I've been coming to this place since I was young. I think it's been renovated 3 times. Before the last renovation this place was a dump. Also before the last renovation, the town owned. A while later a family bought it and renovated it. They got a new staff, food that is made in the restaurant, and a new pretty look. Before this place was fixed up I hated it except for the ice cream. Now that it is so much nicer and the food is so much better, I would come here every time I was finding a place to eat in Weston. read more

Our little town is lucky to have the Lunch Box. Local owners that take their time to create an amazing menu with flavors from all over. My kids are greeted by name when they come in, and the servers are always happy to accommodate my picky let's take a little of this and that and make a weird drink. They even remembered it the next time I stopped in! Breakfast is my personal favorite, but my son could live on the pizza if allowed. Even my vegetarian daughter is always able to find something to eat and loves the meals she gets there. This isn't always the case at most restaurants. It's a great family place and perfect for meeting friends. But it's also really nice when hubby and I want to grab a local bite without the littles. read more

Our waitress was wonderful, but the food was less than mediocre. My husband ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich that tasted like heated freezer food. I'm a regular here, I've had almost everything on the menu. The food is delicious. Rarely had something I didn't like. In terms of service, extremely slow. The food takes a long time to come out. You have to go out of your way to ask for everything or wait for the waiter to come by which isn't often. Also they don't allow outside drinks (soda, juice, etc) even if you've been coming here for months and have spent a lot of money. They don't serve pickles at all. I would recommend if you're in the area with a lot of time and patience on your hands. read more

Fantastic neighborhood restaurant. Great food, reasonably priced. Wife and I feel lucky to have it so close to our house. This is a great place for individuals on their way to work, families having some time together, a small or large group. They are accommodating and will push tables together for you, especially if you call ahead. As other reviewers have said, this is not your old lunchbox. The staff is friendly and courteous, the food is very good, and the ambiance vastly improved. It's a pleasant place to grab some food or relax over a leisurely meal. Our group of nine was there for breakfast. We had our cups frequently filled with coffee and a bottle of ice cold water on the table at all times. We had a variety of meals and everything was reported to be very good to excellent. I had the hash and enjoyed it but would have liked a bit more meat in it. The whole grain toast was very good and my poached eggs were perfect! The waffle was crispy, the pancakes with strawberries and those stuffed with banana were both very good. Eh the reason for this review is because the last 2 times I went to bring my daughter to lunch or order a pizza they were CLOSED. During Christmas break/New Years weekend they were closed all 4 days of the weekend! And today Mon. Feb.18 Presidents' Day, it was again closed. The phone recording says 'closed presidents weekend' so I'm not sure if it was just 1 day or more but seeing as we ha e 1 restaurant in town, this is unbelievable. Some of the food is good, I get cravings for the Cobb Salad. The pizza is 'eh' but my daughter seems to like it and it is convenient (when open) I wish there were better kids options. I could stay home and cook my kid a box of pasta for .99 instead of the handful of macaroni I get here for $5. The breakfast items are great but lunch and dinner are all over the place. Sometimes a 'special' hangs around so much I think it has become a menu item, only to order and find it's not available. A little more consistency with what's available and being consistently open would be helpful. Without some other town competition it seems to be a big free for all. read more

My reason for this review is because I recently found out I am allergic to gluten..... And this is the first place with a gluten free pizza that is not only edible, but delicious. Wonderful little spot in an already adorable little town. My fiance insisted we go here for breakfast at least once while visiting his sisters who live in Weston. We went at a great time and manged to beat the crowds. I got pancakes. They pretty much melted in your mouth. You get 3 for $5.95 with whipped butter and warm syrup in its own individual container. Wow these people are so nice!! We ordered a pizza and came to pick it up and it wasn't ready yet, so we had to wait a little. Great local spot and very family friendly. (Chalkboard wall in the back and mini lunchboxes with activities for kids). The Lunch Box in Weston, Connecticut is so convenient and has great food. First off, it's filled with amazing employees. They are all so nice and always get the orders right. The food there is also great. They offer a wide variety from salad to steak, and its always cooked to perfection. My large family of 7 especially likes their burgers and cob salads, the burger is full of flavor and the salad is filled with so many different foods that makes it delicious. Let me start by saying the decor is nice and the place is clean. Staff was friendly but not as attentive to our table and it wasn't crowed. We had a table of 5, 3 adults and 2 children. I ordered the fried chicken, it was not good, too greasy and dark like the oil needed to be changed also it was dry, maybe overdone. I was disappointed.The kids menu was ok but nothing they really wanted so they ordered each an egg sandwich with bacon and sausage. They said it was ok. One adult ordered the salad with salmon $17 and the portion was small they finished it all and said it was very good but they were still hungry. The drinks were fine but the coffee terrible. If you have what should be better food and more upscale place, don't chinch on the coffee. Bad coffee ends a meal terrible. The kids ordered each a dessert. A brownie sundae and a cone of ice cream with sprinkles they said it was very good and that made up for the fact they only ate less than half of there sandwiches. So overall wouldn't go back. This place has an ok breakfast. The people next to us hated it and resigned themselves to eating some of it but ours was ok. We tried ordering fried chicken with onion rings and fries and it was simply inedible. The onion rings were so soggy you couldn't figure out what you were looking at. The fried chicken was the worst I've had. Over salted, over cooked and as much as we were hungry entirely inedible. We threw everything out after the first few bites. I'll give it 2 stars because it's at least the only place that delivers in the area (before 7). read more

Nearly EVERY TIME I have ordered from the Lunch Box, my order had been delivered incorrectly. I've been here many times over the years always trying to give it another chance as it is one of the few places in Weston to get something to eat. Not all, but some of the servers are rude to customers. Among other things I have been asked to move my seat midmeal to seat a bigger party at my table and move me to a smaller table. I had to move my own food. The workers (several) do not use gloves to pick up bagels and pastries and give them directly to the customers after handling cash. Pretty gross. Ordered twice for take out today, first order didn't have an entire meal, second meal left out half of the sides. Asked for the sides to be delivered for the second meal, and has been over 30 minutes. Make sure you check your order when you take out, because you will not be a priority if they make mistakes. I have to say I will still go to the lunchbox as the food is great, and will take my aforementioned advice into consideration when engaging. read more
