This was a complicated project involving a leaking glass sunroom built into a clay tile roof as well as seven more skylights. What we really appreciate about Armor Roofing is their rapid response and their constant communication, keeping us updated on the two month process of taking measurements, drawing up plans, providing a multi-page proposal with detailed costs, with updates on delivery of new synthetic tiles, skylights and a planned start date. Co-owner Santiago Rodriguez, who is project manager of challenging structures like ours, is a master craftsman. His hearty crew members are talented hard workers who arrived at dawn and worked way beyond dusk in the dark! They even pay attention to little details like cleaning up the ground around our house every evening before going home and texting us when they're going to be "10 minutes late"! Three weeks ago, our roof started leaking in our garage during the heavy spring rains and my husband asked me to contact a roofer asap, so I called William's cell and he was at the house within 30 minutes! My husband was equally impressed by William's direct, honest, non-pressure, very detailed and clear explanations of each type of materials that his company uses and stands by their quality and guarantee! From start to finish, we had an over the top experience with everyone involved, from the excellent communication from William, including Arial with prompt emails, responses and explanations. Tre, who was the onsight supervisor during the entire job of removing the old roof and replacing with the new gave us detailed explanations when it came to needing to replace some of the rotten sheets of plywood. The entire crew of workers were so professional and a joy to have on our property! They all were totally focused on their quality of workmanship and teamwork! All of our plants were protected as much as possible and they did an amazing job of cleaning up and picking up any nails or debris. Everything was done in a timely manner and now we have beautiful new gutters that match the new roof. We will be keeping the yard signs up for several months so that all of our neighbors can see who is the BEST ROOFING company around! Already, people have been taking photos! Mike quoted both to repair and to replace, and we got an honest opinion that replacing was better given the age and possibility for more leaks. We also went with them because their quote was competitive and we liked the Certainteed Presidential TL product they offered. Their crew showed up on time on the agreed upon day and quickly removed the old roof and installed the new one. We love the look of the Presidential TL, it adds an elegance to our house that stands out compared to our neighbors, and we've received many compliments. My only suggestion to Cornerstone is to improve their communication. For example, it was forecast to rain most of the week before our install. Rather than me calling to ask if our install was still on schedule, it would have been nice to get a proactive call from them assuring us of that fact. Also, the install crew was very nice and professional, but on the 2nd day after they were done they just disappeared without a word. I would have appreciated a knock on the door to say they're done and that another guy would stop by next week to do the final cleanup and touch-ups (instead I called to ask if they were truly done and why there were still nails and debris in our yard). Personally I think over-communication to the customer would be preferred with a project of this size.

Neil came out to give us a quote himself, and was very thorough and informative. No pressure at all. We got a few other quotes as well, but we loved that Davison is owned by a local family, and that the husband and wife team are 100% behind the operations. Their price was on par or substantially lower than the other quotes we received. The roofers showed up on time and as promised and worked hard for four days, starting at 8am, and sometimes even working until 8pm. They started on a Tuesday, and by Friday night, they were all done. We are so impressed with the work that was done. It is absolute perfection. From the explanation, to the list of local addresses we could check out to see what each color looks like, to how well they executed the pattern, the layout, the clean up, the communication - all of it. It is no surprise to me that they have the highest BBB rating possible. We chose Certainteed Presidential Shadow Gray. It looks better than we could have imagined. When I finally dig an inspector out, he said there was no issue whatsoever and that I was fine to just clean up some minor water spots on an interior window and do a better job caulking. I finally went for a second opinion, and not only did they find the nails were not galvanized and installed on top of the roof instead of on the side, water had leaked in quite drastically leading to a $3000 repair. This other company literally walked on top of my roof and with her bare hands, picked up the entire tack strip that is supposed to keep things glued down. She couldn't believe the nails that were used and the placement but more so, that this was said to be 'no issue' by a professional. Your guy that came out to investigate literally never even put his hand on it to wiggle it around and see if there was an issue, he just looked - no ladder, just climbed part of my balcony and looked. If I had listened to him and just caulked the interior window so that more water wouldn't have come through, this would've continued and become an absolutely horrific problem. I know customer service agents aren't always a reflection of the company but this gentleman was a 'master installer' his words. I'm not sure what there is more to say, but as a business owner you may want to know. As an aside, I do appreciate that even months later, someone responded to this. I do hope things work out as your company continues to change.

What was different? The quote had attention to every detail and included higher quality materials, better design and superior workmanship. Also the quality of the service was exceptional- communication with the team and among the team was flawless. Our roof was mainly asphalt with a PVC section and needed plywood to be added on top of the old ship lap. It also needed venting - which can be tricky- especially providing intakes on a 1940s house. All this was included in the quote. They had no problem adding 2 skylights with no upcharge-save the cost of the skylights themselves. The team is up to date and educated on the latest advances and details of techniques. I am so thankful to have found Three Tree. I have worked with contractors extensively on two old properties over 20 years, and Three Tree was probably the best. Prior to hiring them I talked with my former roofer - who now only does very high end work(John Michael Roofing). He has seen many roofs and said Three Tree does good quality work. He also advised me to beware in hiring a roofer as there are many pitfalls. With that advice I proceeded with more caution than I would have otherwise!
