Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. Apparently they are unfamiliar with the fact that they are on Groupon so I had to call back when someone from the company was in the office to get on the schedule. They had availability for two weeks later. I wasn't in a rush so I don't mind the wait. I wasn't scheduled for the 12-4 time window. On the day of I had a work commitment that came up last minute. They were very accommodating when I called so I was pushed further back on the timeslot till after 3 PM so I could be home for the service. The technician Isaiah arrived and informed me what he was going to do. Afterwards he sent me a detailed report with photographs of my gutter system. Thankfully, everything looked good and I did not require any additional services after the cleaning and tuneup.

For the first time I realize I had been hearing a fair amount of outside noise (which I'd apparently gotten used to), because these windows/doors are soundproof; now I don't hear anything at all from outside! And even better, the windows are easy to open, and my sliding glass doors actually slide well in the track, and are not shaking and drafty when it's windy outside -- major improvements from my old, builder-grade, 20+ year-old windows/sliding door. Further, the service crew was excellent -- careful, kind, professional, efficient, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. Roger, the foreman, has been doing this work for almost 30 years, and Jose, who single-handedly carried in/out the windows/doors, has been doing this work for 10+ years. I didn't get the name of the quiet third service person who was mostly outside and on the ladders, also very efficient. fyi, they did mention that working on the 4th floor of our condos from ladders was a bit more challenging as the original builder-grade windows had been made to fit by being packed/taped in place from the outside, which necessitated them having to actually break some of the glass to be able to pull the old windows out. But they did it - and did it well. Finally, Shaun, the project manager who gave me my estimate and oversaw the project from estimate, HOA approval process, to completion, was great. My Wife and I looked it over and realized that there was a discrepancy in how long the warranty is. One part of the contract (which was clearly created by him) stated that they would provide a 12-year warranty for their work. Another part of the contract (which was probably created by an attorney) stated that they would provide an 8-year warranty for their work as well. When he arrived I asked him about the discrepancy in the contract and he said that the contract was done by his lawyer. I asked him if he could update the contract to reflect the correct warranty and he got upset because I questioned him about it. He literally stormed out the house after I asked him to do this. As he was leaving I yelled out for him to make the updates and as soon as I receive it I will scan it back to him. He brushed me off and kept going. I haven't heard from him since! I gave him 24-hours before calling him but to no avail. I called him a couple more times and even texted him letting him know I was still waiting on him to return my phone call. Still NOTHING. Take this as a warning. READ THE FINE PRINT IN YOUR CONTRACT!

He answered all our questions during a face-to-face meeting prior to work starting, and was extremely communicative during the two days of work, letting me know how many decking sheets the work team would need to replace as they counted them, checking in when the 100-degree heat slowed the team down, and working with me to determine whether we wanted to go ahead and replace two damaged skylights along with the roof. I have never had a better experience with a contractor, as the skills needed for such work don't often seem to come with the same skills for customer service -- ACC and Alex specifically are the exception! The work itself is also excellent, and the team spent more than an hour at the end of a very long, hot day cleaning up my yard and sweeping the premises for any fallen nails or debris. I certainly don't expect to need a new roof again any time soon, but if I have any other projects within ACC's purview, I will be hiring them again in an instant.
