my appointment a few weeks ago, asking if I could have a masked stylist as myself and my child are high risk. I was told this was no problem. I checked in and was greeted by my stylist unmasked. I asked if she was willing to put one on. She initially said no she didn't even have one then walked away to look in the desk drawers. She did put on a mask. However my appointment was rushed, and she was visibly annoyed by my request, which I made before scheduling. I was in a chair for 20 minutes from start to finish. This is not my first time in your establishment, but it will be my last. This has been one of the worst salon experiences in my way-too long life. I arrived promptly at 9am for my appointment. The place was packed! So I was escorted to some back treatment room and sat, BORED out of mind, by myself for the next three hours! My stylist, Scottie, was pleasant enough, but kept disappearing for half hours at a time while I sat with hair color on. I wasn't offered a magazine and there were no other customers/stylists to interact with. They were all up front in the "real salon". Then, of course, because Scottie was so busy and the coloring was taking HOURS, I was handed off after shampooing for someone else to style my hair because his next appointment was waiting. And then there is the hair color! When I got to my car, I cried. It set me back six months in what I know is a long process - growing out your natural color. It looks so unnatural now and it's way too dark. Now I'm off to the drug store to buy some Fade Out and hope the dye comes out of my hair. I really wish I had just handed the owner $115 and walked away without service. I would be happier now then I am. Then I go to pay and they run my card. I leave to go cry and an employee calls after me on the street (how embarrassing) because their machine sometimes "acts up" and doesn't actually take the money from the card. WHAT??? So then they want to copy down my card number and try in 15 mins because that usually works. I can't even leave without having a scene. They could have called me and asked for my card number. Needless to say, I will never be back for services. Next time I want to have my hair dyed black (which will be never), I will pick up a box of Clairol and do it my damn self. read more

I have made at least four attempts to like my services at Luxe salon being that it is so close to my home and lets face it, its hard to get on the fly appointments for salon services in Lancaster. I have a few things to warn others about this place: - Smoke and Mirrors: the nail techs, they aren't professional nail techs - they are hairdressers that have an open book to do your nails. They will serve you a mimosa and have you sit on a cheap sofa in a clean environment to make you "think" its Luxe - its not. Your nails will look second rate for the price tag. - Hair Color: I've had my blonde done way more professionally without being left looking dried out and frizzy in 2 weeks. - Waxing: If getting burnt and still rocking a scar 3 months later sounds awesome - book now. Management: Owner lady comes across like a bull. Had me confront the woman that screwed up my services as I was demanding my measly 12 dollars back. Classy broad she was- even went so far to ask me "what I wanted refunded?" Seriously? How bout you do the right thing and don't ask. Do yourself a favor- book at Bristle and Prim, Plum and other fine establishments in the city. This place is a sham. read more

I have been here twice and both times I have been incredibly impressed and happy! Prices: AMAZING! If you get a "new talent" your cut is only $35! SUCH A GREAT PRICE for a great full cut-not just a trim. I am so happy. I'm used to at least shelling out $50+ for just a cut, and I feel like this cut has been just as good if not better than those other spendier places. Service: Both of my hairstylists (Leah & Zinnia) were so kind, listened to what I wanted, gave me honest opinions and did such a great job on my hair. The desk staff has always been kind too. VERY IMPORTANT: they offer mimosas (obvi a great reason to come, who doesn't want that while getting a new do?), tea, coffee and water. It just adds a nice touch to show they care about clients and their comfort in the salon. They also offer other salon services like makeup, nails, waxing of which I can't comment, but knowing how well priced and satisfied I've been with my hair, I'd definitely consider going there for other services. I'd recommend making an appointment before trying to do a walk-in, it always seems busy- for a good reason! Atmosphere: I LOVE IT! My boyfriend and I were checking out places on Yelp for a couples' massage and came across Luxe. Needless to say, we were not disappointed! We arrived early on a Tuesday morning and parked in the back (large parking lot). The salon and spa were easy to find with the help of the large signs pointing you in the right direction. Once we walked in, we were greeted with mimosas and friendly faces. The space is very modern (totally IKEA) and clean. We were directed to a nicely appointed, albeit small, changing area. There were lockers, plush robes, and the usual hair products, etc., for freshening up after your services. There was also a very calming waiting area with a glass fireplace, comfortable chairs, blankets, and magazines. Our masseuses were Marlene and Luis. They were so amazing, I'm not sure a review is going to do it justice! Marlene worked some crazy magic on my shoulders/upper back and totally relieved some law school stress that I had pent up. My boyfriend raved that Luis gave him the best massage he'd ever received; perfect amount of pressure and absolutely, one hundred percent professional. What a great team! Neither one of us wanted the massage to be over when we ran out of time. We're already talking about booking again on our next visit to Lancaster. I would totally recommend! read more

Went in to get ombre done to my hair. Wanted purple in the ends of them. I sat in a washing bowl for over an hour which was very uncomfortable. Not all my hair was purple and people have told me it looked like I did it myself (after paying way too much) and now the purple is FADING after less than TWO WEEKS! Unbelievable. First of all- Ana, the owner, is a doll! I met her once through my family a couple years ago, and then went to Luxe for the first time this past Christmas. Not only did she remember me, but she gave me a huge hug and was incredibly sweet. She seems to have passed her personality and enthusiasm on to her staff because they too were all extremely friendly and professional. The couples massage was fantastic- a fraction of the price I pay in NYC and a better experience too. Our masseuses asked us what we wanted out of the massage (work out the kinks? just relax?) and delivered on our requests. I believe the boyfriend got Joyce and I got Kristi (who by the way-- looks exactly like Kate Hudson. My boyfriend was really upset that she was massaging me and not him LOL) My entire family goes here for a variety of services- nails, hair, massages, you name it- and raves about it everytime. Ana and her team are obviously doing something right! Overall- the place is very clean, spacious (gigantic), and nicely decorated. This was my first time at Luxe. I had scheduled a haircut and brow wax with Britni. She was professional and efficient. When I get a haircut, I usually prefer silence or minimal conversation and I think Britni was very tuned into that. My hair is curly and thick, but she took her time cutting and layering it. She went over each product that she used. At the end of the cut, I wasn't especially happy with how my hair was styled, but once I went home, washed it again, and let it dry naturally, I ended up loving my new haircut. I just finished a couples massage and pedicure! Oh my lord! It was amazing. It was so professional, so clean, and most importantly it was relaxing. They tailored to my needs and I feel amazing.
