As for the food: 1. The grilled shrimp were nice and firm and well grilled. Enjoyed them a lot 2. The hash brown fries were pretty unique and definitely a must get. It comes with a nice creamy sauce that you want to dip everything in. Only criticism is the prices. Didn't really order a lot of food with two appetizers, but I paid two main entree type prices for them. Were that great? Definitely! Just be aware up front if this is a factor.

They offer indoor and outdoor seating, with a mix of booths and hightop seating. Our service was welcoming and attentive. To drink I ordered the sangria, which was strong but delicious. My friend had an old fashion and she enjoyed her drink as well. As an appetizer, we enjoyed the Brie, jam and toast. The menu isn't expansive, meals seem to lean more on the lighter side of dinner. (Tacos, salad, chicken sandwich, wings, etc.) We had all of the above and most of us were satisfied with our meals. The food is not as good as Bacon & Butter, but I'd still recommend it for happy hour or to pregame a night out. Another small highlight was the parking in the area was free as opposed to central downtown. 3.7 s

Jungle Bird is a great place to end a night out with something yummy to sip on!…read more The atmosphere and decor is super unique, even for a tiki bar. The only downside is that it can get a little crowded and busy which means that tables and bar tops aren't really wiped down between patrons and there's a lot of dried spills and stickiness. The food was good, the drinks were great, and the whole atmosphere made for a really fun date night. We started with the Pu Pu Platter, which came with veggie spring rolls, crab rangoon, coconut shrimp, chicken pot stickers, and Huli Huli chicken wings. What I really liked is that you can mix and match the platter. You don't necessarily have to get one of everything, so if you really like the pot stickers, for example, you can double up on those and substitute something else. Everything we had was really good! I also loved the presentation. It came out on a spinning tray with a little warmer in the middle, which was such a cool touch and really added to the tiki-bar experience. Since I'm not a big drinker, I went with a couple of mocktails. Sadly, I don't remember the names or flavors , but I do remember they were AMAZING! Even the fresh pineapple on the rim was good. We also ordered the togarashi fries, and those were really good too! Just watch out for those jalapeños because they had a little kick to them! The dipping sauce that came with the fries was really good as well. My only setback was the lighting. I know a tiki bar is supposed to have a dark atmosphere, but it was so dark that we had a hard time reading the menu and had to use the flashlights on our phones. We definitely weren't the only people doing it either. One last thing I have to mention, the bathroom was REALLY clean! I always appreciate that. Overall, I had a great experience. My girl did a great job picking this spot for the surprise, and we would definitely come back!

We felt like we are the only ones there! This is my favorite hookah place in Sacramento! It's the only place that does not have the club vibe . All the workers are nice, friendly and welling to help even the owner is nice. I have been a customer at least for the past 3 years and moreover and for the last year I would come by one or twice a week with friends or by myself. I was shocked when I visited this weekend because the prices went up in a crazy way even the regular hookah and customer service were bad unfortunately I asked about one of the smoothies ingredients he didn't understand but as it showed in the picture it looks like strawberry, kiwi and pineapple kind of smoothie whatever I ordered it with my hookah the smoothie came fast but I waited for the hookah 20 minutes which never happened. The smoothie was bad it taste like milk and pudding cream with a bit of strawberry I drink almost half of it because I paid for it I'm not sure if the place has new owner or something but they really need to work on the customer service and someone who's know how to make drinks. I really wish it get better if this review was a month ago I would give it 5 stars.

But everything was great, as they provide what you need for a delicious meal. Ambiance- dark and cozy. They have an actual bar which is away from the grill for those choosing to imbibe and go. We got introduced to The Butterscotch Den by a couple of lawyers who evidently know the 'hood. Been a while since I've lived/worked in town so they are a great resource to fun places like this. Drinks are delicious. I ordered a couple different sauces to go with our large steak which we split. Even having split the steak, we brought some home. You cook your own so be okay with possibly not sitting the entire time. On the side of the grill are various accoutrements for your steak. Assorted flavored salts as well as regular salt and pepper were included with the experience. You could also order compound butter for a small fee but we didn't. Might want to try a much more budget friendly hot dog or even a sausage next time. Try it out for happy hour! Very friendly drink list.

I made a reservation for 4 PM, right when they opened, so we were some of the first guests there. The place itself was really nice, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. They're open from 4 PM to 1 AM and have TWO happy hours--4-6 PM and again from 10 PM until close, with the same happy hour menu. Twice the fun! The food menu is short and sweet, and the concept is definitely different. There's a community grill in the middle of the room where you cook your own proteins. The menu even gives you instructions on how to cook each protein, which I thought was a nice touch. Since we arrived early, we were lucky enough to have the grill all to ourselves. It definitely started getting busier closer to the time we were leaving. I ordered the Den Burger and shrimp cocktail. The burger came with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. It was decent, although the bun seemed a little stale. My daughter also ordered the Den Burger with a loaded baked potato, while her boyfriend had the 8 oz. steak, dinner rolls, and fries. They have a pretty nice selection of cocktails, although the drink menu personally didn't appeal to me much. My daughter and her boyfriend each ordered a few of the tequila, lime, pomegranate, and bitters cocktails, while I kept it simple with a Tito's soda with bitters. In my opinion, the drinks were a little overpriced for what they were. Overall, I'm glad I checked this place off my list. It was definitely an experience, and I enjoyed the ambiance, friendly service, and unique cook-your-own-food concept. I wouldn't necessarily return specifically for the food, but I could see myself coming back for the atmosphere, drinks, and experience--especially when looking for an interesting spot in Oak Park.
