I used to really enjoy coming to this salon, but unfortunately my recent experiences have been very disappointing. The last few times I've paid $100 for a cut and style, my hair still felt dirty after the wash, like the product wasn't rinsed out completely. On top of that, the haircuts themselves have been uneven and not what I asked for. Most recently, one side (the left side) of my hair was over an inch longer than the other (the right side) and the layers in the back were choppy and poorly blended. I actually had to purchase my own scissors to fix it at home, which is not something I should ever have to do after paying this much for a professional haircut. I've tried giving the salon multiple chances and have seen different stylists, but the issues have been consistent. While the staff is friendly and scheduling is easy, I don't believe the quality of service matches the price. For $100, I expect a clean wash and an even, well-done haircut and unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience here. read more

I absolutely loved how April did my hair for my wedding! She offered a hair trial, which I initially declined, but then decided to do last minute. She assured me that I did not need one for the hairstyle I wanted, and she was right, as it was perfect on the first try! I will absolutely use April again. I got married on a catamaran in the Chesapeake Bay and my hairstyle was still gorgeous when I got off the boat 6 hours later! I highly recommend April for any of your hairstyling needs! read more

Great salon for consistently good coloring and styling! Recently had a balayage/babylights and cut with Kaley (@kaleyweakleyhair) and was so impressed! She took the time to understand exactly what I was and wasn't looking for (cut, color, etc) and really friendly! Hair looks great several weeks later and her blending is so good, I can let it grow before needing a touch up! The price is worth the service. The salon is nice and definitely stays up with trends and technology of the industry. You can tell that people at the top of their game work there. The woman I worked with was lovely, but didn't deliver what I was asking for at all, and for what I paid I was disappointed. I booked a balayage and showed a few reference photos of what I was after (some notes of auburn to be put in). But my biggest request was for natural subtlety- I don't do well with upkeep and really didn't want an obvious root. My hair was lightened so much and then toned... and I tried to like it but when I got home I just couldn't deal. I'm a natural brunette and when I put my hair up, I had pieces that looked like a silvery pastel pink. I called back that night and made an appointment and went back to the same person. I'm all for giving someone a second opportunity. The solution was to again tone it. This left me a bit darker, but still ultimately had pink under tones, and the toner faded out in a few weeks. As my hair grew that brightness grew in a pretty straight and noticeable line that I've since had corrected at another shop. Everyone was really pleasant, and I appreciated that stylists time, but like I said, for what I paid, the results were extremely far from my expectations given that I provided photos of what I was after. read more

I tried this salon for the first time in July 2019 and had a fantastic experience. Roosevelt Oxendine was my designer/stylist. I say designer because, as a new client, he took the time to study my hair (it's curly and it can be straight), its' texture (fine), my face and we discussed what I wanted in conjunction with my lifestyle. Roosevelt knew how to deal with the type of hair I have and gave me an excellent hair cut AND style that I can wear both curly and straight without a lot of time/effort. He is also very calm, straight forward, listens and communicates effectively. I'll be returning to Roosevelt next to do my color. This is a very nice salon that I have come to for both hair and brow services. April does an amazing job with hair color! I've been very happy with my balayage highlights both times I've seen her. I appreciate the cleanliness of the salon and all the steps they've taken during COVID-19 to ensure safety for staff and clients (lots of partitions, mask wearing, temp checks, hand sanitizer, etc). I do wish the salon was a bit more upfront with their pricing. For example, I didn't realize that shampoo and blowdry are not included in a color service, so was surprised by the extra $46 charge. I think just being more clear, either on their website, or having the stylist let you know upfront, would help. I'm not sure how you're supposed to get a color service without getting a shampoo and blowdry apparently the blowdry is included with a haircut, so not sure why not with the color. Either way, nothing on their website indicates either in terms of what is included versus what isn't (just vague "pricing starts at...") so definitely get clarification when you're booking about what you'll be billed. read more
