Disappointing customer service at the Clarendon lululemon I was very disappointed by how a product-quality issue was handled at this location. I purchased sweaters for my two boys at the same time. Both were worn only a few times and washed once according to the care instructions, and both noticeably shrank. I brought one sweater to another lululemon location, where the staff inspected it, acknowledged the issue, apologized, and issued a refund. I was very appreciative of how professionally they handled the situation. I then brought the second sweater, which had the same issue, to the Clarendon location. Unfortunately, the experience was completely different. The store refused a refund and offered to exchange it for the same sweater. I was also kept waiting and told that I needed to contact another department. An exchange for the same item does not seem like a reasonable solution when the concern is that the product itself shrank after only one wash. I also found it very frustrating to receive such different treatment at two lululemon locations regarding essentially the same issue. I have contacted lululemon corporate customer service to request that the matter be reviewed. I hope the company will stand behind its products and ensure that customers receive consistent and respectful service across its locations. This experience was particularly disappointing because I otherwise expected much better from lululemon. read more

Good morning! I went to the Lululemon in the pentagon fashion center yesterday to get a coat that my grandson ordered online from their website. He ordered the coat while we were in transit to the store. So as to make this a quick trip. The coat was $315. The site offered Applepay. So that's what we chose as our source of payment. The payment went through just fine. However, when we arrived at the store the payment looked a little suspect. Because the money was gone, but it didn't show as a purchase. We immediately spoke with a manager. Her name was Ganada. (maybe) Anyway she wrote down our information and said she would check on it and be right back. And she disappeared for about ten minutes. Upon her return, she said that she had spoken with the back office and they told her that they could clearly see the purchase and the $315. However something went wrong, and they could not identify it. So we could not have the coat, nor the refunded amount of $315. She said they would sent my money back in 3 to 10 business days. Now, I ask myself why. I also asked the manager why. She didn't have an answer. She did however, offer me 25% off of the coat if I purchase in the store now. What kind of crackhead do they think I am. Why on earth would I give you more money??? In the end, my grandson has no coat and the money for the coat is somewhere in limbo. How is this remotely fair. Super drab, low energy store. Educators seemed unenthused, offering the bare minimum in terms of customer service. No one was unpleasant, but it was as if everyone there was walking on eggshells; not overly surprising, as the apparent manager on duty was somewhat dismissive in her half hearted offering of assistance. Fine if you know what you want and are just looking to get in and out. Seek an alternative location if you're looking for a more typical Lululemon experience and/or good vibes. read more

Best mens pants Ive ever owned. The ABCs are the only pants I own now. I can wear them when I think about going to the gym and decide to sit on the couch writing yelp reviews or sitting in my car waiting to pick up Starbucks and hoping I dont get covid from some antivax non-mask wearing clown. Sometimes I even go to the office in DC and wear them to do actual work on my laptop which involves sitting in various locations or walking to conference rooms then sitting some more. Walking from the parking garage to the office they just WORK! I recommend dark blue or dark gray or gray. They all look very similar. Yes they are expensive but they will last 10x longer than anything else you have. read more

I can see how people could easily get religious about a store like Lululemon. I get the concept but still find it a bit over the top. Don't get me wrong I like my sun salutations as much as the next girl but there's no need to get all evangelical about it! Lululemmings are already well-acquainted with the glute glorious properties of the Lululemon yoga pant. The belted variety "Fitness Pant" now popular in the Vancouver-based store is nearing velour pant status in my book, though. While perfectly acceptable when worn to and from yoga and/or the gym, I fear folks will mistake these as suitable for everyday use or worse yet, wear them to work! In any case, I discarded the "Fitness Pant" (seriously, what is up with the belt?) in favor of the "Wonder Under Tight" and the flat seamed wrap tank. Both perform well in the gym without enticing me to wear them to any non-fitness related activities. The Clarendon location not only has a genuinely friendly and helpful staff - they even put on events like this Thursday's holiday nutrition workshop about eating clean and green. If you're not bought in yet and you're a guy or a person who loves a guy, be sure to check out the "No Reek Sweat Tech" shirts that are anti-stink (they infuse silver fiber in these babies). This lulu is located near the Orange line Clarendon stop on the Metro. We stopped in to get some gear for the Rock 'n' Roll USA 1/2 marathon since the weather reports were showing it to be cold in the morning. The store staff was very nice and welcoming - even helped my cousin get some warm long sleeves for the day of the event. Everything in the store was pretty organized and neat and the staff was super jazzed about our race, wishing us good luck and fun for the next day. Area has all these little shops within walking distance and it is great that the lulu is located here. read more

Omg omg omg!!! Best Lulu location I have ever been to. I purchased two pairs of leggings at a different location and ended up not liking them. I was able to take them back to a different store and exchange them! Let me tell you about the customer service!! Phenom. I believe his name was Collin. (Not positive) but wowie. He listened to all my concerns and pulled two pairs he thought would fit and work for me best. When I wasn't 100% sold on them he pulled more for me and explained the different features of each pair. He ordered a pair for me in a different color online (free shipping to my house) and then measured the ones that I wanted in store to be hemmed (also for free). He didn't pressure me just was nice and helped me with my indecisiveness. I just don't get it. $95 for a pair of workout pants? They're not even that attractive. As a person who is fundamentally against workout/comfort wear outside the home/gym, this place nearly gave me hives. The saleswomen were all in sweats and I saw yoga pants with (eek) PINSTRIPES on them. That's right-- dark gray near-leggings with a faint suit-worthy vertical stripe. If you want to spend this much on workout gear, be my guest. Just don't start thinking that the price makes it worthy for public viewing. I'll admit that I really like saying the name but was equally annoyed by the big posters they had of their various locations. SanFran obviously had the Golden Gate Bridge but the poster for this spot in Clarendon had a woman sitting on the Mall with the Washington Monument in the background. I've been in here at least twice in the last few months and have always felt rebuffed by the staff. Yesterday was no exception as the staff looked me up and down. One person randomly told me that she bought a similar tank top. Ok. And? The cashier asked if I had purchased Lululemon products before and whether I was familiar with the care and maintenance of my apparel. His female counterpart gave him kudos and said he is so good for asking customers. Why should that be recognized? Yes, your clothes have had majorly public press regarding the quality but do you think making sure you ask us is going to change what happens when we do wash and dry our tank tops and pants? Sale items are spread out and there seemed to be a decent representation of all sizes for the full price items. My dressing room had two mirrors and a handful of hooks, which I appreciate. Looking forward to wearing my tank top, which by the way, contains space for removable cups, but did not come with them. When I inquired about them with the Lululemon representative, I was told in an effort to be sustainable, the cups do not come with the shirt and can be interchanged with other cups if I had them. If not, I could request those at the store. I feel shortchanged given my $34 tank top. That said, I want to like this store, but I prefer the P St. location since all my experiences there have been positive. read more

I went in here real quick today and I wanted to buy everything. I've practiced yoga and pilates for the last several years and of course you have to be dressed well even when doing downward dog :) They have brochures available for every yoga studio in the metro-dc area so if you want to join a class, this is a one stop shop to do some research. The vibrant colors in the store make it very welcoming and relaxing. They have a variety of yoga mats on sale as well. Lululemon is by far the best store in Arlington for athletic wear. Some complain about the price but when you run mile after mile and come out blister-free, you won't mind that the socks cost you more than your lunch. Also, I'm 5'9 and very leggy, this is the ONLY store that has yoga pants that are long enough. The groove pants are perfect for yoga and the wunder under cropped leggings are great for running. The staff is AMAZING. They are beyond helpful, even when you're being picky. They'll get your dressing room ready and help you find workout clothes that feel tailor made. read more

While this location is neither as big nor carries as much stock as it's sister Georgetown location, they carry a lot of the basics plus some. I went in last week to purchase some black boogie shorts for hot yoga and was immediately greeted and helped. Staff are much more laidback than the Georgetown location. My salesgirl was very helpful and friendly without being too pushy. She was able to answer all my questions, assist me in finding what I was looking for and get me to a dressing room quick and efficiently, not to mention, she showed me some other pieces that I could consider as well. I love Lulu because they not only sell great and attractive sportswear but they support the local yoga community, offer run club and yoga classes (check out their calendar) and keep you in the know about local yoga studios and picture local yoga instructors (there's big photos of my favorite yoga teacher at this store! hollerrrrr #famous) They also welcome you if you are shopping with your pup and offer water and treats so another excuse to stop by while walking your pup and treat yourselves. This is probably a 3.5, but I'm feeling generous, it's Friday. I always thought of this store as workout clothes for people who don't workout. The pants seem to have replaced those god awful "juicy" pants as the cool thing to wear to the grocery store.... and I'm not paying $80 for grocery store pants. However, I've become obsessed with buying myself a cute running skirt and lululemon's website had some options. I called ahead and the sales clerk right away offered to put aside a few skirts in my size. I showed up an hour or so later and got just the right amount of personal attention. I was very impressed by the cute, dare I say, sexy, but still practical workout clothes. The running apparel area is small, but I understand the company is just getting into this sport. Also, the store isn't huge, so if they have your size and you like the item, just buy it, it likely won't be there when you come back. This of course leads me to the main negative: price. The odds of finding anything you like on sale are exceedingly small and the full price is a bit steep. But looking cute during and after a 10 mile run in 80 degree weather, so worth it. read more

This place is great overall. They have a great selection. The products are spread out. I'm always able to find what I want right away. Although there is special care instructions with washing, the fabric is of high quality. In regards to their customer service, i couldn't praise them more. The staff is very patient. When I had tried to decide between two of their jackets, they asked questions including the use of the jacket. The location is great as well. There are a handful of restaurants and such around. Ok, first of all -- it's expensive. Really expensive. Frankly, I prefer being ignorant about the markup. (Which isn't to say you can't find a really good sale now and then). If you think UnderArmour is too pricey, don't even bother looking at Lululemon. If you can get by the price, though, you'll find an exceptional quality product and a great store. Every item I've bought at LuLu has held up *extremely* well with heavy use. From general workout gear to yoga mats, LuLu sells great products, and it's always my first choice whenever I need new athletic apparel or yoga gear. The inventory is constantly rotating, so it's fun to visit frequently. Be aware that their sizes run small. A couple of reviewers mentioned that the sales staff could be pushy, but I have *never* found that to be the case. Instead, they are just friendly and helpful -- really, really friendly. Honestly, I was taken aback by how friendly the staff was in my first couple visits. But having been there several times now, and attended a few classes, I can say that the staff's friendly attitude is genuine. Speaking of the classes, LuLu offers free community gatherings and yoga classes. There's no pressure to buy anything, and there's usually a good turnout. Local yoga studios rotate leading a Sunday 7PM class. It's definitely worthwhile to take advantage of the free classes. read more

I bounce between Crossfit, Yoga and jogging most days. I need functional athletic goods, to keep me lookin' good ... s. Folks may balk at the price of Lulu gear, but it's legitimately comparable to Nike & Under Armour cost. And how many Nike stores do you know that offer free yoga, support local fitness ambassadors and sponsor community fitness events? Yeah. None. Anything over $10 feels expensive to me, so checking out is always a small heart attack. But I've yet to have buyer's remorse on any item purchased through Lulu, at the Clarendon store or otherwise. Their staff of pretty ladies are always helpful in pointing out new gear or appealing engineering in a low pressure way. It's never "you should try this ..." but rather "we made it this way so you can ..." I especially enjoy working with a very tall gal (I'm a fellow tall girl) that works there (I think it's Maria!) and we lament about the critical length of crops and pants and what works for her and how it might work for me. The details: - Clothes are very well made. - nice design. - comfortable. - wicking in clothes are great. - can be worn regularly, doubles as normal clothes. - great for all sports. - the store offers free hemming even after you have worn something. - Clothes last at least 5 years. Longer if you dont put in the dryer. ( its like buying many $20 pants over the years) - if you lije, you can justify it as free clothes if you take enough of their free yoga classes. - its expensive but any way you look at it, you really get what you pay for. Confession: I don't do yoga. My poor excuse: I am 5'11'' and have never come close to being able to touch my toes (well, they are so far down there!) so I basically can't do any of the poses. However, I LOVE Lululemon. I am so happy to find their stores in the area -- I shopped in their San Francisco ones all the time. I live in their pants both at the gym and lounging at home. Working from home, they are the perfect uniform, and I don't feel like I'm subjecting my husband to looking at me in unflattering sweats -- they really are cute and body-conscious, while being incredibly comfy. I visited their Arlington store yesterday and had the pleasure of meeting a super lovely fellow pregnant lady who worked there. She clued me into the styles that work the best for a growing belly, and told me about some great pre-natal yoga classes in the area that she likes, even giving me a free pass to one of them. I made a specific trip here on a quest to purchase a hoodie to keep me warm and snuggly on my very long flight overseas. I really wanted something flattering, not bulky or 'sweatsuit'-like, and thumbholes were a must! I ended up purchasing a yellow scuba hoodie. I'm not sure I am in love with it yet, especially after buyers remorse kicked in last night after thinking about the $100+ pricetag for one hoodie! I do love that it was indeed a flattering, almost hourglass fit, and the thumbholes as well as oversized hood were perfect. The store is bright, clean, well organized and staffed with very friendly people. A nice gentleman noticed my Crossfit shoes and we chatted about my workout. Another gentleman helped me decide between two colors of the hoodie. Overall I was very impressed with the friendly service and clean store. I used to harbor 4 to 5 star ratings back when they hosted sunday night yoga classes. It was a really nice community event, and brought the neigborhood together. I used to go in every sunday for yoga, scope out what I wanted to buy, and come back and get it. Now I rarely stop by, its not nearly as interesting as it used to be. The products are great no doubt, but I can't stop being sad. The 'studios of the month' in far flung locations can't compete and don't inspire me to buy more lulu products. bring back sunday yoga! read more

I'm pretty cheap. I don't buy my clothes at boutiques. That said, I was sucked in by Lululemon. I went on a weekday afternoon and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, although when one of the sales women mentioned that one of the shirts had a built in shelf bra so you wouldn't need to wear a bra under it, I had to laugh. Maybe for you, sister, but not for me, not unless I want to flash the yoga class. I ended up buying two pairs of pants and two shirts there. I still wear them exclusively to work out, not just yoga. They did alter one pair of pants for me (that were obviously made for amazons) free of charge. The other pair of pants I got were "cropped"- meaning they graze my ankles (and I'm 5'4"). They also offer free yoga every Sunday, which is worth checking out since most studios in this area charge $15+ for class. read more

When I've been working out really hard and start seeing a difference in my body, I like to treat myself to something from Lululemon. Today it was a pair of the wunder under crops and a zip-up jacket. I love the feminine colors without it being overly girlie. The staff is super helpful, and I always have a pleasant experience. My only complaint is the volume of the music, or maybe the acoustics. My bf & I I were standing less than 3ft apart and he could barely hear me. I had to keep repeating myself, and I hate that! read more

As a fitness instructor, I know Lululemon very well. I'm not one to write reviews, but coming from a customer service background and knowing the price point here, I was disappointed with what I experienced when I was in there recently.. and that was completely nothing. Nobody welcomed me when I came in. Nobody asked me if I needed help while I was browsing. I walked right past the registers and there were 3 employees standing behind it just talking to each other in hushed whispers. Granted I am one of 4 customers in the store, but you can't even acknowledge me when I walk by? When I left, no one said good bye or have a nice day. You obviously expect more when you are entering in to a high end clothing store. Just saying. read more

I've looked everywhere to try and leave an employee/Educator review and there doesn't seem to be one so I figured here is better than nowhere. I just wanted to share my gratitude for an Educator named M who helped me place an order over the phone and had the order shipped out the same day across the country. An online order I placed got stuck in processing and I was told would never be shipped or fulfilled (a month after I placed it), it was never communicated to me, and the online chat agent said that it was just an unfortunate mistake and there was no solution since the product was now out of stock. They also said no stores had it in stock either and then ended our chat while I was typing, before I could respond which felt quite dismissive. After doing my own search online it looked like the Clarendon Blvd location had one left in stock. I called and M was so pleasant to speak with, pulled the item and got all my information to make sure it was shipped out correctly and proactively made sure my Sweat Collective account was linked as well. This time of year is stressful for everyone and I know retail employees don't always get their "thanks," so I just hope M knows how appreciative I am of their communication and customer service and it goes a long way (literally across the country on the west coast). read more

I bought a pair of gray pants the other day and after one wear it was getting all frizzy around the thigh area so I took it to them to see what can be done. We swapped it, and I got another one. They said if it does that again, just bring it back. Great service, and it's amazing how much they really believe in their products. So if you have any problems, it's so easy to come in and tell them what's wrong. Not a hassle at all. Thank goodness. I've become an even bigger fan. Also many times they have certain items on sale because they're always putting in new inventory. You can shop online as well and it's free shipping. Beware though because whatever is on sale is final sale so you have to really know your size. So if you aren't sure that's what you've seen in stores and are sure you liked it or if you aren't sure about your size, then don't get it online. Check to see if it's in stores first. Also I'm a short person, so you can get it hemmed for no charge. Except it takes a while, about 2-3 weeks. And I've noticed that whatever your normal size is, you have to up it a size at least because many of the clothes are preshrunk. The clothes are super comfortable. I am building a wardrobe full of them. I hope this obsession doesn't last because it's not cheap! read more

Best Lulu in the area. Come here if you want to avoid obnoxious crowds in Georgetown. Obviously it's pricey but you are paying for a 5 year guarantee on all their gear, free hemming on pants and most tops (people don't take advantage of this enough!), and exceptional customer service. Jordan was particularly helpful on my last visit and I walked out feeling confident in all my purchases. Instead of pushing me to try items that I didn't ask for or colors I didn't want, she carefully made recommendations based on what I was already wearing and the preferences I stated. I'm so pleased with this location and can't recommend it enough! Side note-- they are in a temp location across the street but it's a 30 second walk away so you could easily park wherever you normally would. read more
