Fish and Shrimp Combo with Green Beans and Fried Okra side Hushpuppies

First time having Lutfi's and I will definitely be back. We ordered through DoorDash, and the fish was still crispy when it arrived. I think that the fish could have used a little more salt, but that's a personal preference. The green beans are so flavorful with a bit of spice. && the hushpuppies were so crispy on the outside, but still soft on the inside. We also got a side of the corn nuggets, and I would recommend those as well.

Food is cooked to order so it's really fresh. The wait time was about 10 min which isn't bad. Staff was courteous and clean. Washed their hands frequently which was nice to take notice. It's a small eat in but it's ok. A little pricey but the quality was there so no complaints. Inside is nothing exciting but well lit.

OMG the fried fish and shrimp is amazing. Cooked fresh and even right in front of you, if you care to stand and watch. Restaurant is clean with friendly staff. They'll greet you with a smile. I do recommend getting an extra side because it's delicious. Go to place in all of KC are for fish. I'll have to make this a go to place

I was in the mood for fish and mac and cheese today! My go to place is lufis never disappoints! I had to be ar work at 830am for the world famous monthly team meeting for work so to put me a better mood a belly full of warm homemade mac and cheese and some catfish and red beans and rice and for 35 mins I was taken away from the stupor of my current situation and brought to a world of pure bliss! Dont forget the lemon cake! I've been here twice now and both times never never had an issue with the food or the service! The staff always takes care of me! Go see these good folks!

Very disappointed in the portion size. $8 for a baby tilapia. It was also hot as hell in the store. Dunno if the ac broke or they're trying to save on energy but it's a bit much. Taste is so so... but I like the Texas toast style. I suggest getting a food truck, getting from under the crazy overhead of a brick and mortar and giving people a good damn sandwich for $8.

I've been to this new location twice now since it's opened. The staff are super nice and attentive. The fish is just as fresh hot and crispy as I've come to expect from the Lutfi's name. I highly recommend I'd you are in the mood for some tasty fish. Their smoked wings are great too. My second visit just happened to be when. They were finishing a batch of smoked wings. Had to pick up a half dozen. Great smoky flavor and very meaty wings.

This was suppose to be the 16pc family meal

I was going to order through DoorDash but I notice the prices were way higher then on the website so we decide to call our order in. $44.20 on DoorDash but $34 if you order through the restaurant. On the DoorDash app and their website it said the family meal came with 16pc of fish (tilapia, basa, catfish or white), 2 sides. NOWHERE did it say that if you order the white fish you will only receive 12 pieces of pieces of fish. My husband picked up the order, the person behind the register flashed the box open to him and from what he could see the order looked right. Once he got home and we had a chance to see it more closely did we find that it was not as advertised. There are zero whole pieces of fish. Just chopped up chunks and strips. When I called to let them know we were missing fish, that is when they told us we should have asked if their menu was correct because you only get 12pcs with the whiting. How do you know to ask if the menu online and on the doordash app clearly says 16pcs???????? The lady was all additude and the cook in the back was yelling. It was so unprofessional and disappointing. My suggestion is if you order from here make sure to look into your crystal ball to see if there is anything you should ask since they want you to be a mind reader rather then they correct their menu and advertisements.

I took a pasta making class here a few years back and enjoyed it, but my wife really wanted to go back and dine there. She took advantage of the option to make a same day reservation for their patio. We ordered the following: focaccia, spicy vodka radiatori, chitarra alla gricia, and tiramisu. In descending order of what I enjoyed most - the tiramisu was my favorite part of the meal. It ended our lunch on a high note. This is my favorite style of tiramisu, and almost no one in KC does it like this. The spicy vodka radiatori tasted great and was well balanced with creamy cheese and spice. While it was enjoyable, I was realizing that an outdoor pasta lunch in the middle of summer isn't ideal. The whipped ricotta and honey spread served with the focaccia was the perfect spreadable pairing to the fresh, warm bread. Chitarra alla gricia is probably the closest to a Roman carbonara that I've had in KC. The pasta was thick and flavorful, and went well with the sauce. It was a weekday lunch so I paired the meal with a nonalcoholic Italian pilsner (since I'm big on beer; @halfwaywestbeer on IG). I will say I didn't feel entirely safe sitting on their patio. The planters between my seat and the road of speedy cars didn't assure me any safety. I enjoyed everything, but I don't plan to return to dine there. I would return for a pasta making class or to pickup some tiramisu to go. Don't stress if you're having a hard time getting a reservation. There's plenty of good pasta restaurants in KC of equal quality.

Italian dressing with blue cheese crumbles certainly hits the spot and is perfect for the main course. Tonight, I went with one of my favorites, Cavatelli Catania, and it is perfect. So hot that when you turn the pasta over, the steam rolls out. Just the way I like it. Extra cheese on top, and you are good to go. Not only now, but there is so much there is enough to take away and have another meal. Ambiance was cool - it was low light, lots of wood and interesting architecture. Definitely felt "old school" in a good way. Not what we were expecting from the outside which is not particularly unique as far as the build out. We waited at the host stand for a bit but it was clear every worker was in the middle of a task (we saw a very large party and it seemed like food for every table was Just coming out). One thing I really admired was that every employee that walked by (running to a table with a tray of food, turning a ticket in, etc.) made eye contact with us and acknowledged our presence and apologetically said, "We will be right with you!" We didn't wait long at all and we didn't care even if we did, but I just thought that was so kind compared to some joints where employees who are busy just pretend you are not there. We were met with kindness at the door and that meant more to me than the great service and great food. The rolls are SO good and they come out warm. I had the Murphy which was very flavorful and on the spicy side, while my fiance had chicken Alfredo. We both left full and happy! We will definitely return!

We did find out they have a happy hour at the bar...right after we missed it. Rookie mistake on our part! The lasagna absolutely stole the show. Rich, flavorful, cheesy, and worth every bite. If you're on the fence, order it. The appetizer was tasty but felt a little small for the price, so I'd probably save room (and money) for more pasta instead.
