I tried Lupita's for the first time a few weeks ago. I had been struggling with a migraine and just really wanted some fideo to make me feel better. It was so good that I ended up going back the week after! Customer service is mostly good. I've only done carry out so can't really say how eating in is. There was one lady who didn't seem like she wanted to check me out but it might have been a language barrier issue. So far I've had the following: Fideo de pollo (large): 5/5 wonderful flavor. It comes with two very large chicken legs, a side of refried beans with I believe cotija cheese on top, your choice of flour or corn tortillas, and limes and a large grilled jalapeño. I usually stick the jalapeño in the fideo and use the tortilla and beans for a breakfast taco later. I end up getting two meals out of the fideo and a whole meal (minus the eggs that I add in) out of the beans and tortillas. Horchata: 3/5 it's decent but I've had better. It kind of tastes watered down and lacks a stronger cinnamon flavor that I like. Flan: 4/5 decent flan but a little on the gelatin side rather than being custardy. read more

On my never-ending search to find the best menudo in the world, my Yelp friends steered me to Lupitas. They were not wrong! Very good menudo served with onions, cilantro and jalapenos on the side and of course with lime .... and without even asking for it, ground Arbol Chile and Mexican Oregano in shakers! That's the only way to go when preparing the perfect bowl of menudo. When you first sit down, they bring you a bowl of salsa for the table with chips and some salsa verde and salsa rojo for your future use . I tried some of the salsa verde on the chips and it was so flavorful I had to order a barbacoa taco so I could enjoy more of it. Friendly service, clean environment. This was definitely a good surprise. It's a small restaurant with maybe 10 tables and stayed pretty steady while I was there. The staff is sweet and attentive. They seem to work together well. I had the chilaquiles divorciados and opted for then beef fajita instead of the chicken fajita and added 2 eggs. They had the perfect level of spiciness. The eggs were cooked perfectly, over medium and the beef fajita was good and flavorful. They forgot the avocado that comes with it but they brought it out when I asked. The sauces are also pretty good. The coffee was good and so was the pineapple water. Will most definitely be back again! read more

It's ok and what you'd expect. The one thing they need to do is serve filtered water. Houston tap water is beyond disgusting. They use tap for water and to make the ice. So if you get a water or anything with ice, it's gross or will eventually be gross after the ice melts The food is typical and the staff is mostly friendly. Been here several times and had the tacos, pancakes, a quite a few other breakfast items and tortas. Everything is as you'd expect it. Prices are very reasonable. Delicious authentic mexican food. Both the red and green mole are *chefs kiss*. The chilaquiles are also a must for breakfast/brunch. One of the best flan & tres leches as well. The menudo is not greasy like in most places. They have a good amount of vegan options as well which is a plus for me. They'll do large orders of their tamales even vegan ones too. They also sell a lot of their Tres Leches cake to-order for birthdays, weddings, graduations, etc. Highly recommend! read more

The restaurant was clean and the staff was kind. My issue is The food was just bland. We ordered a mixed plate of tacos. None of the meat had seasoning besides the pastor but it was very sweet from the pineapple they used. The green mole enchiladas were pretty sour. I had the huracha I believe is what it was called. It was fine, just again needed seasoning. The queso though. They had so many tomatoes onions and a very large amount of culantro in it. That was all unnecessary and the culantro completely over powered the queso and my kids wouldn't even eat it. The place does not line up with the previous 5 star reviews any more. If you love Mexican food, you must check out Lupita's. Their food is very yummy and their customer service is top notch. I ordered chilaquiles with a fried egg on top, my bestie ordered pozole, and my kids ate pancakes. Everything was great. We had 0 leftovers to box up and take home. All in all, we had a very pleasant dining experience and they even gave us complimentary pastries for Mothers Day. To top everything off... I forgot my card there and didn't realize it until after my kids and I were at church. I called to see if I left it there and our waitress told us she had already called my credit card company to report it. That really impressed me. I don't usually do reviews but this is the BEST Mexican restaurant I been too , from the food to the service! Starting off with their appetizer salsas they are so good, then I got the red mole for my meal and it was the best mole from anywhere else around here. Both of my visits there I've been served by Maria & she the most sweetest server there. My first time there I mentioned to her it was my first time and she had such good recommendations, thanks to her I found my favorite dish. This place hit the spot for me when my dad and I were craving Mexican food. It was quite a drive from where I live but we really enjoyed our dishes! I got an appetizer entree and you can order half orders or the full- which is pretty neat! I got beef quesadillas and my dad got enchiladas. We were extremely satisfied with our dishes considering how we randomly chose any Mexican restaurant. The decor was..interesting. There were pinatas hanging from every square inch of the roof. But however different the decor is, the service was wonderful! They really paid attention instead of the waiters that don't give a rat's ass about their customers. Found this place on Yelp driving to traders village. Within a minute our waitress came to our table to greet us and ask us what would we like to drink. Immediately we felt a great vibe from our waitress ( candy) and this place. We explain that we were vegans and to our surprise so was candy (2 years), she guided us to what we could eat, which was awesome. We had the papas a la mexicana and beans with rice. The tortillas were so fresh and hot and delicious, just like mama makes. Needless to say this place is fantastic, the restroom were very clean as was the whole restaurant. I usually say if your in the area to try a place but in this instance,go out of your way to try this place. Oh the person who reviewed lupita's before me , I'm not sure what kind of day you had but it clearly affected your judgement. Go, you won't be disappointed. Hole in the wall place for quick Mexican food. I really didn't know what to expect it's kind of hit or miss with these places. I figured there are real people eating here so it's worth the try. The atmosphere is as you can imagine basic taqueria tables and chairs, tv with spanish soaps and a mural of Mexico. The service was actually really great and they had real Mexican coke in the glass bottles. I ordered the beef fajita torta and the best thing about it was the bolillo bread and I think that had to do with the bakery next door. I have to check it out next time.
