I purchased frames & lenses and then waited ten days (as expected - thus began the range within…read morewhich I was told they would arrive). On the first day on which I was told I could expect the frames to be in-store with their lenses, I got a call asking if I would be satisfied with another color, perhaps green, although I had ordered gold frames. I asked for a full refund & an explanation of what occurred, instead. They told me that the frames were going out of production and that an Under Armour rep repossessed the frames that they had in-store. What I suspect actually happened is they just order frames off the grey web of resellers on behalf of their customers (adding 200$ to the price, for the "service"). Hence their inability to rely on their procurement process. I asked how I might track down another pair of those frames, they did supply me with a contact that seemed reasonable. The people there could not help me, much as I'm sure they couldn't help whatever receptionist or salesperson made the calls to try and procure the frames they had already sold me before they tried the honorable grey web - if indeed they ever did. I'd almost count this as a benefit, but the truth is the kind gesture of letting me get stonewalled by some megacorporation didn't really help me at all, it just wasted yet more time. Never happened before in my life. I've gone through a lot of frames, too. It felt remarkably like being scammed. If I wanted to buy something and never receive it, I'd just go to the grey web myself. By trying to get glasses here, I added 14 days of wearing broken glasses into my life, which has been some minor trouble.

It is a TRAVESTY to not have updated my review since Dr. Pusz took over ownership here! She is…read morejust the best and I would recommend her over and over again. She's made some really great improvements to the business too. I know she cares and has breathed some new energetic life into the business too. My eyes suck, they just do. So they're pretty tricky to work with and Dr. Pusz has always been very patient with me and my questions and concerns. I basically come in every time and say, I think I'm slowly going blind and she just reassures me that's not the case very calmly and I appreciate that. But if I do have valid concerns she will investigate the issue. She has sent me to some specialistists and done tests to just make sure everything is okay (which everything has) and I appreciate that care. The other thing I really like is their eyeglass selection. I definitely go for funkier glasses and while they absolutely have traditional frames, they have some really fun and funky glasses. One pro-tip too, if you like a pair of sunglasses frames, they can make those regular frames for you too! I've picked up some fun striped cateye Kate Spade glasses that are my absolute favorite I own. It takes a couple weeks to get them in, just a heads up. I will say it can take a while to get my contacts in. I get one-day disposable contacts and have a stigmatism. I'm not sure if these are a "special order" item or not. But it's taken up to 3 weeks to get them in and sometimes I don't think that far ahead to order more before I run out. So just be aware you will need to order contacts from them well ahead of when you think you'll be running out. The whole staff is very nice and it's easy to see why, it always comes from the top down. I'm so glad to have Dr. Pusz taking care of my eyes and I actually look forward to my visits to chit chat and catch up!

At 9:45, I asked how much longer it would be. It was too long, and I had to be back at work by a certain time, so I told them I was leaving and did so. That would be enough for me to avoid a place and recommend that others do the same, as keeping the appointments you make is one of the basic hallmarks of a serious business. It didn't end there. The next weekend I went to a different optometrist. That optometrist was unable to help me, as these fools at Gateway Eye Associates had put a "prior authorization" on my insurance. I tried to call Gateway Eye Associates, but all on receives when calling them is an automated message directing one to their website. I ended up having to wait until Monday morning to call my insurance company and have them remove the hold. So, not only were they unable to help me, but they also prevented anyone else from helping me as well. Seriously: Don't go here.

I have never seen such a large selection of frames in one store! All hand picked by Heidi herself…read more Beautiful and unique frames. The do come at a cost but you get quality. There's a sale once a year where I go and get my pretty frame. My prescription is high, and they use a great lab to make the lenses fit just right (if you don't have a high prescription, you may not understand what I mean). Oh and Heidi and one of her receptionist (forgot her name) are fantastic at finding a frame to fit your face. They know what they carry and where everything is!

I would be OK with the premium prices of $500-700ish on the frames I tried on, IF there were frames that fit my face and preferred style. But what I liked just didn't suit my face shape. I just couldn't find a single frame that I was in love with that sat well on me. It wasn't for lack of trying. Instead I wasted my time bringing frames I already had and liked back in. The other thing that didn't sit with me philosophically is that they were OK to charge me totally out of pocket (almost $500 for my prescription), but couldn't be bothered to let me use my optical insurance to bring that price down for me. Buyer beware, especially since the style frames they have aren't for everyone. I'd actually liked the styles they carried and that's why I'd chosen them, but none sat well enough on my face. If they can't be bothered to save their customers a couple hundred dollars if there is no frame sale in it for them, that doesn't jive with me philosophically. I suggest you folks reading this think about if this is the kind of place that deserves your business.

My first experience was marked by an unwelcoming office that was not open during the posted hours and after calling the number listed I spoke with Zoe, the technician. We scheduled an appointment for later in the week and to her suggestion, we went with a direct payment rather than the Groupon that caught my eye. After my first session of 4 areas, only 30% of the treated hair was affected. I called and left a message and did not hear back until several days, and calls later, in which I stated that I would pursue a refund. This got their attention and the response was that I needed 6 more treatments to see the maximum effectiveness. Fearing the loss of the money that was already paid, I continued with the service, regrettably. Each session left areas untreated and when mentioned I was told to use the next session for those areas. Scheduling is another migraine in the making as Zoe has other jobs and schedules for her convenience. The amount of time that she allows between sessions is less than 1 month at max. One attempt at scheduling took 10 days and multiple calls to get completed and I was told the office is not always available as it is shared with a doctor of some sort. During my last visit, I was greeted with a shout from the back rather than the customary hello, please follow me routine that we are used from a medical professional. Over the course of the treatment, I learned that the armpit and arm have a distinct, yet very vague, cut off and that she will not go beyond this ambiguous line, not even for one hair that she "missed" before. Raising questions became a battle of patience that any parent of a toddler can agree sometimes you just have to cut your losses for the sake of sanity, In scheduling the last session, I was able to get another technician who can book further out and although the time was unfavorable, and questionable given the openness of their calendar, I will be relieved to be finally done with this business. The focus seems to be on profit and their convenience over professionalism and customer satisfaction. I would only recommend this place as a case study for future entrepreneurs on what not to do and am giving serious thought to writing to both the BBB and the health department as no one should have to endure the experience that I have had. Save the $1,000.00 for another more adept business or take your chances and stock up on patience and Advil, you will need a lot of both to deal with Zoe.
