I was referred by a friend to see Vicki for eyelash extensions and I LOVE THEM!! So much volume without looking fake. People are always complimenting on how good my lashes look. Her prices are great too, especially with how many lashes she puts in. I've seen her twice already (full set and refill appt) and would never go anywhere else for beauty services. :) Vicki is so sweet and makes you feel super relaxed and comfortable the entire appointment. Many thanks to Harvey and team at Solace Salon & Day Spa. During this COVID time, I feel very safe in this salon. The attention to detail for cleanliness, sanitization, and masking is excellent. The hair color and cut are the best I've ever experienced (and I've experienced many salons, including the whoop-tee-doo salons in NYC). Harvey highlights and cuts my hair more professionally than anyone else I've ever gone to. I've been to salons where even though I'm the client, I feel they're doing me a favor to take me. That so doesn't work for me. However, Solace has talent without attitude. Thought I'd take the time to write this because we're all in this together. Solace is a fantastic hair salon. I'm sure their other services are great, but I can only speak to their hair services. I see Mary and she is absolutely, hands-down, the best hairstylist I have ever had. I have long, thick hair and she knows exactly how to cut it so that I never have a bad hair day. She cuts along with my natural wave, so I don't have to fight it. I'm serious when I say that I never have a bad hair day! Also, Mary actually listens and delivers exactly what you ask. She doesn't just say, "oh, of course" and then do whatever she wants. It's probably because she is very skilled and can actually do what you can for. She is also a really nice, easy-to-talk-to person. She is very respectful and lets you lead the conversation. If you want to talk, she can keep up, but if you feel quiet, it's not awkward. For all aesthetic services Vicki is the best. As a fellow skin care specialist I am very particular when it comes to having my eye brows waxed, make up done etc. Vicki is one if the few I trust! I like to keep my brows thick and she always does a meticulous job and never over tweezes or waxes. Highly recommend for the best eye brow wax you will ever get. I don't usually write reviews on yelp but had to leave one for Mary B. bc I haven't had a good experience with hair stylists until her. I had really long hair and wanted the popular beach wavy short bob, and Mary absolutely did exactly what I wanted. I have been to other salons like kindle and boom and Hugo (rockville/wheaton area where I reside) and for some reason I never came out of those salons thrilled. Mary was awesome she asked if I wanted to donate my hair which she read my mind and she just knew the look I was going for. Jaime the apprentice was super sweet too, I came into the salon and was automatically greeted (by the owner too)! Overall great experience would definitely go back to Mary again. read more

I started going to Solace over a year ago when I followed my beloved stylist, Nichole once she began working there. The salon is clean, organized, professional and friendly. Great products, wifi, coffee, lovely infused water and an endless supply of hard candy. If you are lucky enough to have Jamie wash your hair, then you will understand when I tell you how amazing she is. Nichole is an artist when it comes to color and I am complemented on my hair all the time. She was awesome at correcting my color when I used to mess it up with box dyes in my younger and more clueless years. She is professional, timely, creative and easy to talk to. I went there for hair and makeup for my wedding reception. I asked ahead of time how much each would cost and was told I couldn't get an estimate for my hair, which wound up being way more than I expected ($100!!! for thirty minutes of styling, they didn't even have to wash it), and within an hour of leaving the salon I was already having to get my sister to bobby pin it back together because so many pieces were falling out. It looked terrible! I called the salon to complain and no one called me back. Doug did my hair. Sorry to say, I would not go back and would not recommend. read more

She genuinely cares about her clients and their skin. She gives great facials too. She is the best and I highly recommend that people try her out. I love Solace Salon and Day Spa!! Harvey has done my last 4 colors and the feel and shape of my hair has improved so much. He listens to what you want to achieve with you service. One of the greatest salon owners you'll meet. His staff is so friendly everyone I see has a smile on their face and it's genuine! Watching them work and the completed looks from colors to hilites and cuts, Harvey has a very talented group of stylists not to mention the facials, mani/pedi and massages... I could spend all day writing how much I love Harvey, his work, his crew and the salon in general. Oh and let's not forget Jaime! That woman is amazing with her hands at the shampoo bowl!! Harvey did an amazing job on my hair! He's the owner of Solace salon and has been doing my hair for years, as well as my aunt, cousin, and my mom's hair. I have long curl hair and there isn't to many hair styles you can do with curl hair but every time he does it he finds a way to actually style it. He takes the time to listen to what I want and gives me suggestions on what will look good. He colors my cousin's hair and it always looks amazing. She has dark brown hair and he's managed to find ways to put in blonde highlights, and even red highlights over the years and it always looks natural! If you have hair that's difficult to manage or your tired of the same style I would recommend Harvey. He knows how to branch out and give you in style looks if you want and if you don't he always does exactly want you want! And never cuts to much off like other stylist do.
