Lutie on Sunset Blvd is a lovely and tranquil cafe specializing in matcha drinks with a lovely view. We just patronized Lutie an hour ago, had a delicious bagel with cream cheese, heirloom tomatoes, lox, pickled onions, capers and dill. The dill and capers were in short supply and different than seen in the many photos on Instagram so we asked for more to be provided and the kind service folk obliged. The everything bagel was toasted just about perfectly and it was a great breakfast (9/10). We got a classic matcha latte w house foam and a strawberry iteration and both were delightful. I could've used for a tad more strawberry essence in mine but I also appreciated that it was just subtle and delicious the way it was. These were both 9/10 matcha concoctions. A capper macchiato was a real surprise here! The lady at the counter explained they did theirs just as they do in Europe - hot, bitter and oily to a fault, the foam just ladled in on top - and let me tell you, it delivered on her promise. Beautiful location on the Sunset Strip just West of the Whiskey A Go Go! It's a small space with limited seating (two tables and two couches outdoors, with a communal table/bar seats indoors). The employees are incredibly kind and friendly, checking to see if there's anything more you need. I enjoyed a hot vanilla latte that was excellent- not too sweet. Also ordered the Lox bagel that was delicious. The bagel was perfectly toasted, had the perfect amount of cream cheese, and the pickled onions, dill, tomato, and acidity of the lemon perfectly balanced out. A very nice and modern coffee shop to relax and dine-in at for those looking hangout and chill. Service was friendly and prompt. I tried... 1. Ewina (3/5): Espresso + milk, basically a latte topped with their Housemade heavy cream. It definitely was pleasantly creamy with notes of nuttiness. It's not too sweet, so that's a plus. However, I felt the coffee/espresso to be underwhelming; would have to get double shot next time. Also, I am not sure why, but after drinking this, there's this layer of oil in the cup and you can definitely sense a coating of it in your mouth as well :/ 2. Matcha Chio (4/5): Ceremonial matcha mixed with rose water and milk, then topped/sprinkled with pistachio bits. It's definitely a unique drink to Lutie, so I give them credit for creating such a special drink. The rose flavor was quite strong, but not overwhelming. The matcha flavor had a nice earthy tone but it could be strong. I am glad it was not too bitter or powdery. I got this drink with unsweetened pistachio milk, which added some nuttiness along with the pistachio bits - turned out nice, smooth, nutty and floral. An added bonus is that they actually add a tiny rose bud in the drink, adding to its beautiful visual aesthetics. 3. Saffron Cake (4/5): This is supposedly gluten free. Overall, it has a sponge cake-like texture with a pleasant saffron flavor. It is topped off with a very generous amount of coconut shavings. I liked that it was not too sweet. It's slightly on the drier and dense side. I personally prefer airier and moister cakes, but that's just me. Cool place to check out if you're in the area!!! read more

This is one of the best matcha spots I've tried! The service with the staff is always top tier and the drinks never miss. I have been able to try a few of their speciality food items like the ceased wrap and it's super good. Definitely want to check out more of the menu. Their drinks have such vibrant flavors and beautiful presentation. I absolutely love the Matchachio, it's not too sweet and they're using great matcha, I think the rose water and the pistachio compliment each other so well with the matcha. When I'm in a coffee mood I love getting the Lavish Blume and their house cream top is so good. It's not cheap, but they are using good ingredients. The staff is always so kind and attentive. First time at Lutie! Great spot in the neighborhood for a quick snack and coffee or matcha. I tried the lox everything bagel with the heirloom tomato. It was light and crispy with a good flavor. The iced dark chocolate mocha latte with pistachio milk and vegan coconut cream top is tasty. I will be trying the matcha next time.
