Upon entering, we were greeted immediately by one of the owners and the stylist who was going to take care of my mom. My mother got a body wave, and her stylist was Ariana. My mother is elderly and has had the same haircut for decades, but it had grown out and she's no longer able to maintain it the way she used to be able to. Ariana was very patient with her and helped her determine what would work best. My mother was very pleased with the outcome. It's a bit of a change, but she's getting used to it. I simply needed a simple haircut. My stylist was Belinda. She was great! She understood what I was looking for and did not try to change my mind or convince me to do something else like I've had previous stylist do, because I have long straight hair and it's The perfect canvas to try new things with. However, that's not what I'm interested in. The prices for my mother and my perm and haircut were very reasonable! My mother and I agree that we were both very happy and will definitely be going back to see Ariana and Belinda when we need our next hair appointment. I cannot recommend this locally owned, small business enough!

Who would have guessed it's in Bowie?! I stumbled upon this shop and Diane has been doing my hair for over 2 years now. I look back at my "pre-Diane" photo's and cringe at my hair (at the time I thought it was good - but now I know better!) I have very naturally curly hair and I finally took the plunge and had Diane give me the all-natural keratin treatment. I can't tell you what a god-send this has been! It literally saves me over 30 minutes each morning - yep... each morning! The best part is people actually comment on how nice my hair looks - and some even go so far as to say it makes me look younger - who doesn't love that compliment?! The true test came when I suggested my 20yr old daughter give Diane a twirl... she did and yep - my daughter loved her cut too. So much so that now she schedules an appointment at Wow U Salon when she comes into town. Trust me ladies... save yourself time, money and frustration. The entire wash and cut appointment lasted about 20 minutes and there was very little consultation about how I wear my hair or what shape I wanted the cut to have. With thick hair, a blunt shoulder cut leaves the hair very heavy and difficult to manage. I did try to address my concerns after the appointment and Diane later offered a refund, which I appreciate, but the experience itself was still very disappointing given how much length was removed compared to what we discussed.

As soon as she started her 2nd client, she and her client began to talk about something completely inappropriate and the owner made comments that have no business being said around clients, particularly a new client she had never met. I was so shocked at what I was hearing, I told her I would be leaving and went to another salon. I have no doubt that Kay is a fantastic hairdresser, but between having to wait upwards of a half an hour for my appointment and having to sit and listen to inappropriate comments from her, I am unwilling to give her my business.

I was able to make my hair appointment with Young, the owner, for that day. She saw me right away when I arrived and was super friendly. She trimmed my hair and gave me fantastic new bangs. The atmosphere was fantastic and the salon was pretty.
